Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Yingju, 68, from Keshan Farm of the Qiqihar Agricultural Administration Bureau, was given a five-year prison term. We learned that she will be sent to Tailai Prison within three days. The police are currently monitoring her home around the clock, cutting off her contact with the outside world. A police vehicle is blocking the door to her house, and police officers are taking turns monitoring her.

On May 13th, 2010, several dozen officers from the Keshan Farm Police Department, along with officers from the local police station, the traffic police force, and the urban administration bureau, formed 16 groups to patrol the area around the clock, in an attempt to arrest Falun Gong practitioners who speak with people about Falun Gong. On May 14th, political head Li Chen from the police department led more than a dozen officers, including Liang Rui, to break into retired worker Mr. Liu Hongxin's home, arresting Mr. Liu, who is 77-years-old, and his wife, Ms. Li Yingju, and ransack their home.

The police confiscated Falun Gong informational materials and personal property, and then took the elderly couple overnight to the Qiqihar City Detention Centre, where a physical exam disqualified them, and the detention centre refused to accept them. The police proceeded to take the couple to the No.1 Detention Centre. Officials there also refused to accept the couple. The police then took them to the Sijiazi Detention Centre which also refused to accept them. Ms. Li and Mr. Liu were extorted of 500 yuan1 for the physical exams before they were released.

Police officers Liang Rui, Liang Ziguo, and Li Yongjun from the Keshan Farm continuously fabricated charges and submitted documents against Ms. Li to the Procuratorate. As a result, Ms. Li was sentenced to five years in prison.

In addition, Mr. Bai Shizhong was also sentenced to five years in prison for helping others install satellite dishes. He is currently being held in the Tailai Prison. Ms. Yan Ting has lived away from home following her two-year detention in a forced labour camp. Her whereabouts are unknown.
