  • His Entire Family Persecuted, Mr. Liu Zhanyu, 57, from Inner Mongolia Dies

    Mr. Liu Zhanyu died on January 18th, 2013, in Yingkou City, Liaoning Province. His death was the result of years of brutal persecution by the Chinese Communist regime at the Weiningying Forced Labour Camp, simply because he and his family upheld their belief in the peaceful cultivation practice of Falun Gong. before his death, as a result of severe repeated torture, Mr. Liu's right arm became disabled. He lost his memory because of the electrical shocks and also from being beaten frequently on his head. Mr. Liu was so traumatised by the persecution that he was unable to recover his health.
  • Mr. Li Riqing Died in 2008 at a Psychiatric Hospital

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Riqing was arrested three times by police for practising Falun Gong. He was sent to Xiangtan Psychiatric Hospital each time for long-term torture. He died there as a result of torture in 2008, at the age of 56. In 2000, Mr. Li was arrested for appealling against the persecution of Falun Gong and sent to the Xiangtan Psychiatric Hospital. When he refused to renounce Falun Gong, medical staff and force fed Mr. Li and injected him with antipsychotic drugs, shocked him with electric batons, and handcuffed and beat him.
  • Mr. Zeng Haiqi Dies from Torture at Jinshi Prison

    Mr. Zeng Haiqi was a Falun Gong practitioner from Hunan Province, China. He was sentenced to prison for practising Falun Gong and died in prison on April 26th, 2013. His family received a call from Jinshi Prison on April 25th that he was dying from cirrhosis and renal failure. Mr. Zeng's family was puzzled, as he had been perfectly healthy ever since he started practising Falun Gong. When Mr. Zeng's family saw his body, they saw injuries all over it. His body was swollen. There were bruises on his upper body. There was blood on his genitals and on his buttocks. His family was outraged, “He must have died a most painful death!” His family demanded a thorough investigation, but the prison insisted on examining the body for 20 days first.
  • Mr. Liu Wenwei, former Harbin Railroad Procuratorate Employee, Persecuted to Death

    Once employed at the Harbin Railroad Procuratorate, Mr. Liu Wenwei began to practise Falun Gong in 1999. During the past 13 years, he was detained three times, sentenced to three years of forced labour, and taken to a brainwashing centre twice. His home was ransacked four times, and he was monitored for a long period of time. He was also re-assigned to a new job at work. On November 11th, 2012, at the age of 51, he passed away a few days after he was released from the brainwashing centre.
  • Mr. Qian Fajun Dies after Torture in Shandong Forced Labour Camp

    Mr. Qian Fajun could not take care of himself after he returned home from the Shandong No. 2 Men's Forced Labour Camp in January 2012. His health kept deteriorating, and he died on April 17th, 2013, at the age of 44. Mr. Qian was arrested at home in September 2011 and taken to the Linyi Brainwashing Centre. Brainwashing centre head Su Wei force-fed him as a means of torture and laced his food with poisonous substances, which left him in a severely debilitated physical condition. After he was sent to the forced labour camp Mr. Qian started a hunger strike to protest the persecution and was force-fed for long periods of time.
  • Firsthand Account of the Brutal Brainwashing Tactics at Xili Brainwashing Centre, Written by Ms. Zhang Fuying Before Her Death

    Ms. Zhang Fuying died as a result of persecution on February 18th, 2013. Her handwritten manuscript exposing the persecution she experienced at Xili Brainwashing Centre in 2006 was found in her remaining belongings and is presented here. The atrocities conducted by the Xili Brainwashing Centre leading to her death are still being investigated.
  • Investigation Lead: In 2006 Luo Qintian of Chengde, Hebei Province Had Two Liver Transplants within Ten Days

    Luo Qintian, a driver for the Agricultural Bank of Chengde, Hebei Province, went to a local hospital in January 2006 and was told he had to have a liver transplant or he would die. Mr. Luo chose to have a liver transplant. His liver transplant surgery was done immediately. After a few days, the surgery was confirmed to be a failure. Luo had the second surgery, which also was a failure. The source of organs is suspicious when two matching livers were obtained within ten days.
  • Suspicious Circumstances Surrounding the Death of Ms. Shan Muzhi from Jiujiang City

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Shan Muzhi from Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, never returned after leaving her home around 6 p.m. on February 25th, 2013. Her family called the police department the next day to make inquiries and was told by an officer to “go look for her at the Hejiashan Crematorium!” The family was also told that she died of a heart attack. When the police realized, as they were taking her to the hospital, that she had already died, they decided to take her to the crematorium instead.
  • Wife Followed and Monitored by Police after Her Husband Died

    Falun Gong practitioner, Mr. Li Hongkui, from Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province died as a result of persecution on August 28th, 2012. The local officials followed and monitored Mr. Li's family, fearing that they would appeal to higher authorities. On March 8th, 2013, Ms. Bai Qun, Mr. Li's wife, went to a hospital to fetch some medicine, when she found that three people were following her.
  • Mr. Jiang Xiqing Cremated Alive, His Children Seeking Justice

    Over six hours after Mr. Jiang Xiqing was pronounced dead by the guards at the forced labour camp, at around 10:10 p.m. on January 28th, 2009, his children found his philtrum, chest, abdomen, and thighs still warm. They were astonished, and cried out, “Our father didn't die. He is alive!” “Hurry up, please save our dad! Save our dad! He is still alive!” The children tried to apply CPR, but over two dozen guards from the forced labour camp forcibly dragged Mr. Jiang's body out of the cold storage of the funeral home. His daughter has been seeking justice for my father ever since, and have been threatened and detained for hiring a lawyer.
  • Elderly Practitioner Imprisoned, His Wife Passes Away from Stress

    Mr. Li Jinsheng, 73, posted some Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution along the roadside on September 11th, 2012, . He was arrested and taken to the Yinchuan Police Station and then sent to to the Tongjiang Detention Centre. Mr. Li's wife, Ms. Zhou Guilin, 65, was also arrested and taken to the police station. Mr. Li was sentenced to three years in prison, and was taken to Jiamusi City Prison. When Ms. Zhou heard that her husband had been sentenced, she was so upset that an old illness recurred. She was rushed to the hospital on February 12th and passed away on February 23rd, 2013.
  • Yongchuan Prison in Chongqing Draws Blood from Unwilling Falun Gong Practitioners

    Over 100 Falun Gong practitioners have been brutally persecuted in Chongqing Yongchuan Prison since July 1999. At least five were persecuted to death. Every year the prison draws blood from practitioners against their will. Since knowledge of forced organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has become widespread, Yongchuan Prison's intentions seem clear.
  • Ms. Shan Muzhi from Jiujiang Dies in Police Custody

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Shan Muzhi left home around 6 p.m. on February 25th, 2013. She was reported to the police around 8 p.m. while she was posting leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong near the Jiujiang Technical Secondary School. Police officers arrested her. According to an eyewitness, Ms. Shan fell down during the arrest. Ms. Shan's family called the police department to ask about her the next day. One officer yelled, “Go find her at the Hejiashan Crematorium!” Her family later told local practitioners that Ms. Shan had died from a heart attack. When she died on the way to the hospital, the police decided to take her to a crematorium instead.
  • Falun Gong Practitioner Chang Guiyun Dies on March 8th, Never Recovering From the Effects of Sustained Abuse in Prison

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chang Guiyun was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2008. She was incarcerated in the Heizuizi Women's Prison in Changchun City. Due to ongoing torture and abuse in the prison, she suffered a stroke and became partially paralysed, unable to take care of herself. She eventually lost all her teeth, her face was permanently disfigured, she could not speak clearly and her hair turned white. She was finally released on medical parole in 2012 and died on March 8th, 2013, at the age of 62.
  • Ms. Lei Jinxiang Dies Suddenly in Prison; Body Cremated the Same Day

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Lei Jinxiang died at the Sichuan Women's Prison on February 1st, 2013, at the age of 60. The Jianyang Procuratorate forced her family to give consent to let the medical examiner perform an autopsy and cremate Ms. Lei's body on the same day. It is clear that they are trying to cover up whatever happened at the Sichuan Women's Prison and destroy evidence.
