Since the beginning of 2012, the Hebei Province 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) has dispatched police officers at all levels to monitor Falun Gong practitioners by tapping phones, monitoring their comings and goings, and stalking. It was reported that they suspected Ms. Sun Tao delivered DVD cases for her friend during her school's winter break. On February 25th, 2012, at about 8:30 a.m., the 2.23 Special Case Group, which was newly set-up, dispatched about a dozen plainclothes officers from the Shijiazhuang 610 Office, the Yuhua Police Department, and the Donghuan Police Station to hide near the building where Ms. Sun lives. When Ms. Sun left her residence and was about to open her car door, the police suddenly appeared in force and took her away. Ms. Sun's friend, Ms. Qi Guoqin, who lives nearby, happened to pass by her car and say a few words to her, so Ms. Qi was also taken away. Afterwards, the police confiscated Ms. Sun's key to her home, entered it, and ransacked it. They took a laptop, printer, and Falun Gong books, as well as her car. Ms. Sun and Ms. Qi were first taken to the Dongjiao Police Station nearby and then transferred to the Donghuan Police Station. Ms. Sun was transferred to the Shijiazhuang Second Detention Centre on March 1st.

Is it a criminal offence for a teacher to use her own vehicle to help a friend on one occasion deliver DVD cases? It was reported that Ms. Sun did not ask her friend what she would deliver at that time. She was arrested and detained for just this reason. Ms. Sun's 69-year-old mother lives in another city far away. After learning that her kindhearted daughter was wronged, she immediately hired an attorney from Baoding, Hebei Province, who requested a meeting with Ms. Sun as allowed by law. However, the Yuhua Police Department said that Ms. Sun's case involved “state secrets” and refused the attorney’s request. Recently, a new “Attorney Law” was issued, which clearly stipulates that an attorney's right to meet with clients cannot be denied. On March 22nd, the attorney again asked to see Ms. Sun. The Yuhua Police Department made excuses that they could not handle the request and needed to submit the request to higher authorities.

Ms. Sun and her daughter depend on each other. Her daughter is in Grade 12 at the Shijiazhuang Secondary School. Her academic level was slightly higher than average. However, Ms. Sun's daughter was deeply affected by her mother's arrest. In an important quiz, her score was the lowest in the class. Her grandmother is confined to bed and her grandfather is elderly. No one takes care of her. She suffered an almost complete mental collapse.

Ms. Sun has worked at the Hebei Urban Construction School for more than ten years. Several days ago, the school principal also went to the Yuhua Police Department and emphasised that Ms. Sun is a key teacher and the school needs stable teachers. He requested her release, but the police department refused his request.

Previously, Ms. Sun suffered from a severe case of hepatitis B. Her temper was bad and she often argued with her husband, which caused her to be mentally depressed. She had severe anaemia and rheumatoid arthritis after she gave birth of her daughter. At 5'7” she weighed only 90 to 100 lbs. She had a bad memory and had difficulty finishing her daily work summary. She felt miserable. When she started to practise Falun Gong in 1996, all of her illnesses soon disappeared. She became energetic and relaxed. Once in a long distance running competition at the school, to everyone' surprise she came in first. In her family, she followed the principle of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and learned forbearance. Her temper improved, and her family was in harmony.

However, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) does not allow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. During the past decade, Ms. Sun was repeatedly persecuted by CCP authorities just because of her belief. She was arrested many times. Once, they extorted 5000 yuan1 from her. She was detained in forced labour camps twice. She was sent to a brainwashing centre once. She was forced to become homeless for three years. During that period, her husband was repeatedly harassed by the authorities. Under such a huge pressure, he went to court and began divorce proceedings.
