  • After Being Given Unknown Drugs, Ms. Xu Lihua Becomes Blind and Ms. Guihua Suffers Mental Collapse

    Six years ago, on April 16th, 2005, two women–Xu Lihua and Shi Guihua– were arrested by police. These two women were persecuted for practising Falun Gong. A week after Ms. Xu was detained, she felt her vision blurring. A few days later, the guards gave her medication, claiming that it would cure her eyes. After taking medication for a week, her eyesight deteriorated. Officers put her on an IV drip. As a result, she was in extreme pain. She asked what medication they had given her, but they would not tell her. Half a month later, she completely lost her eyesight. Officers contacted her family members to send her to the hospital for treatment, but upon examination, the hospital told them it was too late to treat her. Ms. Shi suffered a mental breakdown
  • Crimes Committed at Duyun Prison in Guizhou Province

    Duyun Prison is one of the most notorious places where the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) persecutes Falun Gong practitioners. Guards were especially cruel towards Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Xu Shiwen, and he ended up suffering a mental breakdown from the brutal torture. His arms were broken from the beatings. They made him watch slanderous propaganda on TV. If he showed even the slightest motion they would assault him, pour boiling water on him, or burn him with lit cigarettes. They would not let him sleep for days while constantly bombarding him with insults and violent attacks
  • Persecution at the Yuanbaoshan District Detention Centre in Chifeng City

    Guards in Yuanbaoshan District Detention Centre have relentlessly tortured practitioners. The officers would tell practitioners, “You want to practise Falun Gong? Then you first need to pass the gates of hell, which is Yuanbaoshan Detention Centre." Once, Guard Du Xuewu beat a female practitioner who was nearly 60 years old. He slapped, kicked and hit the practitioner. When he was exhausted, he ordered the old lady to squat and mimic a duck walking. When she didn't do it to his liking, he kicked her again. He also loaded heavy bags of cornmeal on her back, and forced her to crawl on the ground. If a bag fell from her back, he would beat her. He abused this lady who was older than his mother.
  • Ms. Zuo Xiuwen and Three Other Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province

    On December 13th, practitioner Ms. Zuo Xiuwen and three other practitioners were arrested. The practitioners were later detained in the Huachuan County Detention Centre. On December 16th, some of the relatives of the arrested practitioners went to the Huachuan County Police Station to see them, but the police turned them away. On December 28th, the relatives were finally allowed to see Ms. Wang and her elderly mother in the Huachuan County Hospital. The practitioners had been violently force-fed. The relatives saw the blood-stained tubes that were inserted into their stomachs during the force-feeding.
  • Amnesty International Calls for Urgent Action to Rescue Falun Gong Practitioner Guo Xiaojun

    Amnesty International called for urgent action to rescue Falun Gong practitioner Guo Xiaojun on December 15th, 2010. Guo Xiaojun insisted on practising Falun Gong, and was sentenced to five years in prison by a Chinese Communist Party court in 2000. He was arrested again in January 2010. During the World Expo, on July 6th, 2010, he was sentenced to four years in prison by Shanghai Baoshan Court. He was detained at the Tilanqiao Prison. Guo Xiaojun endured numerous forms of persecution, leading to vision loss. His family members have strongly requested letting him go abroad for medical treatment.
  • Persecution of Ms. Zhang Guoqin from Yushu City, Jilin Province

    Ms. Zhang Guoqin was taken to the Yushu Detention Centre because she insisted on practising Falun Gong. She recounts: "They forced me onto a "tiger bench", handcuffed my arms behind my back and tied my legs together, so that they were suspended in the air. They then put 5kg weights on each of my feet and fastened an iron bar just above my stomach, so that I couldn't move. Zhang then put a dirty rag in my mouth to prevent me from shouting, as he stomped on my feet, beat me with a rubber whip and punched me in the head. I was tortured from the afternoon until late in the evening, when they became tired. The pain was beyond belief."
  • Officials Repeatedly Extort Money from a Disabled Army Veteran during His Daughter's Imprisonment

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Qi Lei, 30, is a teacher in Shandong Province. On February 23rd, 2010, she was arrested by police outside the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) school as she was talking with people about Falun Gong and how the Chinese Communist Party has slandered Falun Gong. After Ms. Qi was taken to the Linyi City Detention Centre the officials started to intimidate, deceive and extort money from her family. Ms. Qi's father is a disabled army veteran, confined to a wheelchair, and needs to be cared for. 610 Office officials (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and the Domestic Security Bureau extorted 16,000 yuan from her parents.
  • Lifting the Veil Covering the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Methods of Brainwashing Falun Gong Practitioners

    Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began openly persecuting Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, it has made “reforming” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] a top priority. As such, numerous brainwashing facilities have been set up to carry out forced brainwashing. The brainwashing centre is securely guarded. There is no break time, and those who refuse to "reform" [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] are essentially serving a life sentence. Many practitioners were kind hearted people to begin with and had never been detained before. When suddenly held in solitary confinement cells and completely cut off from the outside world, they feel unbearable mental pressure. As a result, some develop fear, experience depression, and feel hopeless, as if “reformation” is the only way out.
  • Lawyer Mr. Zhu Yubiao Subjected to Detention for Five Months

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhu Yubiao, a lawyer from Guangzhou City, was arrested again on August 18th, 2010 by officials of the Communist regime. The local procuratorate subsequently admitted that the detention was illegal. So far, Mr. Zhu has been detained in the Haizhu District Detention Centre of Guangzhou for five months. In late November 2010 his family members hired a lawyer to defend him. However, the Counsel Management Office of the Bureau of Justice in Guangzhou City interfered with the work of Mr. Zhu’s counsel, causing his family to have to dismiss him.
  • Seven Falun Gong Practitioners from Qinglong County, Hebei Province Sent to Forced Labour Camp

    In mid-December 2010, officers from the Qinglong Police Department, the Qinglong 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) and the Qinglong Domestic Security Team arrested ten Falun Gong practitioners. They were detained in the Qinglong Detention Centre. Reports indicate that seven of the practitioners were sent to a forced labour camp and three were released. To date, their families have not received any information about the sentences.
  • Yunnan Province Falun Gong Practitioners Ms. Chen Keyu and Mr. Yan Guisheng Detained

    Recently, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Keyu, 38, was sentenced to three years imprisonment. She is currently in the Yunnan No. 2 Woman Prison’s training ward, which is the “strictly controlled” ward. Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yan Guisheng, 38, was sentenced to three years. He was sent to the Yunnan Province No. 1 Prison. They were both arrested for talking to people in public about Falun Gong and exposing the persecution. Previously, Mr. Yan was imprisoned for three years for practising Falun Gong.
  • Ms. Sun Li from Liaoning Province Imprisoned, Her Whereabouts Unknown

    After police arrested Ms. Sun Li and her husband Mr. Bi Shijun, Ms. Sun was sentenced to a five-year prison term. After she was taken to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison, she went missing. Her husband was sentenced to seven years in Dalian Prison. There were five other practitioners who received sentences at the same time. The family still does not know Ms. Sun's current whereabouts.
  • Fujin Villagers Stand Up For Family of Falun Gong Practitioners

    Mr. Yuan Yulong, a villager from Zhongsheng Village, Heilongjiang Province, his son Mr. Yuan Shoujiang, and his daughter-in-law Ms. Gong Jinfen were taken away by police on December 21st because they practise Falun Gong. Subsequently, villagers from Zhongsheng Village submitted a joint letter to which more than 95 per cent of the residents signed their names. The letter vouches that the three members of Mr. Yuan's family are good people and didn't do anything illegal. They requested the three to be released.
  • Ms. Hu Miaomiao Still Mistreated After Suffering Sexual Abuse

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hu Miaomiao was detained at the First Section of Hebei Province Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shijiazhuang City. Under orders from Wang Weiwei, the section chief, several inmates severely tortured her. They used extremely base methods including using broom handles and their fingers to sexually abuse her. It caused tremendous damage to her both physically and psychologically. Three months have passed, but Ms. Hu still hasn't recovered from the trauma. She was taken back to the section after three months of solitary confinement and is being mistreated by the inmates under orders from the guards.
  • Mr. Tang Xiancheng Repeatedly Tortured at Changlingzi Forced Labour Camp in 2002 and 2003

    Mr. Tang Xiancheng was taken to Changlingzi Forced Labour Camp in August 2002 for practising Falun Gong. To force practitioners to renounce their belief in writing, police beat them, shocked them with electric batons, and put water over them before shocking them with multiple electric batons. Heart rending cries where heard at all hours. Some were held in solitary confinement cells or tied to an iron chair. Mr. Tang was forced to squat for a long time and not allowed to sleep until midnight, after which he had to squat again starting around 5:00 am. Prisoners would beat him if he moved.
