Case Specifics Point to Reason of Death: Organ Harvesting

The global condemnation of forced organ harvesting in China is on the rise, yet the magnitude of this heinous state-sanctioned crime is still to be fully exposed. For the Falun Gong practitioners who are being persecuted in China, more and more specifics point to a likely reason for some death cases—organ harvesting. Mr. Peng Min's case is one such example. One day after being injected with unknown drugs, Mr. Peng died at a hospital on April 6th, 2001. Prior to that, the hospital had performed an unauthorised surgery on him, after he became paralysed due to torture. The surgery left him with a large hole in his lower back, which was never treated. -
Ms. Xiu Jinqiu Persecuted to Death
2013-12-19Ms. Xiu Jinqiu handed a Falun Gong pamphlet to a female officer in the Linjiang Community, Dandong City, on September 5th, 2013. This officer reported her, and Ms. Xiu was arrested and tortured. She was released and left her home to avoid being arrested again. She, her husband, and their daughter were arrested on September 9. Her health deteriorated after that. She lost consciousness on November 16th and passed away on November 28th at the age of 52. -
Ms. He Chengyu from Sichuan Province Dies as a Result of Abuse and Torture in Detention
2013-12-19Falun Gong practitioner Ms. He Chengyu, a 54-year-old farm labourer, was arrested on May 6th, 2012, and was sentenced to five years in prison. She was persecuted severely while held at the Dazhou City Detention Centre and the Yangmahe Prison in Jianyang City. She died in November 2013 as a result of torture. -
Accountant Arrested, In-Laws Appeal for His Release, Father-in-Law Dies from Grief and Anger
2013-12-14Mr. Chen Fu was arrested on July 19th, 2013, because he practises Falun Gong and had talked with people about Falun Gong and the persecution. This had a tremendous impact on his family, as they rely solely on his income. His elderly in-laws appealed for his release to no avail. His father-in-law died one month later from grief and anger. -
1.5 Million Signatures Delivered to the UN Call for Action Against Organ Harvesting in China
2013-12-10International Human Rights Day falls on the 10th of December each year, and a significant event set the stage for the occasion at the United Nations. A petition bearing a remarkable 1.5 million signatures was delivered to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). The petition asks the UN to initiate further investigations into forced organ harvesting from imprisoned Falun Gong practitioners in China, and to call upon China to immediately end this crime against humanity. -
Ms. Liu Meizhang Passes Away After Three Arrests in Three Years
2013-12-02Ms. Liu Meizhang, 69, was taken to the Mishan Brainwashing Centre on June 25th, 2013, by the local 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). She was released five weeks later, but was still required to report to the centre on a weekly basis. She died on the morning of November 8th, 2013, after having been arrested three times in three years for her peaceful belief in Falun Gong. -
Ms. Wang Xiuqing Dies After Enduring 14 Years of Persecution
2013-12-02Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Xiuqing was arrested and detained many times, sentenced to forced labour twice, and routinely threatened and harassed for maintaining her spiritual belief. In early July 2013, police came to Ms. Wang's home and took her to the Amuer Police Station. The police threatened and intimidated her, ignoring the fact that Ms. Wang was in an extremely fragile condition, unable to walk, and had difficulty breathing. She passed away on July 18th, at the age of 44, after enduring over 14 years of persecution. -
Former Manager of a Forest Products Company Persecuted to Death in Prison
2013-12-02Mr. Li Shangshi, 65, was arrested in 2004 and sentenced to a 14-year prison term. He was first held in the Fushun City No. 2 Prison and later in the Shenyang City No. 1 Prison in 2008 and held in the strictly monitored division. He was tortured in many ways and was forced to do hard labour. Once he was on a hunger strike for 28 days. He was tied to the death bed for force-feeding. His stomach was damaged with the feeding tube. He was persecuted to death on November 22nd, 2013. -
Mr. Li Runhui, 68, Huabei Oilfield Retiree, Dies after Years of Persecution
2013-11-26Mr. Li Runhui, 68, was arrested seven times because he practised Falun Gong. He was sentenced to a seven-year term in 2009 and held in Jidong Prison. He was later released on medical parole after he developed heart disease and pulmonary oedema (excess fluid in the lungs) and was on the verge of dying. The 610 Office officials (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) kept harassing, pressuring, and threatening Mr. Li while he was on medical parole. Unable to recover under such torment, Mr. Li passed away on August 21st, 2013. -
Mr. Zhao Bin Tortured to Death in Prison after Former Classmates from Taishan Medical College Report Him to the Police
2013-11-24After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began its persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Zhao Bin was arrested, tortured, and harassed. He was fired from his job because he refused to give up his belief. His wife also divorced him. Whenever he had a chance, he told people the truth about Falun Gong and the persecution. As a result, Mr. Zhao was arrested on April 27th, 2012 and later sentenced to four years in prison. Within two months in the prison, he was tortured to death on October 19th, at the age of 58. -
Prison Refuses to Cooperate with Lawyers Concerning Mr. Fang Zhengping's Death
2013-11-12Mr. Fang Zhengping from Xichang City, Sichuan Province, was persecuted to death at the age of 57 in the Yunnan Province No.1 Prison around June 2013. Mr. Fang was arrested in 2007. He was then sentenced to 7 years in prison by the Suijiang County Court. His parents have hired two lawyers to sue the prison and demand compensation from the state for their son's wrongful death. The prison authorities have refused to cooperate with the lawyers, obstructing their investigation of the case. -
After 10 Years in Prison, a Former Teacher Sent to Brainwashing Centre
2013-11-05Falun Gong practitioner and former teacher, Mr. Liu Xifeng, was recently arrested and taken to the Shenzhen Brainwashing Centre. Previously, Mr. Liu was detained in the Guangdong Sihui Prison for more than a decade. The abuse and torture in the prison rendered him physically disabled. Mr. Liu's wife, Ms. Wang Xiaodong, was an outstanding teacher at the Nanshan Foreign Language School. She died several years ago after being tortured in the Nanshan Detention Centre. -
What Really Happened to These Two Falun Gong Practitioners?
2013-11-05The Epoch Times , a Chinese newspaper that is not controlled by the Chinese regime, reported that it appears that Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xia Junfeng's organs were removed and sold for profit, and netizens in China have recently started to pay attention to his case. After reading about Mr. Xia's death, it occurred to me that the organs of Mr. Li Baishun, a practitioner who died as a result of the persecution, could also have been removed and sold for profit. -
Older Mr. Bao Wenjun Died after Years of Torture, Harassment and Imprisonment
2013-10-31Mr. Bao Wenjun, a Falun Gong practitioner, died after suffering years of persecution. Prior to his death, he was tortured many times, detained in a labour camp and was in a prison for five years. Further information will be provided once it becomes available. After Mr. Bao was released from the No. 5 Prison in Xinjiang at the end of 2012, he was arrested again for distributing Falun Gong materials exposing the persecution. He was held at the local police station in Bachu County and then transferred to the Makit County Detention Centre. -
Businessman Dies within Two Months of Incarceration at Shanghai's Tilanqiao Prison
2013-10-31Mr. Zhao Bin, a Falun Gong practitioner from Shandong Province, died within two month of being detained at Tilanqiao Prison, Shanghai, on October 19th, 2013. He was 58 years old. According to reports published on Minghui, Tilanqiao Prison is called the “City of Death,” because Falun Gong practitioners are tortured there, and a number of practitioners have died as a result. Torture methods include long-term sleep deprivation and beatings with multiple electronic batons. The prison guards order other inmates to brutally beat practitioners.
