  • Germany: People Sign the Petition to Support the Human Rights Torch Relay during the Wagner Opera Festival

    Several people asked the same question: “Don’t you think that holding the Olympics could change the human rights situation in China?” But as soon as they heard that the organ harvesting on living Falun Gong practitioners is still happening, although it was revealed one year ago, people changed their minds and signed the petition immediately.
  • Austria: National TV Station Introduces Falun Dafa to Viewers

    Austrian practitioners demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises and were interviewed on a nationwide news programme broadcast on August 17th. TV station ORF (NOE) carried the broadcast, which was a great introduction to Falun Dafa.
  • Germany: The Spirit of "Never Again" at the Human Rights Torch Relay in Munich

    At 11am on August 25th, the Human Rights Torch Relay arrived at the main stadium of the Olympic Centre in Munich for its opening ceremony. The event focused on China's human rights atrocities and demands to stop the persecution of Falun Gong and other groups. The relay started in Athens and passed through Berlin before coming to Munich. Mr. Nehring from west Germany had an opportunity to lead the Torch Relay, running with the torch in hand. He said, "The International Olympic Committee is obligated to select a host country safeguarding human rights and should treat China in the same way. If Chinese people are tortured and killed, and their organs are being harvested against their will, the Games should not be held in Beijing.
  • Sweden: Demonstrating Falun Gong Exercises during the Gothenburg Cultural Festival

    On August 14th 2007, the annual six-day Cultural Festival kicked off in Gothenburg. The demonstration of the five sets of Falun Gong exercises and free exercise teaching were held in the Botanical Garden, where most of the celebration activities were held. They attracted the attention of many adults and children alike.
  • Secretary General of Interfaith International Centre: CCP Has Failed in Its Attempt to Defame Falun Gong

    In the Athens press conference launching the "Human Rights Torch Relay", Dr. Charles Graves, Secretary General of Interfaith International Centre, delivered a speech in which he proclaimed that people in Western society have come to understand Falun Gong through observations and the Chinese regime's attempt to defame Falun Gong have failed.
  • Member of UK House of Lords: Boycott the Olympic Games to Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong

    "We are deeply concerned by reports that the Chinese authorities have so far murdered at least 3,000 practitioners since the persecution began and that they have been implicated in the widespread practice of organ-harvesting from live prisoners, which has been condemned by governments and human rights organizations alike. However, we believe it is time for the world to take a much stronger position toward the Chinese government. We are now calling for a boycott of the 2008 Beijing Olympics by all right-minded nations, unless China changes its stance on Falun Gong and stops the torture and genocide immediately."
  • Turkey: People and Officials Happy to Learn About Falun Gong At Famous Tourist Site

    On August 7th 2007, two Falun Gong practitioners took advantage of a brief holiday to promote Falun Gong and explain the facts about the persecution to officials and the general public in Canakkale City, a famous tourist attraction in Turkey. On the first day, practitioners visited the provincial government to tell officials in various departments about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Upon learning the facts about the inhumane persecution launched by the Chinese Communist regime, the officials were shocked and infuriated.
  • Sweden:Commemorating Eight Years of Persecution at the Chinese Consulate General in Gothenburg

    Falun Gong practitioners in Gothenburg are usually outside the Consulate regularly to request an immediate end to the brutal persecution that practitioners in China are facing. On July 20th, there was a larger gathering because it was eight years to the day since the brutal persecution was initiated by the Chinese Communist Party.
  • Italy: A New Practitioner Found Us at the Medieval Cultural Festival in a Small Town

    The peaceful music made many people unwilling to leave. A young lady who was a volunteer of the Red Cross excitedly cried out when seeing the Falun Dafa display, "It's great! I'm looking for you. I have known Falun Gong for years. Now I'm more and more interested in Falun Gong. I want to practise the exercises and know the principles of Falun Gong. Would you please tell me how to be a Falun Gong practitioner?" Practitioners told her about the exercises and how to download Zhuan Falun (the main text of Falun Gong practice). She left but turned back to have a long talk with one practitioner. "I don't want to leave at all."
  • Finland: People Understand the Truth and Denounce the Chinese Communist Party

    This day, the park was crowded with foreign tourists and local people. The Falun Gong practitioners distributed leaflets and put up banners and posters to demonstrate to people the horrifying persecution that practitioners in China have suffered for the past eight years for their belief in “Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance”. Many people signed the petition.
  • Human Rights Torch Relay Largely Covered in the French Media

    On August 22nd 2007 the newspaper Libération, one of the three main national newspapers in France, distributed in other French speaking countries in the world, published a three quarter page article on the occasion of the Human Rights Torch Relay that was launched in Athens on August 8th and reached Germany on August 18th. The article reveals the attempt by the Chinese regime to extinguish the Human Rights Flame in Athens and made it clear that the Greek police did not yield to the Chinese authorities’ pressure.
  • Germany: Human Rights Torch Reaches Berlin as People Condemn Persecution Against Falun Gong

    The Human Rights Torch Relay, started by the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (CIPFG), reached Berlin on August 18th 2007. A ceremony was held at Olympic Square, and many human rights activists attended. Attendees condemned the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and called for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong.
  • Russia: People Show their Kind Sides on the Streets of St. Petersburg

    From July 28th to August 4th 2007, Falun Gong practitioners in St. Petersburg held activities in the busy streets near Prospekt Bol’shevikov and Chernaya Rechka metro stations to introduce the beauty of Falun Gong and to expose the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution and its atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners.
  • Germany: Commemorating Eight Years of Persecution Against Falun Gong

    North German practitioners organised an information day in downtown Hamburg to commemorate eight years of persecution against Falun Gong. Practitioners set up a booth under a brilliant blue sky and sunshine. At the same time, the first interested people stopped by to see the photos exposing the torture used against practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party.
  • Sweden: “I am very happy today. I feel wonderful! It’s a gift from God.”

    As soon as the exhibits were set up, many people came to ask, “What is Falun Gong?” “Why is Falun Gong persecuted?” Having learned the truth, many commented that it was grossly unjust to suffer such torture simply for not giving up on one’s beliefs. People eagerly signed the petition calling for an end to the persecution.
