Mr. Deng Jiangang Dies from Abuse in Wumaping Prison
2012-08-14
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Deng Jiangang, from Pengshan County, Meishan City, Sichuan Province, was sentenced in 2008 to five years in prison. He was abused in the Wumaping Prison and was in critical condition. He was recently released. He died on July 18th in excruciating pain only one month after his release. He suffered many symptoms, including symptoms of being poisoned. -
Ms. Wang Guanrong Tortured to Death in 2009 in Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province
2012-08-14Ms. Wang Guanrong was from Shuangyashan City in Heilongjiang Province. The communist regime sentenced her to 12 years of imprisonment in September 2003 and held her in a detention centre. Officials tortured her for more than 50 hours, including depriving her of food and water, having her maintain the “flying an airplane” position, cuffing her hands behind her back, stomping on her feet, kicking her in the knees, etc. Ms. Wang died at a local hospital in April 2009. She was 53 years old. -
Elderly Ms. Zhang Xiuzhi Dies As a Result of Physical Abuse and Torture Suffered in Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison
2012-08-14Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Xiuzhi, 68, was sentenced to imprisonment and held in the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison for nearly five years. Physical abuse and torture caused her to be unable to take care of herself. After she was released, she could no longer eat and food had to be instilled into her stomach through a syringe to sustain her life. After Ms. Zhang returned home from prison, her family saw that she had suffered a mental collapse. She cried and laughed uncontrollably. Her facial expressions were abnormal. Her family suspected that she had been injected with or forced to take toxic drugs in prison. She passed away in the spring of 2012. -
Seventy-Four-Year-Old Former Head Nurse from Heilongjiang Province Imprisoned for Nine Years and Dies as a Result of Prolonged Abuse and Torture
2012-08-10Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Xiuyue, 74, former head nurse at Heilongjiang Provincial Hospital, was imprisoned in the Heilongjiang Women's Prison for 9 years. Nine years of imprisonment, physical abuse and torture caused Ms. Wang to be constantly hunched over, she could not walk, and she lost the ability to take care of herself. Thus she was qualified to be released for medical reasons, but the officers from her neighbourhood police station hindered the process. She was eventually released on medical parole in 2011 but passed away on July 20th, 2012. -
Mr. Liu Yunchao, 56, from Wuhan Dies As a Result of Abuse and Torture in Fanjiatai Prison
2012-08-10Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Yunchao from Wuhan died at the age of 56 on July 7th, 2012. Mr. Liu had been mentally and physically abused for many years. Before he died, he lost most of his eyesight, could not speak, and was unconscious. His body had many scars from beatings that he suffered while he was in prison. His legs, hands, and back were dark blue. Mr. Liu had been incarcerated in Fanjiatai Prison for three years, where he was tortured and almost died. It was suspected that he was subjected to forced drug administration. -
39-year-old Mr. Lian Yikun Dies after Only Two Months of Incarceration in Suihua Forced Labour Camp
2012-08-03On July 14th, 2012, the family of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lian Yikun was shocked to learn the news that Mr. Lian died in Suihua Forced Labour Camp. He had been held there for only two months and was believed to be in good health when he was first incarcerated. Previously, Mr. Lian was held in the Yichun City Forced Labour Camp for one year in 2000, after going to Beijing to appeal for the right to practise Falun Gong. Afterwards he had to leave home to avoid further persecution. Because his identification card had been confiscated by the authorities, he experienced great difficulties in life and work. Mr. Lian returned home on April 26th, 2012, to apply for an identification card. However, he was arrested. He was taken to the Suihua Forced Labour Camp in May. -
Ms. Jin Changlan, 68, from Weifang City, Shandong Province Died as a Result of Persecution
2012-07-27After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started to persecute Falun Gong in 1999, Ms. Jin Changlan, 68, held firm and believed in Falun Gong. Because she continued to clarify the facts about Falun Gong, the Weifang Police frequently persecuted her. Ms. Jin's sudden death was the result of long term, relentless persecution. She was arrested multiple times and had lived in fear in an unstable environment for a long time. The arrest and ransacking of her home on February 28th, and being forced to attend brainwashing sessions, finally led to her death on May 31st, 2012. -
Mr. Yu Xuezhong Persecuted to Death in Gaoxin Police Station
2012-07-20The Jilin City Police Department launched a mass arrest of Falun Gong practitioners on the night of May 29th, 2012. Police ransacked practitioners' homes and seized their money and other items. Officers from the Gaoxin District Police Station went to practitioner Mr. Li Wenjun's home, and arrested Mr. Li as well as practitioner Mr. Yu Xuezhong, who happened to be visiting Mr. Li. Mr. Yu was beaten for not disclosing his name. He died the next day, May 30th, at the age of 53. -
Several Practitioners Arrested in Liaoyuan, Mr. Yu Jianhua Dies
2012-07-20Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Yu Jianhua and his wife, Ms. Yang Lianzhen, from Changchun City, Jilin Province, were harassed by police, who were banging on the door of their newly rented apartment for a long period of time, on July 1st, 2012. In order to avoid arrest, the two practitioners started to climb down from their second level apartment. However, they both fell to the ground. They were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. Mr. Yu died on July 4th. Ms. Yang is still in a coma and is in critical condition. -
Ms. Li Jiaju, 58, Passes Away after Injection with Unknown Drug at Brainwashing Centre
2012-07-20Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Jiaju, 58, and her husband were arrested after their home was broken into by police and officials in May, 2011. They were then sent to the Chenzhou City Beihu District Party School Brainwashing Centre. Ms. Li resisted the persecution by going on a hunger strike. Two weeks later, the brainwashing centre party officials administered an unknown IV fluid into Ms. Li and released her afterward. Ms. Li appeared to be physically weak after being released. After the 2012 Chinese New Year, Ms. Li started to have heavy bleeding with clots. It became more and more frequent to the point that she became bedridden. On April 16th, 2012, Ms. Li passed away. -
Pharmacist Mr. Gao Shouhai from Shaanxi Province Dies as a Result of Persecution in Weinan Prison
2012-07-10Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Gao Shouhai, 48, died on May 15th, 2012 after he had been physically abused and tortured in Weinan Prison for nearly 4 years. Over the past few years, team lead Zhang Zhongqiu instigated ruthless criminal Su Mingying, whose nickname is “the beast,” to severely physically abuse and torture Falun Gong practitioners. The prison authorities have tightly blocked news of Mr. Gao's death. Information about his death and details regarding the persecution he was subjected to are being investigated. -
Police Cover-up Suspected in Death of Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Wang Diansong
2012-07-10A Falun Gong practitioner, Ms. Wang Diansong, was killed on the evening of May 12th, 2012. Police suppressed the news and have been refusing to provide any information to the victim's family. Police then arranged for Ms. Wang's family to visit the hospital, where they were told of Ms. Wang's death and that an autopsy had been done on May 13th. The autopsy and photos revealed that Ms. Wang had sustained fractures to her clavicle, had injuries on the back of her head and face, had swollen lips, and had bled from the nose and several other places. The forensic examiner concluded she died as a result of being struck with a blunt object. -
Mr. Yu Xuezhong, 53, Dies in Detention One Day after His Arrest
2012-07-06The Jilin City Police Department organised a large-scale arrest of Falun Gong practitioners on the evening of May 29th, 2012. Many police cars were seen on the streets. The police broke into practitioners' homes, harassing and arresting them, and confiscating personal belongings. More than 20 practitioners were arrested and their homes were ransacked. Mr. Yu Xuezhong was visiting Mr. Li Wenjun when police broke into Mr. Li's home. Mr. Li and Mr. Yu were both arrested and taken to the Gaoxin Police Station. They were both interrogated. Mr. Yu died the next day, on May 30th. His family has received the official death notice from the authorities. The details of his death are to be investigated. -
Anaesthetist Chen Meili, 67, from Nanchang City Tortured to Death
2012-07-06Ms. Chen Meili was arrested in 2004 and sentenced to eight years in prison by Nanchang City Xihu District Court, because she was a Falun Gong practitioner. In June 2009, after suffering in prison for five years, Chen Meili was finally released. She was traumatised both mentally and physically due to the torture. Chen Meili passed away on March 6th, 2011 at the age of sixty-seven. -
Ms. Wang Xia from Inner Mongolia Dies after Being Tortured
2012-07-03Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Xia was arrested at home on April 27th. On May 12th, she was sent to a hospital for emergency treatment for kidney failure. She was later taken back to the detention centre. Her family's request that she be released on medical parole was approved; however, the centre refused to release her. On June 7th, Ms. Wang had a second kidney crisis and failure of other internal organs. She also suffered from a brain hemorrhage and sank into a coma. Two days later, on June 9th, the detention centre authorities notified her family to come visit her. Ms. Wang died on June 15th at the age of only 38, leaving behind two young children.
