  • Czech Republic: Falun Gong Practitioners Silent Vigil Seen on Television

    On the eve of the Olympic Games in Beijing, the Association of Falun Gong in the Czech Republic organized a 24 hour vigil for dead practitioners of the Falun Gong meditation practice who were killed by the Chinese communist regime. The activity also pointed out that 1.3 million people demand a stop to the persecution of Falun Gong in a world-wide petition.
  • Finland: Falun Gong Practitioners Join Activities at an 'Art Night' in Helsinki

    On the evening of August 22nd, 2008, during Helsinki Art Night, Falun Gong practitioners held activities in Esplanade Park to raise awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Several young female practitioners were wearing beautiful ancient Chinese clothing as they distributed information leaflets and folded paper lotus flowers to the passers-by.
  • Il Giornale (Italian newspaper): Two Falun Gong Practitioners Tortured to Death

    On August 24th, Italian newspaper Il Giornale once again reported the news of Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted to death by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The article said that two Falun Gong practitioners from Shandong Province were tortured to death in prison. 58-year-old Zhong Zhenfu was beaten to death in Pingdu police station. Liu Xiumei from Zhucheng was arrested in July, but 17 days after that Liu died mysteriously. When International News Service (INS) interviewed on these events, the Chinese local officials chose silence.
  • United Kingdom: Falun Gong Practitioners Hold Activities in Cambridge

    On August 23rd, British Falun Gong practitioners held activities in the ancient university city of Cambridge to raise awareness about the facts of the CCP’s brutal persecution of Falun Gong. They hung banners reading "Falun Dafa is Good" and "Stop the Persecution", and called for help to stop the persecution.
  • Czech Minister Dzamila Stehlikova Expresses Support for Falun Gong Practitioners' Appea Before the Olympics

    The Czech Minister for Human Rights and National Minorities, Mrs. Dzamila Stehlikova, sent a statement to support the peaceful 24 hour gathering of Falun Gong practitioners in front of the Chinese embassy in Prague, which they held from 7th to 8th August, on the eve of the Olympic Games in Beijing.
  • United Kingdom: 2008 UK Falun Gong Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference in Cambridge

    On August 24th, 2008, the UK Falun Gong Cultivation Experience Sharing Conference was held in Cambridge, practitioners from all across the UK travelled to attend. About twenty Chinese and western practitioners gave speeches to share their experiences on studying the principles of Falun Dafa well, improving their character and raising awareness about the persecution.
  • Germany: International Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance Art Exhibition Held in Lorranch

    On August 8th, the German Falun Gong Association held an International Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance Art Exhibition in Lorranch. Not only did it draw much attention from politicians, but reporters from the media also came to cover the event. Many people came to see the exhibition one after another.
  • Nord Éclair (French newspaper) Publishes Article about Falun Gong

    Nord Éclair is one of three major newspapers in Northern France Nord-Pas-De-Calais; it published an article entitled "Two Chinese Youths Petitioned in front of The Commercial Centre in the French City of Calais on August 3rd". The article makes the point that people really need to awaken their conscience. Ordinary Chinese people live a life without freedom of speech, the CCP harvests organs from live practitioners.
  • Germany: Raising Awareness about Falun Gong in Nordrhein-Westfalen

    Practitioners held activities in Düsseldorf and Mülheim in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. They raised awareness about Falun Gong, as well as the cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party during the past nine years. Many local people signed a petition supporting an immediate end to the persecution.
  • Belgian MP Demands Unconditional Release of Xu Na

    Xu Na, a Falun Gong practitioner from Beijing and a quite reputable painter, was persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) under the guise of the “Beijing Olympic Games”. Her husband Yu Zhou, a musician in the famous folk band “Xiaojuan & Co - Residents in the Valley”, was persecuted to death on February 6th, 2008, only eleven days after he and Xu Na were illegally arrested on their way home from a music concert.
  • United Kingdom: Raising Awareness about Falun Gong in St. Martins Square London

    On August 18th, 2008, British Falun Gong practitioners held activities in St. Martins Square in central London again to expose the atrocities of the Chinese Communist regime’s persecution of Falun Gong. They condemned the Chinese regime’s escalation of the persecution before the Olympics and urged the general public to condemn the brutality.
  • Spain: Falun Gong Practitioners Invited to Participate in "European Cultural Exchange"

    "European Cultural Exchange" activities held by the European Cultural Centre kicked off on July 5th on Canary Island, a famous coastal tourist attraction in Spain. Spanish Falun Gong practitioners were invited to participate in the activities. Festivalgoers were extremely interested in the Fakun Gong exercises and condemned the bruta persecution in China.
  • Poland: Many Organisations Attend a News Conference to Condemn the Persecution in China

    At 15:00 on August 6th, the Polish Falun Gong Association, The Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong in China (CIPFG), and other NGOs co-sponsored a news conference in Warsaw, appealing to all parties to be concerned about China's human rights situatio. In particular, they raised awareness regarding the increased persecution of Falun Gong before the Beijing Olympics, and issued a public appeal to Polish people to make their voices heard to end the CCP’s comprehensive human rights persecution.
  • Sweden: Swedish Human Rights Organisations Protest against the Persecution of Falun Gong at the Chinese Embassy

    On August 8th, 2008, 1 pm, a rally was held by Reporters without Borders, several Swedish NGOs, as well as MPs. They were there to protest against the Chinese Communist Party’s human rights abuses in the lead-up to the Olympics, including violating the promise about freedom of speech it made to the International Olympics Committee.
  • Finland: Falun Gong Practitioners Commemorate Persecuted Practitioners

    On the evening of August 8th, 2008, Helsinki Falun Gong practitioners held a candlelight vigil on the roadside along the Boulevard la Croisette in the city centre to commemorate the Chinese practitioners who have been persecuted to death by the Chinese Communist regime in mainland China.
