  • Germany: The International Human Rights Association Hosts a Long Distance Race in Support of Human Rights

    On the 28th of August 2004, the International Human Rights Association hosted its first long-distance race in support of human rights, in the southern German city of Karlsruhe. About one hundred and thirty people participated in the race. With the theme “For the Purity of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games”, the race was intended to raise further public awareness of the serious on-going human rights violation in China.
  • United Kingdom: Practitioners Invited to Demonstrate Falun Gong Exercises at Birmingham Art Festival

    On the 11th and 12th of September, England’s biggest free arts festival was held in the city of Birmingham. Over three hundred arts groups from England came to the performance. Falun Gong practitioners have been invited three years running to take part in the festival and this year they were the first to perform.

  • Finland: Falun Gong takes Part in “Compassion Day” in the City of Turku

    On Sunday the 29th of August, 'Compassion Day' was held in the city of Turku. Falun Dafa practitioners enriched the event by telling people about the benefits and principles of Falun Dafa, which emphasizes goodness and compassion in its teachings. Practitioners also raised awareness of the cruelty of the persecution in Mainland China.
  • Sweden: A Poster about Falun Gong has been Placed on Trams and Passenger Boats in Gothenburg

    In Gothenburg during the past two weeks, passengers travelling by trams in the city and by boats going to the archipelago have been able to see a poster concerning the persecution of Falun Gong that is taking place in China. The Falun Gong poster explains briefly about the practice and includes examples of torture methods.
  • Spain: Falun Dafa Practitioners' Just Actions Frighten the Evil Regime

    On the 6th of September 2004, the head of the Spanish House of Representatives met with Jia Qinglin. Prior to Jia’s arrival, Falun Gong practitioners had been waiting with banners held up in front of the building. Suddenly a welcome group appeared which was led by a Chinese official and stood in front of the Falun Gong group...
  • Russia: Introducing Falun Gong in the Far East (2) - Habarovsk City

    The Chinese at the market asked how much we got paid to distribute the materials. We replied, “We saved the money from our tight budget to print the materials. We were not paid to do anything. We spent our own money buying train tickets to travel from far away for the purpose of telling people the truth about Falun Gong and the facts of the persecution in China”.
  • Germany: People Support Falun Gong During the Wagner Opera Festival

    Though the city government insisted that no groups would be allowed to hold any activities during the Wagner Festival this year, the relevant government agencies’ position was altered after Dafa practitioners’ told them the facts about the Genocide that is happening in China.
  • Sweden: Introducing Falun Dafa in Lerum City

    Last week, Lerum community, which is a community very close to Gothenburg and the second largest city in Sweden, had a week dedicated to a healthier and happier Lerum. Falun Gong practitioners were invited by Lerum community in cooperation with the Adult Educational Association in Lerum to display the exercises and inform the public about Falun Gong to people attending a lecture.
  • Germany: Telling People in Trier City about Falun Gong and the Persecution

    An old man who stood in front of a group of people asked, “What’s the matter? Why are there white people practising Chinese Falun Gong?” A practitioner explained, "The universal principle of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance has no boundary of race or nationality. This is practised by people all over the world." The old man nodded his head several times.
  • Sweden: Anti-Torture Exhibition in Gothenburg Exposes the Ruthless Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in China

    On September 3rd 2004, Falun Gong practitioners in Sweden held an anti-torture exhibition on Gustav Adolf Square in front of the Gothenburg City Government Buildings, exposing the brutal persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and calling on the government of Gothenburg and its people to help end this persecution.
  • Turkey: Falun Gong Practitioners Hold Activities to Introduce Falun Gong and Let People Know About the Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioners gathered together to study the Falun Gong teachings, practise the exercises and send forth righteous thoughts. At the same time, they visited media outlets and government offices as well as distributed leaflets and provide free exercise instruction at public parks to introduce Falun Gong and expose the facts about the persecution to the public.
  • Germany: Falun Gong Practitioners Participate in a Long-Distance Race for Human Rights

    On August 28th, the day before the Olympic Flame was forwarded to Beijing from Athens, the International Human Rights Association, the headquarters of which is located in Frankfurt Germany, held a ten-kilometre race for human rights in the city of Karlsruhe. The title of the activity was “For an Immaculate Olympics in Beijing, 2008”
  • Sweden: A Series of Anti-Torture Exhibitions in Gothenburg Exposes the Brutal Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in China

    Swedish practitioners held the last in a series of three anti-torture exhibitions outside the administrative offices of the Gothenburg City government. Visitors attracted to the exhibitions were indignant when they saw the torture methods used to force Falun Gong practitioners to denounce their belief. Many signed a petition calling for the Swedish Government to condemn this persecution.
  • Austria: Criminal Charges Brought Against Jia Qinglin

    Under the guidelines of the UN Convention On Torture, an unusual lawsuit was filed on Monday with the State Prosecutor's Office in Vienna. In the suit, a lawyer for the "International Society for Human Rights“ and the "International Society for Threatened People“ argues that a Chinese Communist Party politician currently visiting Austria is one of the main parties responsible for the persecution and oppression of Falun Gong. Jia Qinglin, former Party Secretary from Beijing and current permanent member of the Politbureau, arrived last night at the airport in Salzburg.
