  • Well-known and Respected Doctor in Xinxiang City, Henan Province Put on Trial

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Faling has been detained for more than five months. His family has been forbidden to visit him. The police notified his family that Hongqi District Court will put Mr. Xu on trial. Since the Chinese Communist regime's brutal persecution of Falun Gong started in July 1999, Mr. Xu was subjected to forced labour twice, in 2003 and 2006. He was fired from his position as a doctor. He was demoted and the hospital forced him to work in the laundry room. Unfortunately, his wife became frightened and did not dare to practise Falun Gong anymore due to her fear of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Pressured by the Party, she divorced her husband, her illnesses relapsed and she died in 2001.
  • Owner of Yuwen Technology in Shanghai Brought to Trial

    On April 15th, 2010, Mr. He Binggang, the owner and general manager of computer operations at Yuwen Technology in the Changning District of Shanghai and also a Falun Gong practitioner, was trapped by secret agents from the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in the Changning District and taken away. His case has received a lot of outside attention, and the authorities' underhanded tactics have been extensively reported on.   • Shanxi Province's Xingping City Domestic Security Division Officers Persecute Ms. Li Ying'e and Huang Bo

    Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Li Ying'e, Ms. Jing Xuehong, Ms. Huang Bo, and Ms. Liu Qiaomei were in Ms. Jing's car on January 6th. They stopped by the roadside and a young man suddenly forced open the car door, grabbed Ms. Jing, and started beating her, claiming that her car had run over his feet. When the polices arrived they completely ignored the man who had caused the incident and took the women and their car to the police station. The police interrogated the practitioners separately. The police found stickers with Falun Gong messages in their car, three leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong and unposted letters. They then transferred the practitioners to the Xingping City Domestic Security Division for additional interrogation.
  • Personal Account of the Persecution Suffered by Ms. Song Huilan from Heilongjiang Province

    Ms. Song Huilan has suffered repeated persecution by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents for practising Falun Gong. In her own words: "On July 1st, 2010, two fellow practitioners and I went to Jixiang Town to distribute Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution. Someone reported us to the police, and we were arrested and taken to the Tangyuan County Detention Centre. Officers ordered us to wear jail uniforms but we did not cooperate. They beat us and verbally abused us. On the fourth day, officer Song came in with a pile of documents and ordered us to sign them. None of us cooperated. He threatened us and said that we would be detained for a month whether we signed the documents or not. In order to protest the persecution, I went on a hunger strike for 18 days. When I was on the verge of death, they notified my family to pick me up."
  • Practitioners from Rizhao City in Shandong Province Sentenced

    Four practitioners are being held in Rizhao Detention Centre. Ms. Qian was arrested on November 10th, 2010, and was sentenced to two years in prison on January 20th, 2011. Ms. Ding was sentenced to one year in prison in October 2010. Ms. Wang and Mr. Mu were both sentenced to four years in prison by the Rizhao Court. Ms. Zhang Ping, Ms. Ding's mother, was arrested and was later sentenced to four years in prison. Her term will be up in July 2011.
  • Wu Zuqiang and His Son Wu Xianjin from Gaozhou, Guangdong Province Have Been Detained

    Police arrested Wu Zuqiang and his son Wu Xianjin (both practitioners) on the afternoon of October 25th, 2010. The police ransacked the practitioners' home and stole their personal property. They detained them at the Hexizhongdi “Law Education School,” where they were forced to attend brainwashing sessions. Relatives of Mr. Wu and his son went to Gaozhou 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and Gaozhou Police Station to request the unconditional release of the father and son and the return of their confiscated property, but the 610 Office and the police station just made excuses. Gaozhou Police Station did not even allow the relatives to enter the station.
  • Middle School Teacher Suffers Solitary Confinement and Electric Shock in Shiling Prison, Siping City

    On December 5th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Xu Hongjun was sentenced to four and a half years in prison by the Tonghua County Court. Currently he is imprisoned in Shiling Prison, Siping City. Because Mr. Xu refused to give up his belief in Falun Gong, he was beaten by police with a military electric baton. At the end of October 2010, Mr. Xu was twice subjected to solitary confinement in a small cell. His family and friends are very worried about his current situation.
  • Ms. Liu Sulan from Shenyang City, Liaoning Province Arrested and Facing Sentencing

    On September 29th, 2010, Ms. Liu Sulan and Ms. Wang Min told a taxi driver about the goodness of Falun Gong and about the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of it. They were reported and arrested by police and taken to Shenyang Detention Centre. Previously, Ms. Wang was sentenced to five years in prison in early 2002 and put into Dabei Prison in Shenyang. She was forced to do manual labour making clothes at the prison. She had to work for more than twelve hours each day, and sometimes until the next morning. When she refused to recite the prison regulations, the guards surrounded her with several inmates who recited the prison regulations to her. One time, she was caught reading a Falun Gong article. The guards shocked her with electric batons for a whole morning.
  • Ms. Li Xiaoxia Sentenced to Forced Labour Twice, Her Family Torn Apart

    Ms. Li Xiaoxia has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) because she refuses to renounce her practice of Falun Gong. In October 2000, she was sentenced to three years of forced labour. In September 2006, she was again sentenced to two years in a forced labour camp. In her own words: "In the camp, I was forced to perform laborious work and tortured mentally and physically. I was cursed at, mocked, not allowed to use the toilet, and forced to sit on a chair for a long time. After three years, I was released."
  • Five Jiaonan Practitioners Recently Arrested

    Ms. Liu Huimin and four other practitioners from Jiaonan, Shandong Province were arrested by the local police on January 15th-16th, 2011. The police claimed that they would sentence the practitioners. On the afternoon of January 16th, Ms. Liu Meiqin, who is Ms. Liu Huimin's sister, went to Dacun Town to ask for her release. Ms. Liu Meiqin was then also arrested. Wang Zongli has been released from detention. On January 17th, the police went to ransack the homes of the practitioners. The five practitioners have been sent to the Dashan Detention Centre in Qingdao City, Shandong Province.
  • Older Practitioner Mr. Xia Tongmu from Hebei Province Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

    Mr. Xia Tongmu, 62-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Jizhou City, Hebei Province. He was arrested in September 2009 and brutally tortured. In March 2010 he was sentenced to five years in prison. His lawyer solidly defended against the false charges made against him during the trial. However, he was still sentenced to prison. Mr. Xia is currently detained in Jindong Prison, Tangshan City. Mr. Xia's wife, who is over 60 years old, and his daughter are very worried about his safety. His wife has been deeply depressed since the ordeal began.
  • Mr. Mou Zongyan and Ms. Wang Yun from Rizhao City, Shandong Province Sentenced to Prison

    Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Mou Zongyan and Ms. Wang Yun were arrested one year ago. At the same time more than ten practitioners were arrested because they practise Falun Gong. They have been detained in the Rizhao Detention Centre. Without notifying their families, the Donggang District Court of Rizhao sentenced them to four years in prison. The two practitioners have appealed the sentence.
  • Elderly Woman Sentenced to Eight-Year Prison Term for Handing Out Falun Gong Pamphlets

    Ms. Shi Yazhen, 67, was secretly sentenced to an eight-year prison term for handing out pamphlets about Falun Gong. Her relatives asked, “Why are the authorities afraid of an old woman? What are they afraid of?” More than seven months elapsed from the day Ms. Shi was arrested until she was transferred to the prison. Ms. Shi's family received no legal documents or notices whatsoever during that time. The whole thing was "black case work." The Hadawan Police Station called Ms. Shi's family in January 2011, and said that Ms. Shi had been sentenced to eight years of prison and transferred to the Changchun Heizuizi Women's Prison. Ms. Shi's husband, in his 70s, was shocked by the news.
  • Elderly Ms. Liu Jimei from Huaiyang County, Henan Province Detained

    On December 6th, 2010, practitioner Liu Jimei and her 95-year-old mother were reported to the police while they were putting up stickers exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. Liu Jimei was arrested by police. At the police station police forcefully slapped Liu Jimei. They asked Liu Jimei several times who gave her the Falun Gong materials. Liu Jimei said that she did not know who placed them outside her door. Liu Jimei returned home after being detained for 15 days.
  • Several Letters from Masanjia Forced Labour Camp Give Persecution Details

    The Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang brainwashes Falun Gong practitioners with force and torture, and brutally forces practitioners to give up their belief. Some practitioners have been tortured to death or disabled, or have lost sensation in their limbs. The torture methods the labour camp uses include the “stretching bed” (practitioners' arms are handcuffed to two metal beds and then the beds are pushed apart), “splitting legs” (practitioners are forcibly pushed down to the floor with their arms fully apart and handcuffed to the rails of a metal bed, then their legs are pulled in opposite directions), and the “big hang-up” (practitioners are hung from heating radiators with their two arms pulled far apart or with one arm handcuffed to the radiator).
