• Stop the Brutal Persecution of Dafa Practitioners at the Masanjia No. 2 Women's Forced Labour Camp

  On August 30th of 2006, a group of Masanjia No. 2 Women's Labour Camp guards moved into the labour camp. They began using various torture methods on steadfast practitioners in order to try to turn them against Dafa. The most unbearable method is "the big hang-up", with one hand cuffed to the upper rung of a bunk bed ladder, and the other hand cuffed to the lower end of the bed head. Both arms are stretched out, one high and one low. The person cannot stand up or sit. Both legs are bound. It is excruciating. During this time, one is forbidden to eat or go to the toilet. Some have no choice but to defecate in their trousers. Practitioner Wang Guiping was hung like this for 30 hours.

• Dafa Practitioner Ms. Gao Yaxian from Shenyang Tortured to Paralysis at the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp

  Due to persisting in cultivating Falun Dafa, practitioner Gao Yaxian was detained at the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. After being tortured for nine months she eventually became paralysed. She was locked in a small cell six times, for as long as three months at a time. The police forced Gao Yaxian to wear only an undershirt at minus thirty degrees in the winter, and stay in the "sardine can" (the solitary confinement cell with four-inch-thick foam covering all four walls). She was repeatedly beaten brutall. To avoid any responsibility, the guards at the camp sent the dying Gao Yaxian to her family members on January 8th, 2005.

• Dozens of Male Police Specifically Dispatched and Stationed at Masanjia Labour Camp to Persecute Female Falun Gong Practitioners

  The most brutal torture method in Masanjia No. 2 Women's Forced Labour Camp is "the great hanging" method. One hand is handcuffed to the upper rung of one bed while the other hand is handcuffed on the lower rung of another bed; with the legs tied, both shoulders are fully extended, one higher than the other, making it impossible to stand or squat. This torture method is extremely uncomfortable; the victims are not allowed to eat or drink, nor visit the toilet. Most soil their trousers. Practitioner Wang Guiping was hung in this position for over thirty hours; her wrists were bleeding and badly bruised. Unable to withstand the torture, she was compelled to write the three statements renouncing the practice.

• Ms. He Qing Tortured for 100 Days Straight in Shijiazhuang Forced Labour Camp, Hebei Province

  Practitioner Ms. He Qing was sentenced to two years of forced labour in May 2002. She was once tortured around the clock for 100 days at Shijiazhuang Forced Labour Camp. The guards forced her to stand against a wall while they beat her palms and legs with a broom. They also threatened her, saying "As long as you are alive, the brainwashing will continue. If we beat you to death, it will be considered a suicide, and no one will care." After about 20 days, they kept her handcuffed to a bed frame day and night, stretching her arms as far apart as they would go. If she began to fall asleep, the weight of her entire body would pull on her shoulder muscles, causing excruciating pain.

• Details of Dafa Practitioners Being Tortured at the Mudanjiang Forced Labour Camp in Heilongjiang Province

  All levels of officials participated in torturing practitioners at the Mudanjiang Forced Labour Camp, from the director to guards. The guards manipulated the inmates who wanted to shorten their prison terms with special achievements, inciting them to abuse Dafa practitioners. With violence and blood, the Mudanjiang Forced Labour Camp achieved a 100% "transformation rate." The practitioners' bodies were bleeding, while their hearts were weeping.

  Due to long-term torture, practitioner Yu Ming has ulcers all around his mouth, which smell bad. This was the third time Yu Ming had been arrested and detained at the Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp. Later, the prison doctors added large amounts of sleeping pills to Yu Ming's food. This made him sleepy every day. He was tied onto a bed and could not move. He suffered tremendous physical and mental torture and was extremely weak.

  In February 2006, Beijing Chaoyang District Dafa practitioner Zhang Lianying was beaten by eight "personal cangues", prisonersdesignated to supervise the behaviour of practitioners. On February 27th, Zhang Lianying was sent to a hospital for 50 days. The wounds on her body had accumulated from several beatings and her entire face turned black. The soles of her feet had black spots caused by being pricked by a sharp object, she could not move her waist or turn over in bed, and her left leg became very swollen.

  Mr. Miao Shujun, a Falun Dafa practitioner has been unlawfully detained in the Suihua Forced Labour Camp. On September 26th, his family members went to visit him. They found that his face was terribly swollen and he could hardly move a single step. He told them, "I was beaten on September 22nd. As a result, I have been suffering unbearable headaches and chest pain. The name of the guard who led others to beat me is Shi Jian. The symptoms are getting more and more severe. The guards took me for an examination on September 25th, but told me that there was nothing wrong."

• Mr. Huang Min Tells of the Cruel Tortures He Suffered in Forced Labour Camps for Five Years and Seven Months

  In September 2001, I was transferred to Yushan Forced Labour Camp. They used violence in order to make me renounce Falun Gong. The prison guards had four inmates brutally beat me on an average of six rounds a day. When they realised that beating would not work, they resorted to different means of torture. They kept hitting my wrists and finger joints with a pair of forceps until all the soft issues and tendons were badly swollen. In addition, they hit me on my ankles and toes, the areas that are more sensitive to pain. They made a hammer out of copper wires and used it to hit my head until there were bumps all over my head. Finally they poked my fingertips with large sewing needles until my fingers bled profusely.

• Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Jiang Yuejun Suffered from Persecution at the Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp

  A member of Mr. Jiang Yuejun's family visited him in Yinmahe Forced Labour Camp. They learned that Mr. Jiang's throat was so severely damaged that he could barely speak. The sound of his voice had completely changed. Mr. Jiang said his throat was injured because of the beatings the guards gave him under orders. Division head Feng said, "We were quite nice to him in the first week he was here." Mr. Jiang has been imprisoned for more than two weeks. It's apparent that Mr. Jiang was subjected to severe abuse during the second week. Mr. Jiang told his family that his "environment" was very bad. He lost so much weight that he now weighs less than 100 pounds.

In an interview a reporter asked: "How did it feel when you were shocked by electric batons?" Li Bin replied: "When the guards us shocked me, I was sweating all over and my clothes were wet. I first felt pain, as if I was being pierced with needles. I heard the sizzling noise. It was truly horrendous. I could also smell the burning of my hair and skin. Sometimes the electricity went to my brain. That was even worse. It felt like I was having a seizure because the nerves were stimulated on top of the pain. You can only try to imagine what kind of feeling that is."

  When I was detained at the Heizuizi Women's Labour Camp, I watched with my own eyes the completely inhumane, brutal persecution of Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhu Xiyu. Because she refused to comply with the guards' orders, she was often beaten and yelled at. Some of the other detainees also beat her at the command of the guards. She went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and her detention, and was force-fed by camp doctors. Often she ended up with dark bruises on her face. Sometimes when she returned from the labour camp clinic, her face was covered in blood, and she had a tube inserted into her nose. Later I heard that Zhu suffered a mental breakdown.

They told the practitioners, "You can be involved in robbery, stealing and dealing drugs, but you cannot practise Falun Gong."

• Officials Refuse to Release Mr. Liu Guihan, Who is Now in Ill Health after Arrest, Detention and Sentencing to Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp

  65-year-old practitioner Mr. Liu Guihan was detained in the Tuanhe Forced Labour Camp on the same day that he was sentenced. On August 16th, 2006, the Shunyi Public Security Bureau sentenced Mr.. Liu Guihan to two years of forced labour. At that time, he had already been detained for more than three months, exceeding the time limit of detention by nearly two-and-a-half months. At this time, Mr. Liu suffered symptoms of severe high blood pressure, yet the forced labour camp refused to release this nearly 70-year-old man because he did not sign a Guarantee Statement to renounce his faith in Falun Gong.
