Guards in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp Attack Practitioners Who Protest the Persecution
2011-10-13
Guard Yu Jiang from Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang City, about 37 years old, is now the team lead of the No. 3 Team of the No. 1 Jail. He is recognized as one of the most evil, most ruthless “hatchet men” in Masanjia. In order to force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their beliefs, he personally implemented torture methods, including hanging practitioners up in an “airplane style” position, tying them on a death bed, the “stretching” torture, shocking them with 800,000-volt electric batons, smoking their noses with burning newspaper, depriving them of sleep for many days, etc. He has also unscrupulously extorted money from detainees and their families in amounts ranging from several thousand to tens of thousands of yuan, and then claimed the money was his. -
Persecutors at the Laishui County Communist Party School, Hebei Province Continue Detaining Falun Gong Practitioners
2011-10-13The persecutors from the Laishui County 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) in Hebei Province have again detained and attempted to brainwash Falun Gong practitioners at the County Party School. The staff in the brainwashing centre came from the Laishui Judicial Bureau, Cultural Bureau, Education Bureau, and Local Tax Bureau. They were on duty day and night. They forced practitioners to watch videos slandering Falun Gong. They also arrested members of the practitioners' families, forcing them to “help” the persecutors “transform” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] the practitioners. Ms. Song Xiangrui was arrested and her husband and sister-in-law were arrested and taken to the brainwashing centre. -
Practitioner Wang Gang from Harbin Taken to Yichun City Brainwashing Centre
2011-10-13Practitioner Mr. Wang Gang was arrested on August 30th, and taken to Yichun City Brainwashing Centre. Later, the local court sentenced Mr. Wang to three years in prison. Prior to the 2008 Olympic Games, the post office authorities detained Mr. Wang for many days and assigned personnel to monitor him. -
The Local Authorities in Junshan District, Yuyang City, Hunan Province Continue to Arrest Practitioners
2011-10-12610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) officials in Yueyang City, the Domestic Security Division, police stations, the judicial administration offices and the Community Office have been working together to arrest and persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Caisanghu Town Police Station officers arrested Ms. Zhu Chunxiu, 62, while she was at a party on August 7th. She was taken to Junshan Detention Centre, where she was held for five days. Her family members did not know what had happened to her, and only found out about her whereabouts after making numerous inquiries to the local authorities. -
Mudanjiang Railroad Employee Mr. Zheng Jingjiang Taken to the Yichun Brainwashing Centre
2011-10-12On September 6th, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zheng Jingjiang was taken to the Yichun Brainwashing Centre by leaders from his work unit, and police. Another employee, Mr. Zhan Xingchao, who also practises Falun Gong, was arrested on the same day. The Yichun Brainwashing Centre was set up by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities. It is a secret prison specially used to brainwash Falun Gong practitioners in an attempt to force them to renounce their belief. Many Falun Gong practitioners from Yichun have been severely persecuted both physically and mentally in the brainwashing centre. Their basic freedom and human rights are taken away and as part of the brainwashing, practitioners are forced to watch videos and read literature that slander Falun Gong. -
Senior Nurse Arrested Again after Being Tortured in Labour Camp Twice
2011-10-11Former nurse Ms. Wang Lu's home was ransacked soon after she went to Fuyang City to celebrate the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival (September 12th) with her father. She went to the Linquan County People’s Hospital on September 14th, preparing for the admittance procedures and to look after her older brother who suffered a cerebral haemorrhage. However, the police followed and arrested her. She is currently being detained and persecuted in Bengbu City. -
Village Doctor Ms. Liu Yanmei Arrested Again after Having Been Subjected to Torture Numerous Times
2011-10-11Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Yanmei was arrested on September 8th. Her whereabouts are unknown. Previously, Ms. Liu was arrested for distributing materials exposing the persecution of Falun Gong on May 23rd, 2006, and sentenced to three years of forced labour on May 30th, 2006. She was taken to the Shandong Province No.1 Women's Forced Labour Camp and severely tortured. For example, she was forced to stay up all night until the early morning. This regime lasted until she was released in June 2009. The guards tied her to an iron chair and taped her mouth shut for nine days. Her legs and feet swelled terribly. During the first two days her legs and feet hurt, then they became completely numb. -
Twenty-Eight Practitioners Incarcerated in the Nan'an District Brainwashing Centre in Chongqing
2011-10-10Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents in Chongqing organized and instructed government agencies in districts and counties under its jurisdiction to hold brainwashing sessions, in an attempt to force Falun Gong practitioners to renounce their belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. From June 2011 to August 5th, the Nan'an District CCP agents held a brainwashing session at the Nandi Resort. They arrested 28 practitioners and forced them to participate in it. -
Highly Educated Couple from Jilin University Arrested
2011-10-06Dr. Song Zhaoxia and her husband, Dr. Wang Yuejian, were arrested on September 9th, by police. Their son, who attends elementary school, was left at home alone. He has not been to school for many days, because he misses his parents. The couple has been repeatedly persecuted, because both practise Falun Gong. In March 2006, Dr. Wang Yuejian was arrested by police. His home was ransacked and personal belongings were confiscated, including a computer and a printer. After been detained at the Third Detention Centre for one year, he was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labour on March 15th, 2007, by officials from the Public Security Bureau in Changchun City. They admitted him to Fenjin Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City on March 16th. -
Mr. Pan Kaixiang from Hongzhou Arrested
2011-10-06Early on morning of September 7th, Mr. Pan Kaixiang and his wife went outdoors. About 20 people suddenly rushed over and pushed him down, then forced him into a vehicle. They also grabbed the laptop Mr. Pan had brought with him. They did not present any identification nor give Mr. Pan's family any written or oral explanation. Mr. Pan's wife went to the neighbourhood community association to request her husband's release. The neighbourhood community association refused to tell her where Mr. Pan was. -
Persecution Account of Nanning 61-Year-Old Practitioner Ms. He Lingling
2011-10-04Practitioner Ms. He Lingling was arrested by police on August 6th, and her home was also ransacked. Here is an account of the persecution that she has suffered over the years: "Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started persecuting Falun Gong, I've been arrested repeatedly, detained and sentenced to prison. I was brutally tortured in prison and forced labour camp with a variety of methods, including my hands and feet being shackled with heavy metal chains weighing almost 84 pounds at the No.2 Detention Centre; being beaten for five days by drug-addicted inmates under orders of the labour camp guards. I was also hung up for three nights, and tied to a tree twice." -
Ms. Tong Cunshu Arrested when Seeking Justice for Brother
2011-10-04Mr. Tong Ruiqing was arrested by police when he went to a shop to buy fruit on July 10th. Later he was sentenced to one year of forced labour. His sister, Ms. Tong Cunshu, hired an attorney for him. On September 2nd, before she and the attorney were to meet with Mr. Tong, she was arrested by officers from the Nanle County Criminal Division. She is now held at the Daming County Detention Centre. -
Recent Abuse in Hebei Province Women's Forced Labour Camp
2011-10-03Guards abused Falun Gong practitioners last month in the Third Ward of the Hebei Province Women's Forced Labour Camp. The Third Ward is the major money-making unit in the prison. Most of the imprisoned are Falun Gong practitioners. The rest are those who appealed to the central government about local issues. The guards use beating and electric shocks to force all of the imprisoned to work as slave labourers. Their work is demanding. They start at 7:30 a.m., have lunch break at noon, and work again from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Occasionally, they have to work one to two hours overtime. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Liu Xiaohua of Tumen City, Jilin Province is Unjustly Tried
2011-10-03On August 30th, the Tumen City Court of Jilin Province held a trial for Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Xiaohua and did not announce the result. Ms. Liu was arrested by police on March 4th, 2011. Liu Xiaohua was interrogated and tortured for four days and nights around the clock. She was deprived of sleep, had her hands burned by a cigarette lighter, eyes poked, skin burned with a cigarette, head hit with water bottle, and so on. Her buttocks and thighs were seriously swollen, black and blue, and the burn marks are still visible. -
Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Sun Fuqin from Chicheng County, Hebei Province, Subjected to Trial
2011-10-03Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Fuqin is a teacher at the Sanwan Elementary School in Chicheng County. Chicheng County Police Department officers broke into her home on October 14th, 2010. They ransacked it and attempted to arrest her; however, she escaped. On July 2nd, 2011, she was arrested and taken to the Zhangjiakou Detention Centre. On July 5th, her case was re-categorized from a “criminal detention” to an “arrest”, and then sent to a district court. During the trial, while Ms. Sun attempted to defend herself, the judge prevented her from reading her prepared statement, or mention the words “Falun Gong.” Whenever she began to say “Falun Gong,” the judge, Li Xiumei, stopped her by saying, “This is a court. You cannot advocate Falun Gong here.”
