Guards at Liaoning Women's Prison Instigate Prisoners to Torture Practitioners
2011-11-30
In the 9th Prison Zone of Liaoning Women's Prison, guards instigated criminal inmate Meng Xianqiu and others to persecute Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Yuerong. Meng Xianqiu was sentenced to 12 years in prison for bribery and corruption. The guards promised to reduce her prison term so as to entice her to brutally persecute practitioners. On the second day of Ms. Chen Yuerong's incarceration, Meng Xianqiu, along with other inmates, immediately began torturing her by continuously slapping her in the face. Then, they punched her in the chest area. As a result, Ms. Chen couldn't breathe for quite a while. -
Director of a Design Office Wanted by Police--Director's Son Arrested
2011-11-30Mr. Zhang Hengyu was a director of the design office of Shenlong Carpet Group Co. Ltd. in Wucheng County, Shandong Province, and has made great contributions to the company. He and his wife, Ms. Tan Fengling, both cultivate Falun Gong. The kind-hearted couple, however, have been framed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and are wanted for robbery. They have been forced into exile. Unable to find out the whereabouts of Mr. Zhang Hengyu, the Wucheng County Police Department was so enraged that they arrested his son, Zhang Shijie, on October 20th. -
Ms. Ren Suying from Chifeng City Tried and Interrogated Under Torture
2011-11-29Falun Gong practitioner Ren Suying was taken away by three police officers on April 19th, 2011. Two officers suddenly came up and held her down on the ground. One officer took off Ms. Ren’s shoes and repeatedly hit her face with her own shoe. They then took her to the police station for further interrogation. Ms. Ren was pressured to admit that she, along with fellow practitioners, went to Wudan Township to disseminate printed Falun Gong material. She was also pressured to reveal the names of the other practitioners. Because Ms. Ren refused to cooperate police beat her, shocked her with electric batons, inserted bamboo under her fingernails, punched her in the head and neck, kicked her, and struck her her with water bottles. The Wengniuteqi Court tried Ms. Ren on November 1st. -
Mr. Cao Jun and Ms. Yang Jingli from Inner Mongolia Detained at Ximeng District Brainwashing Centre
2011-11-29Practitioner Cao Jun was arrested by the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) on the morning of October 26th and taken to Baochang Town Brainwashing Centre in Taibus. Another practitioner, Yang Jingli, was arrested and taken to the same brainwashing centre on October 10th. 610 Offices all over China have organized brainwashing sessions in the name of carrying out “legal education” to detain and persecute practitioners. In 2008, Cao Jun was arrested and he was unjustly sentenced to two years of forced labour, and imprisoned in the Wuyuan Forced Labour Camp in Inner Mongolia. -
Ms. Li Jie Tortured at Dandong Detention Centre and Masanjia Forced Labour Camp
2011-11-29Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Jie was arrested in August 2009. After she was tortured at Baifang Detention Centre in Dandong, she was sent to Masanjia Women's Forced Labour Camp. Ms. Li Jie was arrested by police officers while she was distributing Falun Gong materials at Huangqi Village, Hongqi Township in August 2009. Ms. Li was forced to work twelve-hour shifts in the detention centre. Sometimes, she had to work overtime and then be on duty to stand for two hours at night. Female guard Wang Jing often slanders Falun Gong. When practitioner Ms. Wang Xiangju told her the truth about Falun Gong, Wang Jing slapped her face several times. -
Ms. Li Weiling Has Been Held for Three Months--Mother's Visits Rejected Twice
2011-11-29Ms. Li Weiling has been held at the Changning Detention Centre for three months. Her mother recently asked for her release but was rejected twice. On October 12th, Ms. Li' mother went to the detention centre to request a release. That day happened to be visiting day for inmates' families to visit and bring cash or other personal items. When she saw someone waiting in line, she also waited there. When it was her turn, the guards recognized her from when she was held at the Changning Detention Centre for nine months beginning March 30th, 2004, and told her, “You directly came in without receiving any notice. It is not allowed next time.” -
Mr. Jiang Bingsheng from Suzhou City Died Shortly After He Was Released from Five Years of Physical Abuse and Torture in Prison---Belated Information
2011-11-28Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Jiang Bingsheng was subjected to persecution several times. Mr. Jiang held a hunger strike twice to protest the persecution. The guards force-fed him several times, injuring his lungs. He died as a result of the extensive physical and mental abuse he was subjected to. He was sentenced to five years in prison in 2003, after he was released from the Suzhou Prison in early 2008, he was harassed and monitored many times by Wuzhong District 610 Office agents, and died shortly after. -
Company Manager Paralysed Due to Torture at the Fushun Brainwashing Centre
2011-11-28When Dalian City practitioner Mr. Yu Changshun's daughter went to visit him at the Fushun Brainwashing Centre on October 31st, she found him paralysed in bed and both his legs were swollen to different degrees. Mr. Yu's black hair had turned grey and he had lost more than 30 jin (15 kilograms) in weight. Despite his fragile physical condition, brainwashing centre officials refused to release him. -
Elderly Practitioner Ms. Chen Xiuying from Mianyang Taken to Brainwashing Centre
2011-11-28On November 1st, 2011, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen was celebrating her birthday at home with her children. Soon after they left at 9 p.m., someone knocked on the door. Several police officers rushed into her home and tried to take her away. Ms. Chen leaned towards a window and shouted, “There are bad people in my home! They are trying to take me away!” Later, her son asked the police why they had come to an elderly person's home so late at night. An officer said anxiously, “She practises Falun Gong.” Ms. Chen's son replied, “What's the matter with practising Falun Gong? She was not very healthy and so practises Falun Gong to get fit. Which law does she violate?” The police quickly left, but the next day returned, arrested Ms. Chen and took her to Wujia Brainwashing Centre. -
Falun Gong Practitioners from Huarong County Arrested
2011-11-28On September 21st, Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Xie Chaoyan and his wife, Ms. Yan Congxi were arrested by officers from the local police station. They are currently detained at the Huarong County Detention Centre and Detention Station, respectively. Since the couple began practising Falun Gong, they have learned to act according to the principle of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance. They treat their neighbours well and have good reputations. Mr. Xie and Ms. Yan are considered to be good people by their fellow villagers. Now, as their daughters are about to be married, Mr. Xie and Ms. Yan are being detained because of their belief. -
After Enduring Years of Persecution, Older Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Jiang Deying Passed Away in 2010
2011-11-27Falun Gong practitioner Jiang Deying had been persecuted for a long time. She died on the morning of August 18th, 2010 at the age of 59 as a result of torture and beatings. Ms. Jiang was arrested and detained because she believed in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She left her home in 2008 so she wouldn't be constantly monitored and harassed by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents and police, but she was abducted again in April 2009 and imprisoned at the Zhuzhou Baimalong Forced Labour Camp. While there, injuries from the torture and maltreatment caused oedema in the lower half of her body, especially in her abdomen. -
The Chinese Communist Party’s Persecution of Practitioners Who Work in Engineering
2011-11-27Since 2000, because he has refused to give up practising Falun Gong, Mr. Huang Liqiao has been detained in a forced labour camp three times for a total of seven years. In the labour camp, he was tortured with electric batons; beaten with a wooden club, had his limbs forcefully stretched on what is called a tiger bench, and was hung up by handcuffs. In addition, he was deprived of sleep for long periods of time and forced to sleep naked on a wooden bed without a blanket in the winter. The guards poured cold water on him with the windows wide open, and in the summer he was covered with a heavy insulated quilt. -
Systematised and Institutionalised Persecution in Gansu Prison
2011-11-27As soon as practitioners enter Jiuquan Prison, prison authorities arrange for four to eight personal monitors to watch each practitioner in an isolated cell. They initiate conversations with the practitioner to obtain basic personal information, including the cultivation situation, personality, education, social background, psychological weaknesses, and the attitude of other family members towards Falun Gong. This process sometimes lasts one to two months. They finalise the monitoring group members and guards and establish a dedicated file on the practitioner including: the verdict, basic personal situation, social relations, health, the information collected by the assigned monitors, the “transformation” plan, and the “reform” agreement signed by the threatened and deceived families of practitioners. -
Ms. Liang Xiuying from Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Arrested for Writing Letters to Advise Officials to Do Good
2011-11-27Police suddenly arrested 67-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liang Xiuying on November 9th. The police used the excuse that Ms. Liang had written letters to related government agencies and officials asking them not to persecute Falun Gong practitioners who believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and to stop the persecution and do good deeds. The community was surprised that Ms. Liang was arrested for kindly advising regime authorities to stop committing crimes. She was taken to a detention centre and her home was ransacked. The police charged Ms. Liang with “disrupting public order.” -
Suizhong Economist Sent to Forced Labour Camp for the Third Time
2011-11-26Ms. Li Xiaoyan was arrested by officials on October 23rd, and was recently sent to the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp for the third time for practising Falun Gong. Earlier, in 1999, Ms. Li spent three years in Masanjia Forced Labour Camp because she had written appeal letters to explain the facts about Falun Gong. In the summer of 2002, she was released on bail for medical treatment because she was in very weak condition as a result of persecution. While she was in the camp, the Suizhong Agriculture Bureau fired her. Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel often harassed her after she was released, and her husband divorced her because he could not endure the enormous pressure from the authorities.
