  • Brutality Against Falun Gong Practitioners at Gangbei Prison

    Gangbei Prison has been an evil place where the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes practitioners. As a result of torture, some practitioners died, some were disabled, and some suffered mental collapse. Practitioner Mr. Li Xiwang was sentenced to 8 years of imprisonment and suffered all sorts of torture in Gangbei Prison. He was handcuffed and hung up for 28 days, which caused him to become incontinent. He was once again arrested on December 21st, 2010 and taken back to Gangbei Prison on July 18th, 2011. In just 10 days, he died after being subjected to various tortures including being chained to the floor.
  • Ms. Li Shanshan Arrested by Tangshan Domestic Security Division

    Ms. Li Shanshan is a Falun Gong practitioner and is the wife of Mr. Zhou Xiangyang. Police, in collaboration with Gangbei Prison in Tianjin, arrested her and her husband on March 5th, 2011. Ms. Li openly spoke out about her husband's detention in Gangbei Prison after she was released. She wrote an open letter to appeal for her husband, stating that he had been wrongly sentenced and was suffering terribly. This letter, entitled “A Young Couple's Journey: Zhou Xiangyang's Fiancee Appeals Seven Years for His Release,” was published and carried by multiple media outlets outside of China. Many people from Mr. Zhou's hometown were moved after reading the letter, and signed a petition originated by Ms. Li to demand his release. As of late September, nearly 2,300 people have signed the petition.
  • Mr. Mu Yadong and His Wife from Pingdingshan City, Henan Province Arrested and Their Home Ransacked

    On October 14th, Mr. Mu Yadong and his wife (a non-practitioner) were arrested by police while on their way to drop off their daughter at school. Their home was ransacked, and the police confiscated a desktop computer, two laptop computers, two mobile phones, several dozen copies of Falun Gong books, and the couple's minivan. Mr. Mu and his wife were taken to the Pingdingshan City Detention Centre on the morning of October 15th. Since October 14th, Mr. Mu has been on a hunger strike to protest their arrest. He is currently very weak and in critical condition. On the morning of November 1st, he was sent to the Pingdingshan City No. 2 Hospital to receive emergency treatment.
  • Ms. Yu Libo Dies After Being Imprisoned for Eight Years

    Ms. Yu Libo died on October 31st, 2011, after enduring eight years of imprisonment. After she died, her eyes and mouth remained open, and blood was visible around her mouth. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong caused her and her family tremendous pain and grief. Ms. Yu was arrested in June 2001 as she was distributing Falun Gong informational flyers in a residential area. The police kicked, punched, and pulled out Ms. Yu's hair. During her detention, guards made Ms. Yu sit on the so-called torture device tiger bench for two days and one night, with metal rods fixing her legs in one position. The guards took turns beating her when they questioned her.
  • Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Repeatedly Persecutes Elderly Fujian Woman for Practising Falun Gong

    Ms. Chen Saiyu, 75, started practising Falun Gong in 1998, and her five illnesses subsequently disappeared. She has since 1999 been repeatedly persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). In 2001, she was arrested and taken to a brainwashing centre for one hundred days. In 2002 and 2003, she was twice forced to leave her home to avoid the persecution. In 2005, she was sentenced to three years and tortured at the Fujian Women's Prison. Before she was released from the prison in 2008, she was taken to a remote village in Qingliu, Fujian Province and brainwashed there. On June 26th, 2011, she was again taken away.
  • Mr. Yun Haisen from Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Arrested and His Daughter Forced into Exile

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yun Haisen went out by car on the afternoon of August 12th, 2011 with practitioner Ms. Feng Guoru and was arrested by police. Chief officer Gong Chuanxing, together with other officers from the Aohan Banner Domestic Security Team, broke into Mr. Yun's home and confiscated his car and many materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong, including more than ten thousand DVD's and books. As a result, Mr. Yun's daughter was forced into exile.
  • Author and Teacher Mr. Yun Xiao from Wuhan City Arrested

    Police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yun Xiao on October 27th, at the “Full-De Lecture Hall,” where he teaches in Hankou, Wuhan City. The police also ransacked three other locations belonging to “Full-De Lecture Hall” in Wuchang, Hankou, and Huangpo, and took several computers, books, and many items belonging to the students and teachers. The students were ordered to return home. It is still unclear where Mr. Yun Xiao is being detained. Because Mr. Yun practises Falun Gong, Longquanyi District Court officials sentenced him to three years in prison In 2002.
  • Villagers Help Rescue an Engineer; Petition Signatures Increase to Nearly 2,300

    In the past two months, it was reported that 1,500 villagers from Changli County, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, signed a petition to help rescue Mr. Zhou Xiangyang. The number of signatures has now reached 2,294. Mr. Zhou was sentenced to nine years in prison in 2003. In Gangbei Prison, he underwent multiple torture sessions. He was confined in small areas, shocked with electric batons for extended periods, deprived of sleep, and beaten. Even worse, he was bound to the ground with rings for four months. Mr. Zhou went on a hunger strike for a year and a half to protest this treatment. As a result, he became emaciated and was released on medical parole.
  • Thirteen Practitioners Arrested and Harassed in Tonghe County, Heilongjiang Province in the Last Two Months

    From mid-August of this year to the end of October, thirteen practitioners were arrested and harassed, and their homes were ransacked. Among them, Ms. Zhang Guizhi, Ms. Zhang Xiuying, Ms. Yang Xiufen and eight other practitioners are still being held. Police went to the Qinxiangyuan Bakery run by Ms. Zhang Guizhi and Ms. Zhang Xiuying and arrested them. They confiscated 7,000 yuan in cash and property valued over 10,000 yuan, including a computer, without providing any sort of legal document. The two practitioners were taken to the Tonghe County Detention Centre.
  • Heilongjiang Province Prison Administrative Bureau is Responsible for the Untimely Deaths of 64 Falun Gong Practitioners

    Since July 1999, the month when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began its unprecedented persecution of Falun Gong, Heilongjiang Province has been the one that most blindly obeyed the CCP's dictates. Heilongjiang Province became known as the worst place for persecution compared to the rest of the nation. According to statistics published on the Minghui website, 455 practitioners died as a direct result of the persecution in Heilongjiang Province; the highest number of any province in China. Sixty-four were killed, or died as a direct result of torture, while in prison. The Heilongjiang Province Prison Administrative Bureau is responsible for all these deaths and will be held accountable in the future.
  • The Persecution of Practitioners in Urumqi City, Xinjiang Autonomous Region

    Several brainwashing centres were set up in Urumqi City between June and September in 2011. After Falun Gong practitioners are brought to the brainwashing centre, they get locked up in individual rooms with two hired “teaching assistants.” The teaching assistants are there to monitor them. Practitioners are forced to watch videos defaming Falun Gong every day, and have to write negative statements about Falun Gong. They are also forced to read distorted information and lies about the practice. The “teaching assistants” constantly urge practitioners to renounce their belief with threats and deception. Practitioners are constantly physically and mentally abused, and are often subjected to sleep deprivation.
  • Mr. Liu Qingguo and His Wife, Ms. Song Jinfeng, Died After Seven Days of Detention

    Early on the morning of October 24th, police officers in Tonghe County arrested eight practitioners including Mr. Liu Qingguo and his wife, Ms. Song Jinfeng. On November 1st, after seven days of detention, Mr. Liu and Ms. Song both died. They were both about 40 years old at the time of their death. They are survived by their son who is in college. There is currently no further information on the other six detained practitioners.
  • Crimes Committed by Chief of Domestic Security Division in Gongzhuling City, Li Jianqi

    Li Jianqi is the chief of the Gongzhuling City Domestic Security Division in Jilin Province. He arrested practitioners Mr. Li Hui and his wife Ms. Wang Hua, and sent them to jail on fabricated evidence. He later shamelessly stated to their family that the police could arrest innocent people even without evidence, stating that they did not need to follow any laws.
  • The Crimes of Dong Zhiming, a Police Officer in the Songshan District of Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

    Police officer Dong Zhiming has been actively involved in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. In 2009, he was relocated to the Wusan Police Station in the Songshan District. When he first arrived at the new workplace, he said, “I won't do anything but arrest Falun Gong practitioners.” An acquaintance, Mr. Meng, often visited Mr. Zhang's and knew that Mr. Zhang had a site producing Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution at his home. Dong then arrested Meng first, and Meng gave out many names of Falun Gong practitioners. Dong Zhiming ransacked the homes of the arrested Falun Gong practitioners.
  • Mr. Li Changrong from Hong'an County, Hubei Province Arrested and Detained Again

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Changrong has been persecuted many times. He was recently arrested and detained again. Mr. Li was subjected to long-term detention, brainwashing and sentencing. Mr. Li has spent most of the past ten plus years in detention. The Chinese Communist Party agents employed all kinds of persecution methods on Mr. Li; the most heinous is injecting him with unknown substances. Even while being abused so severely, Mr. Li has remained steadfast in his belief in Falun Gong.
