Ms. Li Chunhong Arrested, Family Harassed and Tortured

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Chunhong is imprisoned at the Tieling City Detention Centre. Over the past ten years of persecution by the Chinese Communist Party, her family has been repeatedly harassed. Her father and sister were repeatedly tortured under the persecution, which resulted in her sister suffering from a mental disorder. In 2006, police arrested Ms. Li. The officers subjected her to more than an hour of electric shock. As a result, Ms. Li's face and mouth were burned and distorted. They then locked her into a metal cage. After being detained at the Kaiyuan City Detention Centre for 40 days, Ms. Li was imprisoned at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang City. -
Mudanjiang City Police Harass and Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners in the Name of the "Two Conferences"
2010-03-21Agents from the Mudanjiang City Political and Judiciary Committee and the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) have been harassing and arresting Falun Gong practitioners in the name of the two high-level conferences for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). They directed the police department's domestic security division, along with police stations, to make the arrests. Five practitioners were confirmed to have been arrested recently as a direct result. -
Suihui City Forced Labour Camp Tortures Mr. Jiang Bingzhi to Death

In October 2008, Mr. Jiang Bingzhi was imprisoned at Suihua City Forced Labour Camp. On August 22nd, division head Pan Juying and others beat him and shocked him with electric batons. Mr. Jiang was unconscious when they carried him back to his cell. It wasn't until Mr. Jiang had been tortured into a comatose state and sent to Beian Hospital that officials from the forced labour camp notified his family that he was on the verge of death. He passed away only four days later, on August 26th, 2009. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Liu Ying and Others Being Persecuted in Shanxi Women's Forced Labour Camp
2010-03-20Shanxi Women's Forced Labour Camp detains many Falun Gong practitioners. The guards torture them and force them to do labour. The ventilation in the workshops is poor. The glue they use is poisonous. The team leader wears an anti-poison respirator while Falun Gong practitioners wear ordinary white masks. Falun Gong practitioners are deprived of sleep over a long period of time. They only sleep for five and a half hours a day. They are forced to sit on small stools and are not allowed to talk to each other. They are restricted on the times to go to the toilet. They are forced to listen to recordings that slander Falun Gong; the recordings are played very loudly. Falun Gong practitioners are tortured physically and mentally. -
Severe Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners at Guangyuan Prison, Sichuan Province
2010-03-20Horrendous violence against Falun Gong practitioners broke out in Prison Ward Three on March 18th, 2009. Guards and criminal inmates viciously assaulted several practitioners. Instead of punishing the offenders, the prison authorities blamed Falun Gong practitioners. This notorious violence is known as the March 18th Incident. Inmates attempted to force Mr. Ran to write the three statements renouncing Falun Gong. Mr. Ran refused, and he told these people about Falun Gong' s principles. The inmates slapped his face and punched and kicked him ferociously until he was severely injured. Mr. Ran suffered multiple injuries from the assault. They stretched Mr. Ran in an excruciating torture called "five horses splitting the body." The torture almost killed him. -
Two Female Falun Gong Practitioners in their 60s Arrested in Shenyang City
2010-03-20On the night of March 3rd, 2010, police arrested Ms. Peng Yujuan and Ms. Jin Yunzhi, in their 60s, as they distributed leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong and sent them to Shenyang City Detention Centre. It has been learned that Cai Tianzuo, head of the Domestic Security Division, is fabricating so-called "evidence," in an attempt to send the two ladies to the notorious Masanjia Labour Camp. -
Mr. Xu Linshan and Mr. Liang Jinyu Tortured to Death in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province

In 2002, Mr. Liang Jinyu was arrested by police for sharing Falun Gong articles with other practitioners. Police beat Mr. Liang so brutally that his face was disfigured, his skull was fractured, and his body was covered in blood. Mr. Liang was sentenced to ten years in Tailai Prison. In 2005, Mr. Liang had a stroke and was in critical condition. Prison officials forced his family to pay 6,000 yuan before they released him. Unable to recover from his injuries, Mr. Liang Jinyu passed away at 9:30 a.m. on February 5th, 2010. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Liu Lihua Dies as Result of Persecution
2010-03-19March 14th, 2009, was 61-year-old Ms. Liu Lihua's last arrest as she was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong. The police detained her for six months in the Yantai City Developing Zone Second Detention Centre. Her husband tried to visit her many times, but was not allowed to see her. Ms. Liu was sentenced to five years in prison in a secret trial, and taken to the Jinan City Women's Prison. However, the prison refused to accept her due to her poor physical condition and she was therefore released on September 30th, 2009. Ms. Liu suffered severe mistreatment in confinement, and her health was damaged. She passed out in the toilet on the evening of January 27th, 2010, and died on the evening of January 28th in the hospital. -
Four Elderly Falun Gong Practitioners from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province Passed Away
2010-03-19Mr. Zhu Yaoming, 78 years old, started practising Falun Gong in 1996 and benefited physically and mentally. After the persecution of Falun Gong started on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Zhu went to Beijing to appeal to stop the persecution. He was detained. His family was made to pay 3,000 yuan, which was deducted from his son's salary. The local officials also threatened his son that he might lose his job because his father practised Falun Gong. His family was under huge pressure and no longer supported him in practising Falun Gong. The local officials also often came to his home to harass him. Due to long term stress and pressure, Mr. Zhu could not continue with the practice and passed away in the autumn of 2008. -
The Suffering of Ms. Dai Jinheng at Detention Centres and Forced Labour Camps
2010-03-19Ms. Dai Jinheng has been steadfast in her belief and subjected to persecution many times. In July 2002, she went to Beijing to appeal, where she was arrested and detained at the Xicheng Detention Centre. The guards and inmates often beat and cursed her. She was forced to wear handcuffs and shackles and was unable to stand upright. The guards subjected her to force-feeding. Several male guards tied her to a bed and held down her hands and feet. The tube for force-feeding was inserted into her stomach through her nose. They beat and scolded her during the process and even took the tube in and out to increase her suffering. Later she was sent to the Gaoyang Forced Labour Camp in Hebei Province. -
Mr. Wang Enhui Dies in Gongzhuling City Prison in Jilin Province
2010-03-18Within less than six months after entering the Gongzhuling City Prison, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Enhui died on February 15th, 2010, the day after the Chinese New Year. His wife and daughter, both mentally disabled, are left behind with a hard life ahead of them. Mr. Wang was arrested multiple times, detained, and sent to forced labour camps, just because he wanted to become a better person through Falun Gong cultivation. In 2001, he was imprisoned in the Jiutai Forced Labour Camp for more than one year and severely tortured. He was once locked in the strictly controlled ward for 50 days and became emaciated. When he had died Mr. Wang's family rushed to the prison and saw that his body had changed colour dramatically, and his wrists had deep marks from handcuffs or ropes. -
The Recent Situation of Ms. Chen Shulan and Her Daughter Li Ying
2010-03-18Police arrested Ms. Chen Shulan, from the Changping District of Beijing, on September 16th, 2002. Ms. Chen was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison, and has been held at the Tiantanghe Women's Prison in Beijing. She is scheduled to be released in a few days, on March 16th, 2010. In the summer of 2007, when Ms. Chen's father Mr. Chen Yunchuan went to visit his daughter at the prison, the prison officials denied the visitation using the excuse that he didn't present his ID card and proof from his village committee. The prison also didn't allow him to leave some clothing and money he had bought for his daughter. Mr. Chen returned home and died in a car accident in late 2007. -
Tianjin Detention Centre Force-feeds Practitioners Unknown Drugs
2010-03-18I am a Falun Gong practitioner from Tianjin. Police broke into my home on December 3rd, 2001. They arrested and took me to the Beichen District Detention Centre. I joined other practitioners held there in a persecution protest hunger strike on December 5th. The guards dragged me from the second floor to the ground floor and began force-feeding me. There was a large-size plastic bowl which contained unknown liquid drugs. The guards tied my arms and legs to a metal chair that had its base affixed to the ground. They grabbed my hair and pulled it so that my face was upward. Then, two women wearing white coats inserted a tube into my nose and began pouring whatever was in the bowl into my stomach through the tube. It felt awful. One of them said, "Don't even think about getting it out. The tube has reached the bottom of your stomach!" -
The Persecution of Ms. Han Lianfeng, Zhao Suhong and Zhao Suyan from Shouguang City, Shandong Province
2010-03-18On May 23rd, 2008, police arrested Mr. Zhang, Mr. Zhang's wife and Ms. Han Following a week-long torture session at the Shengcheng Police Station, Ms. Han was transferred to Shouguang City Detention Centre. Two days after her arrival, Domestic Security Team agents went to the detention centre to interrogate her. She was restrained on a metal chair and forced to confess. Groups of officers took turns interrogating her around the clock for five days, and she was deprived of sleep. Agent Sun Chenliang used a metal pipe to hit her shoulders and back. He also punched her in the face. Another agent, Li Ruyuan, hit Ms. Han's back with his fists. Her face became bruised, her hair messed up, and her arms and back were bruised. -
Mother and Daughter, Both Hong Kong Residents, Detained for Nine Months
2010-03-17On June 4th, 2009, Hong Kong residents Ms. Li Yaohua and her daughter, Zhang Yibo, were arrested in the Xuhui District of Shanghai by personnel from the Tianlin Police Station and the local 610 Office [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong]. They have been detained ever since, for a total of nearly nine months. Their case files have been sitting in the Xuhui District Court for over four months. They are still being detained in the Xuhui District Detention Centre along with other practitioners Zhang Qin, Lu Yuzhi, and Ye Ying and her daughter.
