  • Elderly Mr. Chen Ruixian from Sichuan Arrested and His Family Threatened

    Mr. Chen Ruixian, in his 70s from Nanchong, was taken away from his home by police on March 16th, directly to the Xishan Brainwashing Centre in Nanchong. When his wife and granddaughter went to inquire about him, Lei Yi threatened them and said he would send them to a forced labour camp. Mr. Chen started to practise Falun Gong in 1996. Because he did not give up practising, he was detained in a forced labour camp between December 1999 and May 2000. Afterwards his home was repeatedly ransacked, and he was fined, harassed and questioned. His pension was also suspended.
  • More Than 30 Practitioners Recently Arrested in Tangshan City, Hebei Province

    Liu Jianguo, party secretary of the Tangshan Politics and Judiciary Committee plotted a persecution of Falun Gong practitioners on February 21st, 2012, using the excuse that it was for the security of the National People's Congress Conference and People's Political Consultative Conference. On February 25th, more than twenty arrests were made in the Tangshan area, and more than thirty practitioners were arrested. There are currently still more than 20 practitioners being detained in the detention centres.
  • Computer Shop Owner Arrested and Robbed Before He Could Open for Business

    On February 25th, many Falun Gong practitioners from Tangshan City, Shijiazhuang City, Cangzhou City, Botou City were arrested by the local police. Among them were Mr. Gao Yanchen and his wife. Police barged into the home of Mr. Gao and ransacked it. They took away his child's computer, three mobile phones, and Falun Gong books. The Gaos have two sets of parents and two young children to care for, one of whom is only 2 years old. His wife does not have a job, and Mr. Gao has been working very hard to support his family. They are rather poor and so, to improve their financial situation, Mr. Gao was going to start a computer business. Just before he was to open the doors of his new business, the police arrested him and confiscated all of his merchandise.
  • Thirty-six Practitioners Sent to Forced Labour Camp after Large-scale Arrests in Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province

    Over 50 Falun Gong practitioners from Harbin and Shuangcheng City were arrested on November 13th, 2011. Among these practitioners, 36 have been sent to forced labour camps and seven are facing court trials and possible prison sentences. Ms. Wang Min is a physics teacher. She is in charge of a 9th grade class that will soon take the critical senior high school entrance exams. One of her students said, “My best luck in life is that I met Teacher Wang Min.” One of her students even quit school because Ms. Wang was sent to a forced labour camp.
  • Owner of Translation Company Arrested and Detained

    On March 1st, 2012, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jiano Cao distributed Shen Yun Performing Arts CDs at the Yuyin School. She was followed by some people and reported to the police. Officers from the Wanshou Street Police Station arrested her and ransacked her home. Her friend Ms. Zhenzhen, who was visiting her, was also arrested at that time. The two women were detained in the Haidian Detention Centre, and the police claimed they would be taken to a labour camp.
  • Fu'an City 610 Office Agents Manipulate Local Court Officials to Sentence Mr. Guo Yaowu

    Fu'an City 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) head Chen Zhong recently manipulated the legal system in the city to sentence Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Guo Yaowu. Mr. Guo was arrested on February 12th, 2012. Instructed by Chen Zhong police, procurators and court officials intended to sentence Mr. Guo to prison. Mr. Guo was previously arrested in May 2001 as he posted messages of “Falun Gong is good” in high visibility areas. He was sentenced to three years and held in Minxi Prison in Fujian Province. He was subjected to severe physical abuse and torture, including being hung up as well as other tortures.
  • Six Falun Gong Practitioners Sentenced in Dazhou City, Sichuan Province

    Six Falun Gong practitioners were tried in a court in Tongchuan District, Dazhou City, Sichuan Province on December 21st, 2011. Four were in their sixties. Seven days later on December 28th, they were sentenced to between three and ten years of imprisonment. In court, Mr. Xu refuted the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) prosecutor's falsified charges. That afternoon, the court officers forcibly took Mr. Xu to the Tongchuan District Public Security Bureau and held him there. However, he got very sick and was later released.
  • Practitioners Arrested in Several Cities of Hebei Province on February 25th

    Around 4:00 a.m. on February 25th, police from the Zhangjiakou Police Department and Jiajiaying Police Station in Xuanhua County broke into Mr. Gao Yanchen's home in Yuantanzi Village, Xuanhua County, and arrested Mr. Gao and his wife Ms. Zhang Xiaoning. Ms. Zhang is being detained in the Jiajiaying Police Station, but Mr. Gao's whereabouts are unknown. About the same time, Mr. Lin (given name unknown) in Nihezi Village, Xuanhua County was arrested at home along with his son. They are being detained at the local police station.
  • Mr. Zuo Fusheng Placed on Trial, Fuzhou Court Officials Violate the Law

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zuo Fusheng was arrested by Fuzhou Public Security Bureau officials on January 19th, 2011. His home was ransacked, and he has thus far been held in the Fuzhou First Detention Centre for over a year. Mr. Zuo's family made repeated requests for his release, then hired a lawyer. Cangshan Court judge Cai Wen prevented the lawyer from visiting his client, Mr. Zuo, and conducted the case following orders from the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). Court officials lied to Mr. Zuo, claiming that the lawyer had not come to see him. The 610 Office then pressured the lawyer and refused to allow him to defend Mr. Zuo at his trial.
  • Atrocities Behind the Products Made by Slave Labour in Inner Mongolia Women’s Prison

    The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Women's Prison, also known as the “Yinghua Garment Factory,” enslaves their detainees, which include criminal inmates and innocent Falun Gong practitioners. The prisoners make uniforms for the Public Security and the Industrial and Commercial agencies. They also adorn embroidery on sweaters, make fringe for scarfs, pick loose wool and small objects off sweaters, package disposable chopsticks and toothpicks, and sort buckwheat. The semi-finished products arrive at the prison, go through a finishing process and become end products with a “Made in China” label on them. Most of the products are exported through foreign trade, including the sorted buckwheat.
  • Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Lu Jinyou Sentenced Twice, Files Second Appeal

    Practitioner Mr. Lu Jinyou was arrested by the Zhuozhou city police more than one year ago. He was sentenced to three years in prison by the Zhuozhou Municipal Court, and a final verdict was approved by the Baoding City Intermediate People's Court. Mr. Lu Jinyou rejected the sentence and has appealed to the Hebei Provincial Higher People's Court as of February 26th. In Mr. Lu Jinyou's appeal letter, he demands that the Provincial Higher People's Court revoke the final verdict, give him a new trial, and make a fair judgment. He also demands that the courts repair the social impact caused by the framing of Falun Gong practitioners and restore their reputation.
  • Mr. Li Decheng from Gaizhou City Recently Sentenced Again

    Mr. Li Decheng, 66, is a practitioner from Gaizhou City in Liaoning Province. He has previously been sentenced twice due to his belief in Falun Gong, totalling 9 years. On February 24th, officials at Gaizhou Court sentenced him to another 6 years in prison. When Mr. Li's family told the court to provide evidence for their decision, they were made to leave the court. Mr. Li later appealed.
  • Ms. Du Xiaoli from Anhui Province Arrested Four Months Ago

    On November 12th, 2011, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Du Xiaoli was arrested at home by police from Jiaopo Town Police Station. The police confiscated her computer and printer. Du has now been detained nearly four months. Intending to persecute her further, Funan County Police Department personnel have submitted the materials they prepared to sentence her to the Procuratorate.
  • Mr. Liang Weisheng Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liang Weisheng was sentenced to five years in prison by the Shunyi District Court on December 20th, 2011. On April 26th, 2011, Mr. Liang's downstairs neighbour deceived him into opening his door by claiming to have come to borrow some tools. As soon as the door was opened, about 20 police rushed in and arrested Mr. Liang and his wife. They ransacked Mr. Liang's home until dawn, and took his computer, printer, Falun Gong books and informational materials and other personal belongings. Mr. Liang was taken to the Nihe Detention Centre.
  • Mr. An Renrong from Wuyishan City, Fujian Province, Tortured and Interrogated by Police

    Police from the Domestic Security Bureau of Wuyishan City, Fujian Province arrested practitioner An Renrong on December 27th, 2011. The police ransacked his home, and then tortured, interrogated, and arrested him. An Renrong explained the facts about Falun Gong to the police again and again and asked to be released, since he was innocent. He later held a hunger strike for 22 days. On January 17th, 2012, he was released on bail. The Domestic Security Division is still constantly harassing him.
