Investigation Lead: Multiple Kidney Transplants with Unknown Donors at the No. 1 Hospital Affiliated with Jilin University

It is common knowledge that an organ considered for transplant must be of matching tissue type between donor and recipient. (In developed countries such as the U.S., the waiting time for a prospective transplant patient is several years, sometimes as long as ten years). It was recently reported that multiple kidney transplant surgeries were performed at the No. 1 Hospital affiliated with Jilin University in Changchun, Jilin Province. Two transplants were done each day in early March 2009, which is cause for concern. Where do the organs come from? It makes one suspect that the live organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners is still happening in China. -
Chongqing Practitioner Mr. Zhang Jingzhi's Account of the Persecution Directed by Bo Xilai
2012-05-11For protesting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong, Mr. Zhang Jingzhi from Chongqing was subjected to brutal persecution directed by Bo Xilai and Wang Lijun. He was arrested and sentenced to a three-year prison term in August 2009, and subjected to severe beatings and "fatal torture" while imprisoned. -
First-Hand Experience of Brutality at Fanjiatai Prison
2012-05-10In March 2011, fourth ward warden Xiao Tianbo forced practitioners to perform slave labour. Mr. Liu Lin wrote a refusal letter, saying that we are practitioners, not criminals, and we refuse to perform slave labour. Deputy instructor Wang Jie led a group of people to the cell and slandered Falun Gong. I stood up to stop him. He was afraid, and he looked at the other four or five inmates and instructed them to push me onto the bed and to not allow me to speak. They kicked me in the head, waist, and chest for half an hour. I could not stand and was on the edge of losing consciousness. They were afraid and wanted to hold me up, but I could only fall over. This repeated several times. It was like I was almost in a coma. -
Mr. Zhang Beiqi Given Additional Seven-Year Sentence After Eight Years of Wrongful Imprisonment and Torture
2012-05-10“Four days and three nights of torture made me lose consciousness. They poured cold water over my body and opened the window to freeze me. They pulled me along the ground, dragging me by my hair. They beat me with their fists. When they saw that I had lost consciousness, they tried to remove me from the tiger bench from where I fell onto the floor. They produced the prepared statements and forced my fingers onto the paper to get my fingerprints, taking advantage of the fact that I was unconscious. As Two Physicians and a Teacher Finish Their Unjust Prison Terms, 610 Office Plots to Continue Persecuting Them
2012-05-09Three Falun Gong practitioners—Ms. Qi Shuyan, a physician; Ms. Yan Xihua, a teacher; and Ms. Wang Yuzhuo, a physician were due to finish their prison terms around late April/the beginning of May 2012. Shuangyashan City 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) contacted Ms. Qi's family and forbade them from picking her up from Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison in Harbin City. The agents attempted to take her to a brainwashing centre to continue persecuting her. -
Ms. Sun Tao Arrested, a Friend Barely Avoids Arrest
2012-05-09Since the beginning of 2012, the Hebei Province 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) has dispatched police officers at all levels to monitor Falun Gong practitioners by tapping phones, monitoring their comings and goings, and stalking. It was reported that they suspected Ms. Sun Tao delivered DVD cases for her friend during her school's winter break. On February 25th, about a dozen plainclothes officers suddenly appeared in force and took her away. Ms. Sun was transferred to the Shijiazhuang Second Detention Centre. Ms. Sun's friend, Ms. Qi Guoqin, who lives nearby, happened to pass by her car and say a few words to her, so Ms. Qi was also taken away. -
After Suffering Years of Relentless Persecution, Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Xu Jingxian Arrested Again
2012-05-08Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Xu Jingxian was arrested by officers from the Pozijie Police Station on March 30th, 2012, while she distributed leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong to people. She is being held in the Changsha City Detention Centre. In 2005, Ms. Xu and her family were arrested by police. Later, Ms. Xu was sentenced to three years in prison and jailed in Hunan Province Female Prison. While imprisoned there, she was forced to do slave labour for long hours every day. She was also tortured physically and mentally. -
Fourteen Falun Gong Practitioners from Jiaonan City, Shandong Province Arrested
2012-05-08Since March, officers from Jiaonan City Political and Juridical Committee and the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Shandong Province have arrested fourteen Falun Gong practitioners. They have not allowed their family members to visit them, bringing great harm to those practitioners and their families. -
Over 50 Practitioners Arrested in Weifang City, Shandong Province Between January and March 2012
2012-05-07The Chinese authorities have arrested over 50 Falun Gong practitioners in Weifang City, Shandong Province over a three-month period, from January to March 2012. Among them, thirteen are from Weifang, nine are from Changle County, nine are from Gaomi City, eight are from Shouguang City, six are from Changyi City, six are from Anqiu City, and six are from Zhucheng City and Qingzhou City. The number of practitioners who have been secretly arrested is likely much higher. -
Once-Healthy Ms. Zhao Lerong Persecuted to the Point of Blurred Vision and Disorientation at Masanjia Women's Forced Labour Camp
2012-05-06Ms. Zhao Lerong, 56, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Dalian, Liaoning Province. She was arrested and sent to Masanjia Women's Forced Labour Camp in late September 2010. She was subjected to various means of torture, which caused her to suffer from chronic insomnia, blurred vision, tightness in her chest, and shortness of breath. She became delirious and extremely weak. -
Former Armed Police Force Captain Geng Dexin's Personal Account of Nine Years of Unjust Imprisonment
2012-05-06Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Geng Dexin was an armed police force captain. In 2002, he was arrested and sentenced to nine years in prison. He was brutally tortured while at Deyang Prison and Wumaping Prison in Sichuan Province. He recounts: "I was taken to Miyi County Detention Centre and beaten, and my hands were kept handcuffed behind my back the entire night. I was viciously beaten by guards. Later on, I went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. On the fifth day, I was brutally force-fed. They pried my mouth open using a pincer and poured liquid food down my throat." -
Ms. Zhang Guihua from Xinhua County, Hunan Province, Arrested and Tortured
2012-05-05Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Guihua was arrested on March 20th, 2012, by police as she was distributing materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. When Ms. Zhang was interrogated, division head Wang Hui and three other officers took turns to physically abuse her. They slapped her in the face and whipped her face and mouth with a wet cloth. They only stopped torturing her when they got tired and their hands hurt. Ms. Zhang's face was severely bruised and she was dazed. Ms. Zhang was taken to a detention centre and later to Baimalong Women's Forced Labour Camp for a one-year term. -
Zhou Yongkang: One of the Leading Persecutors of Falun Gong
2012-05-05The current Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Central Political and Legislative Committee secretary, Zhou Yongkang, is a member of the Central Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China, and also the current head of the so-called “Central Committee Leading Group for Handling the Issue of Falun Gong.” This committee was set up by the CCP under the leadership of Jiang Zemin for the purpose of persecuting Falun Gong. -
Jilin Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested and Sentenced to Prison
2012-05-03Police broke into Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lin Xiaoming’s home on April 14th, 2011 and arrested Lin Xiaoming and Xu Zhaorui. They later arrested practitioners Ms. Sun Liqing and Mr. Wang Yunliang. Mr. Wang was sentenced to one year of forced labour, and has since been released. Lin Xiaoming received a three-year prison sentence, and remains in Shiling Prison in Siping City. Xu Zhaorui is still detained at Fenjin Forced Labour Camp in Changchun. Ms. Sun Liqing was subjected to two years of forced labour and is being held at Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp in Changchun. -
Sixteen Falun Gong Practitioners from Tangshan Detained, Three Sent to Forced Labour Camp
2012-05-02In the early morning of February 20th officials from the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Hebei Province organised police from all levels of the National Security and Police Department to conduct a large-scale arrest of Falun Gong practitioners in nearly ten cities and counties in Hebei Province, including Shijiazhuang, Tangshan, Baoding, Cangzhou, Botou, and Xuanhua. They fabricated charges to imprison practitioners. There are still nineteen practitioners from Tangshan detained, sixteen of them in detention centres, and three have been sent to forced labour camps.
