In Memory of Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Wang Yuhuan from Changchun City, Jilin Province

An October 11th, 2007 news item on the Minghui website [Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net] shocked and deeply saddened me--the death as a result of torture of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Yuhuan. In order to speak out for justice for Falun Gong to the central government leaders and call for a stop to the persecution of Falun Gong, 60-year-old Ms. Wang Yuhuan went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. As a result she was arrested, beaten and tortured many times. A good person who believed in the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" was tortured to death by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP), simply because she exposed the facts of the persecution of Falun Gong. -
Practitioner Ms. Zhang Jingxiu from Yi County, Baoding City, Hebei Province Passed Away as a Result of Continuous Police Mistreatment
2007-10-29Ms. Zhang Jingxiu, 38, benefited physically and spiritually from practising Falun Dafa. In January 2001, she went to Tiananmen Square in Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was arrested and taken to the Yi County Detention Centre. During Ms. Zhang's detention, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) secretary of the Peishan Town government, brought with him about 30 police officers and other officials, and broke into Ms. Zhang's home, smashing several doors and windows with hoes and wooden sticks. All the furniture, cooking utensils, dishes and bowls were smashed. Many items were confiscated. Ms. Zhang was detained for two months and was released after being extorted out of 2,000 yuan. Ms. Zhang was arrested again later several times and sent to a brainwashing centre. She became very ill due to this ongoing abuse, and died in January 2006. -
Practitioner Tortured - Police Chief Responsible for the Arrest Meets Untimely Death
2007-10-28"Paoliao", in Qianxi dialect, is to put handcuffs and shackles on a person, and then use a chain of less then 50 cm. to tie both together. When a person is being "paoliaoed", he would have to keep his body bent at more than 90 degrees if he were to stand. To move from one place to another he has to bend over and slowly inch his way along. Practitioner Chuan Zhiwu was savagely tortured this way for a whole month. Finally he was let up when the district attorney's office did not find sufficient evidence and refused to issue the arrest warrant. During this period, they hit him that his face was bruised and swollen. His neck also swelled badly, so that he was unable to eat. Fu said grimly: " We'll force-feed you if you dare go on a hunger strike." Under such brutal and degrading torture, Chuan very soon turned into a living skeleton. -
Older Ms. Yang Chongyu from Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, Died as a Result of Persecution in a Mental Hospital and Forced Labour Camp
2007-10-27Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Chongyu was 53 years old. She went by train to Beijing in 2001 to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. On the way she exposed the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) use of propaganda and told people how it had framed Falun Gong, and this led to her arrest. Ms. Yang refused to give up her belief in Falun Gong and was sent to Wanchun Mental Hospital. She was forcibly injected with large doses of drugs and was forced to take many unknown drugs in the hospital, which made her suffer mentally and physically. After she returned home, she was often harassed and threatened by the authorities. Ms. Yang Chongyu died on September 12th, 2007. Although she was 1.60 metres (5'3") tall, she weighed a mere 30 kg (60 lbs.). -
Recent Death of Ms. Zhang Mengzhen, from Shandong Province, Persecuted by Over 40 Different Organisations and 200 People

In September 1999, Ms. Zhang Mengzhen was arrested for appealing for Falun Gong and subjected to torture by police officers, one of whom said: "I'll see if your mouth is tougher, or if my electric baton is tougher," and shoved the electric baton into her mouth to viciously shock her. This made her tongue entirely stiff, and her mouth burned and blistered from the electric shocks. On September 1st, 2007, Ms. Zhang did in a car accident. -
Asking the World to Help Discover the Cause for Ms. Wang Yuhuan's Death

On September 24th, 2007, Ms. Wang Yuhuan passed away in the Changchun City Forced Labour Camp Central Hospital. She was detained more than ten times by police. She suffered the torture method of "Tiger Bench" for three days and two nights. Her face was shocked and charred from being beaten with electric batons. Her eyeballs were burnt with cigarettes, and ears punctured with bamboo toothpicks. -
Dafa Practitioner Mr. Cao Hongyan Tortured to Death in Jilin Prison
2007-10-22Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Cao Hongyan was sentenced to eight years imprisonment. On October 9th, 2007, he was tortured to death in Jilin Prison. Mr. Cao was sent to hospital on October 8th, 2007 after he lost consciousness from being tortured in Jilin Prison. When his family rushed to the hospital, they saw that Mr. Cao was intubated and being given oxygen. Mr. Cao was not moving. His left eye was closed, his right eye was half closed, and his mouth was open. After he passed away Mr. Cao's family members changed his clothes, and the corners of his mouth bled. There was a large patch of black bruises at the top of one of his thighs and a round mark on the right side of his chest. When Mr. Cao's family asked about the cause of his death, the police said it was a brain haemorrhage. However, the doctor said they did not confirm the diagnosis and did not even perform cerebral tests. -
Mr. Lin Shanchun Dies as Result of Persecution in Chongqing City
2007-10-2265-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Lin Shanchun was repeatedly abused by police officer Wu Hongquan (male) from the Jingkou Station. Wu arrested Mr. Lin in 2005, causing him to be sent to a forced labour camp, where he was severely injured in both mind and body. His old illnesses recurred, and he could not take care of himself. The Camp Administration refused to spend the money to have him visit doctors, and then, fearing being held responsible, notified Wu Hongquan to pick him up. Lin Shanchun died on September 27th, 2007. -
Mr. Deng Wenyang Tortured to Death in Hebei Province
2007-10-18Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Deng Wenyang lived in Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province. Since the start of the persecution he was arrested and detained at a forced labour camp multiple times. On September 26th, 2007, he was arrested again, and died from mistreatment ten days after being detained in the Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp. Previously in 2000, Mr. Deng also experienced brutal torture in the Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp. Guards and prisoners shocked him with electric batons and old-fashioned hand-crank phones: they attached his four limbs to the phones and cranked the handles nonstop, torturing him until past midnight. -
Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Wang Yuhuan Tortured to Death Following Massive May 9 Arrest in Changchun
2007-10-16Ms. Wang Yuhuan, a Falun Gong practitioner from Changchun City, Jilin Province was arrested along with many other fellow practitioners on May 9th, 2007. The police informed her family of her death on October 9th. Wang Yuhuan was a kind woman in her 60s who did not have much education. She was arrested a dozen times by the Changchun police over the past eight years. She was once tortured on the "Tiger Bench" for three days and two nights, until her anklebones were exposed from the constant grinding of the shackles and the tendons in her arms were torn through repeated beatings. The police shocked her face with electric batons, burned her eyes with cigarettes, and stabbed her ears with bamboo sticks, causing injuries all over her body. -

Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Chen Jianzhong Tortured to Death in Forced Labour Camp

On February 13th, 2007, Mr. Chen Jianzhong was dying in the Changsha City Xinkaipu Forced Labour Camp in Hunan Province and weighed only 80 pounds when taken home by his family. To force him to give up his belief, he had suffered physical assault, sleep deprivation, electric baton shocking, and more than three months of solitary confinement in the labour camp . In August, his health deteriorated further. He passed away on September 14th, 2007, after struggling for survival for about one month. -
Grandparents Die After Repeated Torture, Father Arrested Time and Again, Son Left at Home all Alone -- Practitioners' Family Tragedy in Hebei Province
2007-10-11When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began its persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Yan Haidong and his parents went to Beijing to exercise their constitutional right to appeal to the State Appeals Office. As soon as they arrived at Tiananmen Square, the police arrested them by force. They were beaten up by hired thugs with clubs, belts and boots. In addition, they were forced to work as slaves during the day. They were also subjected to beatings and torture with bamboo sticks, clubs, belts, and whips made of telephone wire. The thugs even burned them with lit cigarettes and also forced them to watch video propaganda against Falun Gong. BothYan's father and mother passed away after constantly facing harassments, imprisonment and threats from officials. -
Practitioner Cao Aihua was Tortured to Death Almost a Year Ago--Her Family Is Still Appealing for Justice
2007-10-08In 20 more days, it will be a year since practitioner Ms. Cao Aihua was tortured to death for practising Falun Dafa. While Ms. Cao's son has kept a vigil for his mother in the funeral home for the past year, her relatives have been continuously trying to appeal for the justice she deserves. Ms. Cao Aihua was sent to the forced labour camp on November 1st, 2006. On November 14th she passed away in hospital. When Ms. Cao's husband was carefully washing her lifeless body, he noticed many dark bruises around her waist that were caused by her being punched. There was also a small-sized pinhole on the side of her lower abdomen that leaked out bloody water. -
Ms. Liu Jianhua of Hunan Province and Ms. Zhao Yazhen of Heilongjiang Province Died As a Result of Relentless Persecution and Torture
2007-10-07When the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began its persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Ms. Liu Jianhua went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of the practice. She was repeatedly arrested and detained over the years. In November 2004, a police officer arrested Ms. Liu while she was on her way to deliver leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. He dragged her by the hair for half a mile. Then he smashed her head against a car door until she lost consciousness because she refused to get in the police car. She was immediately sentenced to two years of hard labour without even notifying her family. After being subjected to physical and mental persecution for many years, Ms. Liu developed high blood pressure and had problems with her heart, lungs and pancreas after being released from the labour camp. She died on September 3rd, 2007.
