Austria: Lotus Car Tour Exposes the Persecution of Falun Gong

On September 17th, 2006, the 'lotus car tour' initiated by four Falun Gong practitioners began. The theme of the tour was to rescue Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted in China. On September 14th, 2006, German state run TV station ZDF, in its 5 p.m. newscast, reported on Falun Gong activities during Wen Jiabao’s visit to Hamburg. Scenes were broadcast on TV of the practitioners' anti-torture exhibition. -

“We are welcoming Wen Jiabao in Hamburg with one of our banners", said a Falun Gong practitioner over a microphone. “We encourage him to bring an end to the persecution of Falun Gong with these words. Wen Jiabao has as to date not participated in the persecution, but he also has done nothing to bring it to an end.” But, they are not welcoming the Minister of Trade Bo Xilai. 2006-09-23Ambassadors of various countries based in London wrote to the European Friends of Falun Gong to express their concern about organ harvesting from living people in China. The Ambassador of the Swiss Embassy wrote, “Thank you for your letter of 22nd of August 2006 concerning Falun Gong practitioners in China and the allegations of organ harvesting in that country. Switzerland has been conducting a human rights dialogue with China for several years now. 2006-09-23On August 26th, a Chinese lady Luyi Schwab held a Falun Gong information day in Herrenberg to raise public awareness of the persecution of Falun Gong in her homeland. Local newspaper Gäubote published an article on her event beforehand. The article said that the information day will touch upon the Chinese Communist regime's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Luyi Schwab stated that these practitioners' organs were removed by the Chinese Communist regime for sale. -
