Mr. Fan Dezhen Dies in Police Custody in Liaoning Province

Mr. Fan Zhende, 33, was a Falun Gong practitioner had been been detained and violently beaten multiple times. In 2001 he went to Beijing to appeal and was detained in the Huludao Forced Labour Camp for three years. In order to force him give up his faith, several guards shocked him simultaneously with electric batons, and beat him cruelly, causing his whole body to be injured and swollen, and his face to be deformed. On February 25th, 2008, Suizhong County Domestic Security Division Leader Li Changhua arrested eleven practitioners, including Mr. Fan and his wife Yang Xiaoxue. Mr. Fan died at around 7 a.m. on April 20th, 2008 in the Suizhong County Detention Centre. -
Information about the Persecution of Mr. Peng Fangjian, Tortured to Death in 2003 in Sichuan Province
2008-04-29On January 28th, 2003, Mr. Peng Fangjian was arrested by 610 Office agents and detained at Renli Town Police Station. According to inside sources, He was brutally beaten by the officers. Three days later, Mr. Peng was imprisoned at Lingquansi Detention Centre. Mr. Peng began a hunger strike to protest the persecution. He was tortured to death on February 10th, 2003. Someone who had been imprisoned with Mr. Peng at the detention centre said that Mr. Peng had been subjected to brutal torture by prisoners, and that his mouth and nose were always filled with blood. Mr. Peng refused to renounced Falun Gong and his mind was always firm. He was on a continuous hunger strike, and the police brutally force-fed and tortured him. This prisoner also said that he had seen Mr. Peng's body being taken to a car. -
Vicious Police Officers in Qiqihar City Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners (1st Quarter of 2008)
2008-04-28Mr. Xu Linshan, a fifty-seven-year-old practitioner, never stopped believing in the principle of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" and strove to be a good person. Since the onset of the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, he was arrested seven times, detained, sentenced to forced labour, sentenced to prison, and tortured many times. On April 25th, 2002, the Qiqihar police arrested him, ransacked his home and he was sentenced to five years in prison. Mr. Xu Lishan was subjected to various brutal torture methods there, such as being stabbed with a needle and force-fed with highly concentrated salt water. He then developed the following symptoms: oedema, liver cirrhosis, liver ascites, renal failure, and meningitis. Mr. Xu's family took him home in December 2005. He was bedridden until his death on February 11th, 2008. -
Remembering Fellow Practitioner Ms. Zhou Huimin
2008-04-28A few days ago, I learned that Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhou Huimin passed away at Qingyang People's Hospital in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, on March 15th, 2008. My heart broke, and tears ran down my face. She was a good person and was very kind and considerate to others. She died after 198 days of brutal torture. She hoped for the persecution to end soon and for everyone to have a bright future. She lost her precious life because she guarded her beliefs and strove to be a good person. -
Additional Information about Guo Hanpo - Tortured to Death in Baoding Prison
2008-04-24In 2001, Guo Hanpo, 56 years old, was arrested by police because he practises Falun Dafa. He was held for more than one year before finally being sentenced to 11 years of imprisonment. He was detained in the Baoding Prison. Guards and "transformed" people tried to brainwash him. Several prisoners watched him around the clock. He was often confined to his cell for long periods. He was not allowed to have a full meal while doing heavy labour. Several years of torture forced his blood pressure up to 200. Under mental and physical torture, he became emaciated, losing the very healthy and strong body he earlier had. He looked totally different. Later on, although the guards did not force him to do labour, they tortured him mentally. Last year, his family members went to the prison to ask for his release. The prison did not release him until he died. -
Elderly Mr. Qirimailatu Dies in Custody in Inner-Mongolia Autonomous Region
2008-04-24On August 8th, 2007, police arrested Mr. Qirimailatu, 72, for the third time while he was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. They had him sentenced to forced labour again, but the camp refused to admit him due to his advanced age and the physical tests that he failed, so he was detained in Inner-Mongolia Detention Centre. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution on December 6th, 2007. He died after detention centre administrators rushed him to the prison hospital on January 5th, 2008. Information revealed he was as thin as a skeleton and was unable to speak during the time he was detained. -
Older Practitioner Ms. Ye Zhanfen Died as a Result of Persecution in Sichuan Province
2008-04-23Ms. Ye Zhanfen was a Falun Gong practitioner in her 60s. In November 2000, she was taken into custody by the Linqiong Town Police Station for copying Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution. In the station, four to five police officers beat her cruelly, kicking her lower abdomen, electric-baton-shocking her head, and causing her to pass out due to an extreme headache. They tortured her for nine hours, resulting in her becoming incontinent and fracturing her left wrist. There was blood in her stool the entire time she was detained. On June 5th, 2001, she was sentenced to five years in prison. She was released in 2005, but local 610 Office agents still harassed her and she could not live in peace. She died after enduring the persecution for over eight years. -
Two Older Practitioners Ms. Chen Jinfen of Hebei Province and Ms. Sun Huaifeng of Yunnan Province Die as a Result of Persecution
2008-04-23Ms. Chen Jinfen, 68, was a Falun Gong practitioner living in Hebei Province. On February 4th, 2008, she was taken into custody by the Heru Township Police Station. The police ransacked her home and detained her in Changli County Detention Centre. On February 13th, 2008, she felt pain in her leg and discomfort in her chest, and was very weak. Thus, she was released. However, the weakness and aches continued. She died on March 24th, 2008. -
Ms. Wang Minli Tortured to Death at Jilin City Detention Centre, Jilin Province, Other Practitioners Brutally Persecuted
2008-04-22On March 15th, 2007, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Minli was arrested and tortured. She was later taken to the Jilin City Detention Centre, where she was subjected to additional torture. Her family went there on many occasions to request her release, but the guards told them that she was in good health. Shortly before her death, after returning from her last interrogation session, Ms. Wang suffered from incontinence. Every day, she would lie on the floor of the ward, where she was given injections. At noon on June, 19th, 2007, Ms. Wang was tortured to unconsciousness with electric batons. There was a water shortage at the detention centre, but the guards used their entire supply - thirteen basins in all - to pour over Ms. Wang, yet they were unable to revive her. On June 19th, 2007, however, her family was notified that Ms. Wang had passed away. -
Additional Information about Practitioner Guan Wenjiang Who Was Tortured to Death in Liaoning Province
2008-04-22Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Guan Wenjiang was tortured to death on August 5th, 2002 at the Shenyang No.2 Prison. He had been sentenced to 13 years in prison for refusing to renounce Falun Gong. His family found his ears were deformed due to the beatings he sustained. He was only 33 years old. When Mr. Guan died, the 200 yuan in cash that he had in his pocket disappeared. -
Evidence That Mr. Bai Heguo Was Tortured to Death and Did Not Commit Suicide in Nan'guanling Prison, Liaoning Province

On around January 5th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Bai Heguo was tortured to death at the Nan'guanling Prison. It was disclosed that not only was there a bump on Mr. Bai's head, but there was also a cut on his tongue and around his mouth. His leg had been kicked until it was broken, and his testicles had been crushed. He was emaciated. It would appear that Mr. Bai Heguang was beaten to death. However, Nan'guanling Prison agents fabricated "proof" that Mr. Bai had committed suicide. -
Ms. Hu Huoying from Jiangxi Province Detained Again; Her Husband Died as a Result of Persecution
2008-04-20Since 57-year-old Ms. Hu Huoying suddenly went missing while in police custody on February 29th, 2008, her daughter has been unable to discover her whereabouts. Ms. Hu's daughter is extremely worried about her situation. On July 10th, 2007, several agents from the Duchang County Police Department attempted to break into Ms. Hu's home to conduct a search. Ms. Hu blocked the door and stopped them by saying, "You threatened my husband. He died because of your evil deeds. He was just buried yesterday, and within less than a day you come again to harass and persecute me." -
Tragic News about the Xu Family in Pan County, Guizhou Province
2008-04-19Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Dafa in July 1999, the Xu family has been targeted repeatedly. The CCP murdered the family's oldest son, and now, with the loss of the grandson, more pain has been inflicted on the family. On March 12th, 2008, 13-year-old Xu Dingguo passed away after many days of thinking of his parents, who were detained. He didn't even have a final opportunity to see his parents before he died. Guizhou Women's Labour Camp authorities did not allow his mother, Ms. Chen Yumei, to see her son before he died, nor did the Guiyang public security police, the procurator of the Yunyan District, the Baihua Mountain Detention Centre allow his father, Xu Qihua, to see him one last time before he was buried. -
Additional Information about Mr. Chen Baofeng's Death as a Result of Torture

At about 10 o'clock on the morning of March 3rd, 2008, a witness observed a black car arriving at the Wujiawa Detention Centre. Several police officers dragged Mr. Chen Baofeng, 43, out of the back seat. He was extremely weak, and his head drooped. Mr. Chen was without shoes and moaned constantly. According to an insider, he died at noon that day. His family knew that Mr. Chen had been very healthy before the arrest. The only explanation for his death within eight days of arrest was severe torture. -
Ms. Yang Xianfeng Dies under Persecution in Hubei Province

Ms. Yang Xianfeng, 53, was a Falun Gong practitioner who appealed against the persecution and was tortured repeatedly. In detention police subjected her to sleep deprivation, forced her to stand for long periods of time, slapped her repeatedly, injected chilli water into her eyes and mouth, stuffed lit cigarettes into her nose, and stomped on her after smothering her with a blanket. Ms. Yang went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and was brutally force-fed. She lost her life on on April 3rd, 2008.
