  • Head of 610 Office Li Qingshan Has Persecuted Three Falun Gong Practitioners to the Point of Mental Breakdown

    Li Qingshan is the head of the Lincheng County 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Hebei Province. Li Qingshan has arrested at least 40 Falun Gong practitioners and has personally tortured practitioners. Three young practitioners have suffered mental breakdowns and ongoing mental impairment under persecution by Li Qingshan. In the spring of 2003, Ms. Zhang was arrested while she was distributing flyers about the persecution of Falun Gong and sent to the Xingtai Brainwashing Centre. She was deprived of sleep and threatened by the brainwashing staff day after day. In the end, Ms. Zhang could not take the tremendous pressure, and she renounced her belief in Falun Gong.
  • Falun Gong Practitioners from Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province Arrested

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Alian, in her 30s, was arrested at work on November 2nd, and taken to the Jinchengwan Brainwashing Centre. Prior to her arrest, 73-year-old Ms. Ge Xiuying was arrested and tortured during interrogation. Ms. Ge Xiuying's daughter, Ms. Dai Lijuan, was arrested twice and held in a mental hospital, where she was injected with unknown drugs. She was arrested again in 2003, and severely beaten by the police to the point of being in critical condition. She was paralysed due to the severe abuse, and died on March 28th, 2011.
  • Zhaoyuan City Policemen Arrest Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zhong Zhaofen to Meet Forced Labour Quota

    On November 8th, three officers from the Zhaoyuan City Domestic Security Division broke into Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhong Zhaofen's home and took her to the Lingnan Brainwashing Centre. Ms. Zhong's family went to the brainwashing centre to request her release. Officer Song Shaochang said, “We were given a quota of four forced labour sentences from our superiors. Zhong is just in time to be one of them.” Song extorted 4,000 yuan from Ms. Zhong's family, but Ms. Zhong has not been released.
  • Mr. Song Guobin Arrested While Visiting a Friend

    On the evening of October 7th, Mr. Song Guobin went to visit his friend, who was also a practitioner. When Mr. Song arrived at his friend's home, police officers were there, ransacking the place. The officers arrested Mr. Song, as well as his friend. Around 11:00 p.m. that night, the officers took Mr. Song's house key and went to his home. They ransacked his home as well and confiscated a computer, cash, and other personal belongings. On October 18th or 19th, Mr. Song's family was notified that they needed to send a change of clothes to Mr. Song, who was being held at the Baoding Detention Centre.
  • Harbin and Shuangcheng Police Arrest Dozens of Falun Gong Practitioners

    On November 13th, the Shuangcheng Domestic Security Division of Heilongjiang Province colluded with Harbin Police Department to arrest a large group of Falun Gong practitioners. It was reported that the arrested practitioners were detained in the Shuangcheng Detention Centre and Harbin Second Detention Centre. Seven male practitioners and 13 female practitioners are currently being detained in the Shuangcheng Detention Centre. The homes of three practitioners were ransacked. Mr. Luo's home was ransacked first and his teenage son was also taken away. It is winter in northeast China. Mr. Luo's son was wearing only underclothes when he was taken away.
  • Mr. Wang Baohong's Personal Account of Torture at Handan Forced Labour Camp in Hebei Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Baohong was sentenced to forced labour in 2007 and was subjected to brutal torture and brainwashing at the Handan Forced Labour Camp. Here is Mr. Wang's personal account of the torture he experienced, "The guards gave criminal inmates the authority to watch over practitioners. and they could beat, verbally abuse, or punish the practitioners at random. The method they used in attempting to force practitioners to renounce Falun Gong was to talk to practitioners in turn and pretend to show concern for them in order to collect information about them. They even “studied” Falun Gong literature with the practitioners. If a practitioner didn't agree with their distorted “understanding” of the Falun Gong teachings, they began to punish and torture them."
  • Sixteen-Year-Old Middle School Female Student Imprisoned Again

    In 2000, Zhang Xiaoling rode her bicycle to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was arrested. Zhang Xiaoling was detained at the Meihua Drug Rehabilitation Centre for 25 days. She was brutally beaten police. Both of her legs turned black and blue and were badly swollen. Eleven years later, Zhang Xiaoling was sentenced to two years of forced labour for practising Falun Gong at the Chatou Forced Labour Camp in Guangzhou City, which is notorious for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.
  • Ms. Chen Fengmin from Jiamusi Seized from Home, Whereabouts Unknown

    Around 7:00 a.m. on October 18th, four unidentified people knocked on Ms. Chen Fengmin's door and said that they had come to collect for the water bill. When she opened the door, they seized her and forced her into a van. Then they quickly drove away with Ms. Chen crying out for help. Her current whereabouts remains unknown. Ms. Chen's son and mother-in-law went to see the staff of the residential committee. A staff member said, “I cannot tell you where she is because it will affect her 'transformation [forcibly renounce Falun Gong]'”
  • Ms. Liu Fenglan from Anyang City, Henan Province Arrested Again

    Police followed Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Fenglan on the afternoon of November 1st, when she was out, and subsequently arrested her. Around 6:00 p.m. that same day, more than a dozen perpetrators pried open the door to Ms. Liu's home, and ransacked the entire house. Ms. Liu's elderly husband was helpless and has reached the limit of his psychological endurance. According to an insider, some people are currently staked outside of Ms. Liu's residence.
  • Practitioner Mr. Wu Zhanwei from Qingdao City, Shandong Province Secretly Sentenced to Four-Year Prison Term

    Practitioner Mr. Wu Zhanwei is from Qingdao City, Shandong Province. On October 10th, his family learned that he had been sentenced to a four-year prison term. According to Mr. Wu’s wife, he has been persecuted to the point where he has become extremely weak and muddleheaded. His family almost didn't recognise him. A few months prior to his arrest, Mr. Wu was very strong and clearheaded.
  • Director of a Design Office Wanted by Police--Director's Son Arrested

    Mr. Zhang Hengyu was a director of the design office of Shenlong Carpet Group Co. Ltd. in Wucheng County, Shandong Province, and has made great contributions to the company. He and his wife, Ms. Tan Fengling, both cultivate Falun Gong. The kind-hearted couple, however, have been framed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and are wanted for robbery. They have been forced into exile. Unable to find out the whereabouts of Mr. Zhang Hengyu, the Wucheng County Police Department was so enraged that they arrested his son, Zhang Shijie, on October 20th.
  • Ms. Ren Suying from Chifeng City Tried and Interrogated Under Torture

    Falun Gong practitioner Ren Suying was taken away by three police officers on April 19th, 2011. Two officers suddenly came up and held her down on the ground. One officer took off Ms. Ren’s shoes and repeatedly hit her face with her own shoe. They then took her to the police station for further interrogation. Ms. Ren was pressured to admit that she, along with fellow practitioners, went to Wudan Township to disseminate printed Falun Gong material. She was also pressured to reveal the names of the other practitioners. Because Ms. Ren refused to cooperate police beat her, shocked her with electric batons, inserted bamboo under her fingernails, punched her in the head and neck, kicked her, and struck her her with water bottles. The Wengniuteqi Court tried Ms. Ren on November 1st.
  • Elderly Practitioner Ms. Chen Xiuying from Mianyang Taken to Brainwashing Centre

    On November 1st, 2011, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen was celebrating her birthday at home with her children. Soon after they left at 9 p.m., someone knocked on the door. Several police officers rushed into her home and tried to take her away. Ms. Chen leaned towards a window and shouted, “There are bad people in my home! They are trying to take me away!” Later, her son asked the police why they had come to an elderly person's home so late at night. An officer said anxiously, “She practises Falun Gong.” Ms. Chen's son replied, “What's the matter with practising Falun Gong? She was not very healthy and so practises Falun Gong to get fit. Which law does she violate?” The police quickly left, but the next day returned, arrested Ms. Chen and took her to Wujia Brainwashing Centre.
  • Falun Gong Practitioners from Huarong County Arrested

    On September 21st, Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Xie Chaoyan and his wife, Ms. Yan Congxi were arrested by officers from the local police station. They are currently detained at the Huarong County Detention Centre and Detention Station, respectively. Since the couple began practising Falun Gong, they have learned to act according to the principle of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance. They treat their neighbours well and have good reputations. Mr. Xie and Ms. Yan are considered to be good people by their fellow villagers. Now, as their daughters are about to be married, Mr. Xie and Ms. Yan are being detained because of their belief.
  • Ms. Liang Xiuying from Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Arrested for Writing Letters to Advise Officials to Do Good

    Police suddenly arrested 67-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liang Xiuying on November 9th. The police used the excuse that Ms. Liang had written letters to related government agencies and officials asking them not to persecute Falun Gong practitioners who believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and to stop the persecution and do good deeds. The community was surprised that Ms. Liang was arrested for kindly advising regime authorities to stop committing crimes. She was taken to a detention centre and her home was ransacked. The police charged Ms. Liang with “disrupting public order.”
