Officers from the Wenbao Police Department and Domestic Security Division in Wuhan City arrested Mr. Yun Xiao on October 27th, at the “Full-De Lecture Hall,” where he teaches in Hankou, Wuhan City. The police also ransacked three other locations belonging to “Full-De Lecture Hall” in Wuchang, Hankou, and Huangpo, and took several computers, books, and many items belonging to the students and teachers. The students were ordered to return home.

Mr. Yun Xiao, originally named Wang Xueming, graduated from Sichuan Normal University with a major in Chinese Language and Literature and earned a Master's degree in education from Southwestern Normal University. He was a member of the Sichuan Writers' Union, as well as the council of the Longquan Writers' Union. Because he practises Falun Gong, Longquanyi District Court officials in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, sentenced him to three years in prison on August 5th, 2002. Longquan Educational Department fired him from his job at the Damian Middle School in March 2000. Mr. Yun Xiao later worked at Full-De Lecture Hall in Wuhan City, supervising and training students in essay writing skills, and is highly regarded by his students and their parents.

Mr. Yun Xiao was one of the “Eleven Network Prose Writers” selected in 2008, and has authored several books, including "Lao Zi's" Righteous Way and Contemporary Wrong Path and King Yue, as well as a collection of his own articles on education. He has published more than 100 articles, poems, and verses in numerous journals, and compiled and published several college textbooks.

It is still unclear where Mr. Yun Xiao is being detained.
