Ms. Guo Boqin and Her Mother Died from Ruthless Persecution
2013-07-05
Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched the large-scale persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, to the time Ms. Guo Boqin passed away in 2013, she was arrested by authorities and officials of the CCP and detained more than 10 times. She was sentenced twice and spent a total of almost six years in prison. She was fired from her workplace and her wages were dramatically deducted. Her home was ransacked and she was fined and extorted money. While in prison and detention, she was subjected to cruel torture methods such as being handcuffed, confinement to a small cell, force-feedings, beatings, intense slave labour, intense sun exposure, and long-term starvation. -
Mr. Zheng Hongchang Died in April as a Result of Persecution
2013-06-26Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zheng Hongchang died on April 21st 2013, at Xinkang Prison (also called Jinan Police Hospital) at the age of only 37. On September 29th, 2012, Mr. Zheng was near death and could only move his eyes. The authorities still cuffed his hands and legs to the bed. He was fed liquids twice a day and given intravenous fluids. The intravenous fluids kept Mr. Zheng hydrated, according to personnel, but that was all. Mr. Zheng weighed only 55 lbs. -
How the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Interferes with People's Right to Appeal through Violence and Harassment (Part I)
2013-06-23Mr. Tao Hongsheng was a former police officer. He held up a banner with the words “Falun Gong” at Tiananmen Square on December 25th, 1999 and was expelled from work and from the Chinese Communist Party. He was sentenced to three years in the Shijiazhuang Forced Labour Camp. It is hard to imagine what kind of physical and psychological torture and brainwashing he experienced there. As a result of the torture, Mr. Tao's health deteriorated rapidly and within several months, he was on the verge of death. When he was in critical condition, the labour camp authorities panicked and sent him back to his family. Just a few days after he returned home, Mr. Tao passed away. He was only 46 years old. -
Ms. Wu Shuyan Dies After Persecution in Liaoning Women's Prison
2013-06-16Ms. Wu Shuyan, from Dadong District, Shenyang, in Liaoning Province, was unjustly arrested for speaking out about Falun Gong on May 24th, 2006. The six-plus years of physical and mental torment in the prison severely damaged Ms. Wu. She was finally able to return home and be with her family, but unfortunately her peaceful life was short-lived, as six police officers soon came to her home to threaten her. Ms. Wu developed ascites and died on June 2nd, 2013 at age 47. -
Mr. Deng Huaiying Dies in Custody, Beijing Haidian Detention Centre Secretly Cremates His Body
2013-06-11On May 15th, 2013, family, schoolmates, teachers and friends of Mr. Deng Huaiying were shocked and deeply grieved when they heard that he had died in the Haidian Detention Centre. Mr. Deng, who practised Falun Gong, had been missing for 20 days. On May 28th, their grief turned to anger when they learned that his body had been secretly cremated by guards at the Haidian Detention Centre. -
The Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Jilin Province Women's Prison
2013-06-11Ms. Sun Xiuxia, 50, from Changchun City was persecuted to death on April 30th, 2012. She was transferred from the prison to the China-Japan Friendship Hospital for emergency treatment that same day. When her family members were changing her clothes, they found Ms. Sun's lower body very stiff and her lower abdomen stuffed with toilet paper and towels. Fluid was oozing out of her navel and legs. -
Beijing Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested, Mr. Deng Huaiying Dies in a Detention Centre
2013-06-01Many Falun Gong practitioners from Beijing have recently been arrested. Mr. Deng was reported to the police on April 27th, 2013, for distributing materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in the Haidian District of Beijing. He was detained in the Haidian Detention Centre until he passed away on May 15th. His family is currently seeking the cause of his death through the local police. -
Elderly Mr. Ou Jinchu Beaten in Yangjiang Prison, Then Sent Home to Die
2013-05-31Seventy-year-old Mr. Ou Jinchu couldn't move his hands, feet, or even his body when he was released after four years of imprisonment in Yangjiang Prison. He was emaciated, incontinent, bedridden, and couldn't stop shaking. He said that his condition was due to brutal beatings he had received at the prison. Mr. Ou passed away on March 29th, 2013. -
Ms. Liang Xuelin, 55, from Hunan Province Passed Away After Years of Abuse
2013-05-28Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liang Xuelin passed away on September 25th, 2012 at the age of 55 after long periods of torture and abuse in prison. She was unconstitutionally sentenced to five years in Hunan Women's Prison in 2005 where she faced severe torture as a means to force her to renounce Falun Gong. When she finally succumbed to the torture and renounced Falun Gong, she was not only damaged in health, but devastated at heart. She was released in 2008, but never recovered. -
Did Fifty-Nine-Year-Old Mr. Chen Baihe Die as a Result of Being Poisoned in Jidong Prison?
2013-05-25Mr. Chen Baihe, 59, served four years in prison for practising and talking to people about the truth behind the persecution of Falun Gong, despite the Chinese Constitution that states citizens have the right to freedom of religious belief and speech. When he was released in May 2010, his family discovered many alarming things about his health, including dull eyes, reticence, perpetual fatigue and sleepiness, slow response, memory loss, listlessness, weak legs, and red moles on his chest and back turned dark. Mr. Chen collapsed on September 17th, 2012. He was unconscious for 22 hours before he stopped breathing. When his body was cremated, the staff at the crematorium were shocked to see that his ashes were charcoal black. They said, “My goodness, his bones are so dark. He must have been poisoned!” -
Mr. Guo Xiaowen Persecuted to Death in Jinzhong Prison, Shanxi Province
2013-05-25Mr. Guo Xiaowen was a Falun Gong practitioner who was transferred to Jinzhong Prison (also known as Shanxi No. 1 Prison) around March 6th, 2013, where he was brutally beaten, subjected to solitary confinement, force-fed, and otherwise tortured. Within days, on March 12th, he was dead at the age of 40. His family saw two red marks on his head when they were viewing his body. As they were about to lift his clothes and check further, guards stopped them and chased them away. They only stayed with his body for a few minutes. -
Ms. Wang Chunling, 52, of Henan Province Died after Seven Years of Persecution in Prison
2013-05-25Ms. Wang Chunling passed away early in the morning on May 3rd, 2013. She was sentenced to ten years in prison in July 2004 and sent to Xinxiang Women's Prison in Henan. Details of the tortures Ms. Wang endured in prison are unclear. From Ms. Wang's limited recount and the fear on her face when the topic of prison was brought up, one can only speculate on the extent of the brutality. -
An Outstanding Engineer's Sudden, Suspicious Death
2013-05-25Mr. Li Hongkui was a mechanical engineer, who was named “Employee of the Year” over ten years in a row by the municipal and provincial government. Mr. Li was arrested on numerous occasions after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched its persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. He was arrested once again on September 22nd, 2005, and then sentenced to seven years of imprisonment in Daqing Prison. In August 2012, Mr. Li's wife was informed that her husband was in hospital due to a cerebral haemorrhage. On August 28th, Mr. Li was recovering quickly from the operation, yet he died suddenly. His death occurred only 23 days before the end of his prison term. His physician exclaimed, “It's strange. I've never seen anything like this before...” -
Mr. Yu Donghui Passed Away in 2011 after Twelve Years of Persecution
2013-05-25Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yu Donghui was a teacher. He used to suffer from many illnesses, yet after he started practising Falun Gong , his illness symptoms disappeared. After the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999, Mr. Yu endured constant harassment from the Nankang Police Station, the Domestic Security Division, and the Nankang Police Department. He was arrested and detained in the Liaoyuan Detention Centre, Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City, and Shilingzi Prison in Siping City. He was sentenced to nine years in prison on May 12th, 2008. Mr. Yu passed away on December 17th, 2011 as a result of forced labour and brutal persecution in Shilingzi Prison. -
Hebei Police Officer Wang Kun Boasts of Having Used All Torture Methods Published on the Minghui Website
2013-05-12Police officers Cheng Xing and Wang Kun of the Yongnian County Domestic Security Team, Hebei Province are known for their viciousness in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. In 2012, Wang Kun boasted while beating practitioners, “I have used all the torture methods published on the Minghui website. Please feel free to sue me.”
