200 Practitioners Still Being Held in Shandong Province Second Women's Forced Labour Camp
2011-12-04
The Shandong Province Second Women's Forced Labour Camp is located in Wangcun Town in the Zichuan District, Zibo City. More than 1,000 Falun Gong practitioners have been incarcerated there over the past 12 years. As of October 2011, there are 400 inmates, half of them Falun Gong practitioners. Guards instruct former practitioners to slander Falun Gong in front of practitioners as a way to “transform” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] them. They force practitioners to watch videos and read books that slander Falun Gong. They badmouth practitioners' righteous behaviour absolutely, and word by word, sentence by sentence slander Falun Gong's teaching. -
Excellent Employee at Thomson Reuters Limited Detained for Practising Falun Gong
2011-12-03Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Feng Qingdong was arrested at his residence on October 23rd, by police. He has been held for over a month. His supervisors want him to go back to work and his mother wants him to return home. Mr. Feng started practising Falun Gong because he suffered from prolonged headaches. Shortly after he started the practice, his headaches disappeared. He is nice to others and works hard. He is very well liked in his company. Nonetheless, because he practises Falun Gong he was arrested and taken to the Changping Detention Centre. -
Former Xinjiang University Instructor Held in Prison for Seven Years
2011-12-03Ms. Wei Shuyan and Ms. Li Xianghong are being detained and brutally persecuted in the Xinjiang Women's Prison. Ms. Li Xianghong, about 50, has been detained in the Xinjiang Women's Prison for about seven years because she refuses to give up her belief in Falun Gong. Ms. Wei Shuyan is about 40 years old. She has been detained in the Xinjiang Women's Prison for about six years. In April 2010, her term was extended for three years because she has refused to give up her belief. -
Mr. Song Guobin Arrested While Visiting a Friend
2011-12-03On the evening of October 7th, Mr. Song Guobin went to visit his friend, who was also a practitioner. When Mr. Song arrived at his friend's home, police officers were there, ransacking the place. The officers arrested Mr. Song, as well as his friend. Around 11:00 p.m. that night, the officers took Mr. Song's house key and went to his home. They ransacked his home as well and confiscated a computer, cash, and other personal belongings. On October 18th or 19th, Mr. Song's family was notified that they needed to send a change of clothes to Mr. Song, who was being held at the Baoding Detention Centre. -
Jianshui County Police Attempted to Send a Retired Physician to Prison
2011-12-03Ms. Li Yaping, in her 60s, is a retired physician from the Jianshui County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The Jianshui County police recently attempted to send her to prison. Ms. Li's family kept them from taking her away. However, the officers haven't given up and are still trying to arrest her. In November 2009, Ms. Li was arrested by police while she was speaking with people about Falun Gong. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, printer, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings. On May 17th, 2010, Ms. Li was sentenced to four years in prison and taken to the Yunnan Province No. 2 Women's Prison. -
Harbin and Shuangcheng Police Arrest Dozens of Falun Gong Practitioners
2011-12-02On November 13th, the Shuangcheng Domestic Security Division of Heilongjiang Province colluded with Harbin Police Department to arrest a large group of Falun Gong practitioners. It was reported that the arrested practitioners were detained in the Shuangcheng Detention Centre and Harbin Second Detention Centre. Seven male practitioners and 13 female practitioners are currently being detained in the Shuangcheng Detention Centre. The homes of three practitioners were ransacked. Mr. Luo's home was ransacked first and his teenage son was also taken away. It is winter in northeast China. Mr. Luo's son was wearing only underclothes when he was taken away. -
Mr. Wang Baohong's Personal Account of Torture at Handan Forced Labour Camp in Hebei Province
2011-12-02Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Baohong was sentenced to forced labour in 2007 and was subjected to brutal torture and brainwashing at the Handan Forced Labour Camp. Here is Mr. Wang's personal account of the torture he experienced, "The guards gave criminal inmates the authority to watch over practitioners. and they could beat, verbally abuse, or punish the practitioners at random. The method they used in attempting to force practitioners to renounce Falun Gong was to talk to practitioners in turn and pretend to show concern for them in order to collect information about them. They even “studied” Falun Gong literature with the practitioners. If a practitioner didn't agree with their distorted “understanding” of the Falun Gong teachings, they began to punish and torture them." -
Sixteen-Year-Old Middle School Female Student Imprisoned Again
2011-12-02In 2000, Zhang Xiaoling rode her bicycle to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. She was arrested. Zhang Xiaoling was detained at the Meihua Drug Rehabilitation Centre for 25 days. She was brutally beaten police. Both of her legs turned black and blue and were badly swollen. Eleven years later, Zhang Xiaoling was sentenced to two years of forced labour for practising Falun Gong at the Chatou Forced Labour Camp in Guangzhou City, which is notorious for persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. -
Attempt to Arrest Ms. Zhao Mei Fails
2011-12-02Because of her belief in Falun Gong, Ms. Zhao was arrested by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) police four times. On May 22nd, 2009, the court sentenced Ms. Zhao to one year in a forced labour camp. The police tried to send her to the labour camp many times, but the camp refused to accept her because of her physical condition. She has three steel bars in her legs and has difficulty in walking. Finally, her family brought her home. On May 18th, 2011, police arrested Ms. Zhao. She was detained in the Songzi Detention Centre for more than one month. On November 8th, police tried but failed to take away Ms. Zhao. -
Ms. Chen Fengmin from Jiamusi Seized from Home, Whereabouts Unknown
2011-12-01Around 7:00 a.m. on October 18th, four unidentified people knocked on Ms. Chen Fengmin's door and said that they had come to collect for the water bill. When she opened the door, they seized her and forced her into a van. Then they quickly drove away with Ms. Chen crying out for help. Her current whereabouts remains unknown. Ms. Chen's son and mother-in-law went to see the staff of the residential committee. A staff member said, “I cannot tell you where she is because it will affect her 'transformation [forcibly renounce Falun Gong]'” -
Fujian Public Security Departments Hinder Attorney Trying to Represent Mr. Zuo Fusheng
2011-12-01The Fujian 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), Politics and Law Committee, the police department and Procuratorate in the Cangshan District put Mr. Zuo Fusheng on trial in February 2011. The Cangshan Court has recently made things difficult for Mr. Zuo's attorney and prevented him from reading the case documents or visiting his client. Mr. Zuo was taken away by police on January 19th, 2011. The police secretly issued an arrest warrant on February 25th and did not inform Mr. Zuo's family. After their attorney found out, he filed a complaint with the Cangshan Procuratorate and requested that he supervise and correct the violation committed by the police. However, the Cangshan Procuratorate has yet to deal with it. -
Ms. Liu Fenglan from Anyang City, Henan Province Arrested Again
2011-12-01Police followed Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Fenglan on the afternoon of November 1st, when she was out, and subsequently arrested her. Around 6:00 p.m. that same day, more than a dozen perpetrators pried open the door to Ms. Liu's home, and ransacked the entire house. Ms. Liu's elderly husband was helpless and has reached the limit of his psychological endurance. According to an insider, some people are currently staked outside of Ms. Liu's residence. -
Previous Victim of Imprisonment, Elderly Disabled Woman in Chongqing Harassed Again
2011-12-01The local street committee attempted to force Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Su Ping from Chongqing to write a guarantee statement, promising not to practise Falun Gong on September 28th. Ms. Su refused to cooperate. Prior to this event, she had been imprisoned in a forced labour camp for one year and six months, from 2005 to 2007. -
Ms. Pei Yongmei Dies as a Result of Persecution in Jilin City
2011-11-30Ms. Pei Yongmei began practising Falun Gong in 1999, and her illnesses such as diabetes soon abated. Ms. Pei has constantly been targeted since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began its irrational persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. In May 2010 plainclothes police arrested Ms. Pei while she was distributing flyers explaining the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong. Due to intense persecution Ms. Pei passed away on September 13th, 2011. -
Practitioner Mr. Wu Zhanwei from Qingdao City, Shandong Province Secretly Sentenced to Four-Year Prison Term
2011-11-30Practitioner Mr. Wu Zhanwei is from Qingdao City, Shandong Province. On October 10th, his family learned that he had been sentenced to a four-year prison term. According to Mr. Wu’s wife, he has been persecuted to the point where he has become extremely weak and muddleheaded. His family almost didn't recognise him. A few months prior to his arrest, Mr. Wu was very strong and clearheaded.
