Seven Falun Gong Practitioners Sentenced

The Zhaoyuan City Court of Shandong recently sentenced seven Falun Gong practitioners to imprisonment. Mr. Kao Fuquan was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment; Ms. Song Guihua, wife of Mr. Kao Fuquan, was sentenced to seven and a half years; Ms. Yang Lanxiang, a disabled person, was sentenced to seven and a half years; Ms. Diao Yunying was sentenced to seven years; Ms. Pang Cuirong was sentenced to four years; Mr. Yang Wenjie was sentenced to four years; and Ms. Teng Yingfen was sentenced to four years. Police arrested the seven practitioners in 2010. They were detained, tortured, and interrogated. The court and other legal departments have not allowed the practitioners or their families to hire lawyers. They have also not allowed family members to attend the trials. -
Personal Account of Persecution Told By Chen Shufen in Longxi County, Gansu Province
2011-01-27Ms. Chen Shufen was persecuted for a long time by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and police because she practised Falun Gong. She was sentenced to forced labour camps twice, where she was tortured and made to do forced labour. She recounts the persecution: "In the No. 2 Women's Forced Labour Camp in Gansu Province, I was forced to wrap disposable chopsticks. The soaking solution was strong and toxic, and could turn all of your hair yellow. My eyes were irritated and could not open, and sometimes I could not even breathe. It would also make people faint. When I finished working, I was reluctant to even eat. In the detention centre I was also hung up three times." -
Ms. Zuo Xiuwen and Three Other Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province
2011-01-26On December 13th, practitioner Ms. Zuo Xiuwen and three other practitioners were arrested. The practitioners were later detained in the Huachuan County Detention Centre. On December 16th, some of the relatives of the arrested practitioners went to the Huachuan County Police Station to see them, but the police turned them away. On December 28th, the relatives were finally allowed to see Ms. Wang and her elderly mother in the Huachuan County Hospital. The practitioners had been violently force-fed. The relatives saw the blood-stained tubes that were inserted into their stomachs during the force-feeding. -
Persecution of Ms. Zhang Guoqin from Yushu City, Jilin Province
2011-01-25Ms. Zhang Guoqin was taken to the Yushu Detention Centre because she insisted on practising Falun Gong. She recounts: "They forced me onto a "tiger bench", handcuffed my arms behind my back and tied my legs together, so that they were suspended in the air. They then put 5kg weights on each of my feet and fastened an iron bar just above my stomach, so that I couldn't move. Zhang then put a dirty rag in my mouth to prevent me from shouting, as he stomped on my feet, beat me with a rubber whip and punched me in the head. I was tortured from the afternoon until late in the evening, when they became tired. The pain was beyond belief." -
Officials Repeatedly Extort Money from a Disabled Army Veteran during His Daughter's Imprisonment
2011-01-25Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Qi Lei, 30, is a teacher in Shandong Province. On February 23rd, 2010, she was arrested by police outside the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) school as she was talking with people about Falun Gong and how the Chinese Communist Party has slandered Falun Gong. After Ms. Qi was taken to the Linyi City Detention Centre the officials started to intimidate, deceive and extort money from her family. Ms. Qi's father is a disabled army veteran, confined to a wheelchair, and needs to be cared for. 610 Office officials (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and the Domestic Security Bureau extorted 16,000 yuan from her parents. -
Lifting the Veil Covering the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Methods of Brainwashing Falun Gong Practitioners
2011-01-25Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began openly persecuting Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, it has made “reforming” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] a top priority. As such, numerous brainwashing facilities have been set up to carry out forced brainwashing. The brainwashing centre is securely guarded. There is no break time, and those who refuse to "reform" [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] are essentially serving a life sentence. Many practitioners were kind hearted people to begin with and had never been detained before. When suddenly held in solitary confinement cells and completely cut off from the outside world, they feel unbearable mental pressure. As a result, some develop fear, experience depression, and feel hopeless, as if “reformation” is the only way out. -
Yunnan Province Falun Gong Practitioners Ms. Chen Keyu and Mr. Yan Guisheng Detained
2011-01-24Recently, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Keyu, 38, was sentenced to three years imprisonment. She is currently in the Yunnan No. 2 Woman Prison’s training ward, which is the “strictly controlled” ward. Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yan Guisheng, 38, was sentenced to three years. He was sent to the Yunnan Province No. 1 Prison. They were both arrested for talking to people in public about Falun Gong and exposing the persecution. Previously, Mr. Yan was imprisoned for three years for practising Falun Gong. -
I Witnessed the Torture Deaths of Two Practitioners in Custody
2011-01-22Mr. Wang Wenju began practising Falun Gong in 2004. He witnessed the healing power of Falun Gong when his wife's diabetes disappeared as a result of the practice. He bravely spoke the truth about the persecution to his students. He was reported and arrested on October 26th, 2004. He was then sentenced to three years in prison. He was taken to Shenyang City around March 20th, 2005, then was transferred to Fushen City Nanhuayuan Prison where he was brutally force-fed when he was on hunger strike and tortured to death on April 27th, 2005, at only 38 years old -
Several Falun Gong Practitioners from Tongren City, Guizhou Province Arrested and Persecuted
2011-01-22In early November 2010, personnel from the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) arrested about 30 practitioners. They held a brainwashing session in the nursing home for the elderly in Dalong Town to persecute these practitioners. Practitioner Jiang Qirong had a warrant issued for his arrest, and was forced to leave his home in order to avoid persecution. He was arrested however on November 16th in Hunan Province. Mr. Jiang is currently detained at the Tongren Detention Centre. Because he couldn't endure the torture, he told police information about other practitioners in Tongren, who were then subsequently monitored and arrested by police. -
Elderly Practitioner Ms. Li Yingju, from Keshan Farm in Heilongjiang Province, Sentenced to Five Years in Prison
2011-01-22Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Yingju, 68, was arrested at home by police on May 14th, 2010, and given a five-year prison term. We learned that she will be sent to Tailai Prison within three days. The police are currently monitoring her home around the clock, cutting off her contact with the outside world. A police vehicle is blocking the door to her house, and police officers are taking turns monitoring her. -
Entrepreneur Wang Qingzhong Arrested in Linyi, Shandong Province
2011-01-22Mr. Wang Qingzhong, 54, a famous entrepreneur from Linyi City, Shandong Province, was a professor in the Department of Physics in Linyi Normal University, and is now the chairman of Xintianli Mechanical Ltd. in Linyi. Mr. Wang regained good physical health and spiritual well-being through Falun Gong practice. However, he was persecuted several times because of his belief. Mr. Wang was arrested for the third time on September 26th, 2010. The arrest was ratified recently and Mr. Wang's case will go though legal procedures. -
Beijing Lawyers Accuse Zhaoyuan City Police, Procurators and Court Officials
2011-01-21Several lawyers from Beijing defended Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Kao Fuquan, Ms. Song Guihua and Ms. Yang Lanxiang in Zhaoyuan City Court. The lawyers jointly wrote a letter in December 2010 to the Yantai City Intermediate Court and Procuratorate, Shandong Provincial High Court and Procuratorate, Beijing Supreme Court and Procuratorate, Public Security Department, Political Consultative Committees and the People's Committees at all levels, accusing the Zhaoyuan Court officials, the Procuratorate and the police of jointly breaking the law, by preventing the lawyers from being able to meet with their clients, to have access to documents, and to attend court hearings. -
Ms. Fan Guoxia Recounts the Persecution She Experienced in Harbin Women's Prison
2011-01-20Fan Guoxia, a Falun Gong practitioner, was arrested on February 6th, 2002 and sentenced to seven years in prison. She has been imprisoned since May 15th, 2003. Ms. Fan recounts the persecution that she has suffered in prison: "The guards put me in solitary confinement using the excuse of SARS prevention. Guard Tao Dandan asked me to her office in order to have a “discussion” with me. She demanded that I say “Checking in.” I refused, as I have committed no crime and do not need to report to the authorities as if I were a criminal. With gloved hands, Tao slapped my face until her hands hurt. She tried to force me into a squatting position but I refused that as well. Every two days Tao ordered somebody to torture me." -
Lieutenant Commander's Health Destroyed While Held in Prison for Ten Years
2011-01-19Mr. Wang Youjiang is a Falun Gong practitioner and the former lieutenant-commander of the communications corps of the Lanzhou Military Region. He was arrested by police for practising Falun Gong on January 10th, 2001. Simply for trying to be a good person, adhering to his belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and writing a banner “Restore Falun Gong's Innocence,” Mr. Wang was sentenced to ten years in prison. He was held at three facilities in Lanzhou City: the Xiguoyuan Detention Centre, the Xigusiergou Detention Centre, and the Dashaping Prison. His prison term ended on January 9th, 2011. His health has deteriorated after years of abuse in the prison and he can no longer take care of himself. His wife has also left him. -
Persecution Carried Out at Zibo Women's Labour Camp in Shandong Province
2011-01-19In 2008, during the Beijing Olympics, I was arrested by police and sentenced to two years of forced labour for practising Falun Gong sent to Zibo Women's Forced Labour Camp. During my detention, I was brutally persecuted. I also witnessed many Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted unscrupulously and tortured for refusing to give up the practice. A practitioner was tortured by two female drug addicts, until her whole body was covered with wounds. They beat her day and night, hitting her in the chest and back. This practitioner was locked up every day in a solitary cell. She was forced to stay within an area as wide as a floor tile. She was beaten if she stepped out of this boundary.
