On this occasion, in Bratislava there took place an information gathering, where the public could learn more facts about Falun Gong and the situation of its persecution in China. Many people asked about the exercises and they were happy to learn that Falun Gong is regularly practised in Bratislava. -
Germany: Falun Gong Practitioners Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day

To celebrate the ninth “World Falun Dafa Day” and the sixteenth anniversary of Falun Gong’s spread around the world, Falun Gong practitioners in Germany held celebrations in various places. Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, was made public by Mr Li Hongzhi in 1992. Sixteen years later, Falun Gong is practised by people in over eighty countries and regions around the world. -

On May 10th and 11th, Turkish Falun Gong practitioners from different cities gathered to celebrate the ninth "World Falun Gong Day", which is also the 16th anniversary of Falun Gong's introduction to the world. Some practitioners sat together to fold paper lotus flowers, which attracted many visitors to stop and watch. -

Practitioners demonstrated the exercises near the archaeological site of the Acropolis. As many passersby were taking their Sunday stroll and visiting the archaeological museum and sites and the spring book fair, many stopped to admire and inquire what Falun Gong is. -

During celebrations for World Falun Dafa Day, practitioners raised awareness about the 9-year persecution of Falun Gong, to local residents and tourists from all over the world. After learning the facts, many signed a petition to condemn the persecution. Some people also expressed an interest in learning the Falun Gong exercises. -
France: Interview with Renowned Chinese Human Rights Lawyer who Defends Falun Gong Practitioners

When interviewed at the international conference entitled "Beijing Olympics 2008: Winning Press Freedom,” Guo Guoting, a renowned human rights lawyer who fled to Canada to escape the Chinese Communist regime’s persecution, talked about human right lawyers’ difficult situation in China under the Chinese regime’s atrocities. He mentioned that the Chinese human right lawyers who step forward to defend Falun Gong practitioners for their basic human rights would definitely be persecuted by the regime. -
Spain: Practitioners Introduce Falun Gong to Children in a School in Zaragoza

United Kingdom: World Falun Dafa Day Celebrations in London

Practitioners dressed in golden yellow Tang Dynasty costume performed flowing exercises as dozens of onlookers gathered to watch the Falun Dafa Day activities on Saturday May 10th on the North Terrace, Trafalgar Square, London. A rainbow of coloured balloons arched over a royal blue banner which read: “Celebrating the 16th anniversary of Falun Dafa”. -

Radio France International: Amnesty International Appeals to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to Respect Human Rights

On May 4th, 2008, Radio France International reported that, "According to AFP (Agence France-Presse), on Saturday there were about 1500 people holding a parade and demonstration at the Chinese Embassy in Brussels to appeal to the CCP government to respect human rights. The parade which was organised by Amnesty International conveyed a message that human rights are not a game and appealed to the CCP government to fulfill the promise in respect of human rights, abolish the death penalty, stop harassing dissidents and stop the blockage of the Internet." -
Denmark: April 25th, a Date Impossible to Forget
2008-05-09On April 25th nine years ago, an event occurred in Beijing that amazed the world. Over ten thousand Falun Gong practitioners, according to the rights bestowed by the Chinese Constitution charter, gathered outside the State Council Appeals Office located near Zhongnanhai, the central government compound. Ms. Chen was there and experienced the entire process. Although nearly nine years have passed, it still remains fresh in her memory. -
Norway: Rally to Commemorate the April 25th Appeal and Raise Awareness about the Persecution of Falun Gong
2008-05-08On April 25th, 2008, it happened to be a sunny day with a clear sky in Bodo, a city in Northern Norway in the Arctic Circle. Local Falun Gong practitioners got together to practise the Falun Gong exercises and display photos depicting Falun Gong's spread around the world and the cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China. The activities commemorated the incident nine years ago when over 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners peacefully appealed at the Appeal Office of the State Council in Beijing. -
Sweden: Falun Gong Practitioners and Amnesty International Members Expose the Evil Acts of the CCP

On the afternoon of April 30th, 2008, Falun Gong practitioners from Rebro, along with some Amnesty International members, set up a display together in the middle of the downtown area of Stortorget, in order to raise awareness about the crimes of persecution of Chinese people by the evil CCP. Amnesty were collecting signatures to appeal for the rescue of Falun Gong practitioner Bu Dong Wei. -
United Kingdom: Falun Gong Practitioners Commemorate April 25th

On April 26th, 2008, U.K. Falun Gong practitioners held a rally and parade in London to commemorate the peaceful appeal at the State Appeal Office in Beijing on April 25th, 1999, and urged the international community to help put an end to the nine year long persecution against Falun Gong. The activities lasted for five hours and attracted much attention. -
The Netherlands: Reaching People in the Southern Province of Limburg

The two towns of Heerlen and Hoensbroek in The Netherlands granted Falun Gong practitioners participation in two important events. The activities were to expose the atrocities and crimes by the Chinese Communist Party against Falun Gong practitioners in China and most recently the pre-Olympic mass arrest of practitioners.
