Xiao Ningjian, a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Official from Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, Actively Persecutes Falun Gong Practitioners

Xiao Ningjian is in his 40s. He is one of the key figures with the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) of Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, as well as the chief of the Domestic Security Group of the Najing City Police Department. All of his work focuses on persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Once arrested, to pressure them to give up practising Falun Gong, Xiao would torture practitioners with sleep deprivation to break their mental and physical resolve. When the victims refused to cooperate with him, he would fly into a rage, threatening, “I will certainly sentence you to forced labour.” -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Li Lixin Held in a Labour Camp in Heilongjiang Province
2011-06-15On March 14th, 2011 Ms. Li Lixin, a Falun Gong practitioner, was arrested and taken to Shangzhi City Detention Centre. On the following day, she was released after her family paid money to the local State Security Brigade. However, on March 26th, while at home, she was tricked and arrested by plain-clothed police. She was taken directly to Heilongjiang Provincial Women's Drug Rehabilitation Centre/Forced Labour Camp, for a one-year term. -
Ms. Xue Jingjing from Liaoning Province Speaks Out on the Arrests of Three Family Members within Three Hours
2011-06-15On March 29th, 2011, my family was having dinner when three strangers suddenly broke into our home. They claimed that my mother was a "fugitive", and without presenting any legal documents, they attempted to arrest her. My father and I resisted them, and finally drove them out of our house. Later, the police broke down our door and forcibly took my mother away. My father and uncle argued with them, but they were also arrested. Within three hours, three members of my family were taken. -
Older Practitioner Mr. Guan Zhenyuan Dies as a Result of Torture in Gansu Province Prison
2011-06-14Mr. Guan Zhenyuan was arrested multiple times, his home was ransacked, and he was detained and extorted of money after the persecution of Falun Gong began, all because he upheld his belief in Truth-Compassion-Forbearance. He was sent to one year of forced labour in 2001 and had to leave home in 2002 to avoid being arrested again after distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong. Police arrested him again in 2003 in Jinchang City, Gansu Province, and sentenced him to eight years in prison. Mr. Guan's health was severely damaged to the extent that he could not take care of himself. Prison authorities released him but he could not eat. He always vomited after a meal, and was as thin as a skeleton. He died on June 2nd. -
Recent Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Yanbian Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province
2011-06-14Police secretly monitored Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Xiaohua. On March 3rd, 2011, they planned to harass Mr. Liu, however when they knocked on his door, but no one answered, so they left. On the morning of March 4th, they broke into Mr. Liu's home and arrested Mr. Liu and Mr. Zheng Lijun, another practitioner. Both practitioners were forcibly taken to Tumen City Police Bureau, and were tortured while being detained in separate cells. The police took turns torturing Mr. Liu Xiaohua and Mr. Zheng Lijun around the clock, without allowing them any sleep. Mr. Liu's legs were broken during the torture. In order to cover up what they did, the officers did not allow his family to visit him. Mr. Liu is currently detained in Houanshan Detention Centre of Tumen City. -
Practitioners Arrested by Officers from Li County Public Security Bureau in Hebei Province
2011-06-14Mr. Zhao Xiaochang is in his 50s and lived in Nanguan Village, Li County. On September 23rd, 2009, when he had just come home after helping his friend harvest corn, a gang of police officers barged into his home and arrested him without showing any identification. They ransacked his home and took his computer, Falun Gong books, and many other items. Mr. Zhao was cruelly tortured in the county detention centre. They handcuffed him and put fetters on his ankles many times for extended periods. Officer Wang Ruixin also connected the handcuffs and the fetters so that Mr. Zhao could not stand. Mr. Zhao went on a hunger strike to protest the unjust treatment. -
Ms. Peng Yan from Wuhan City Arrested Again and Her Oldest Brother Facing Unjust Sentence
2011-06-14Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Peng Yan was arrested by officials and police on May 27th. Her oldest brother Mr. Peng Liang and three other practitioners were scheduled to be tried two days later. After attaining the power of attorney from her brother, she had hired a lawyer to defend her brother’s case. However, the authorities took her into custody again. All five members of Ms. Peng Yan's family are practitioners of Falun Gong. During the past 11 years since the persecution began, all five have been repeatedly arrested, detained and sentenced. -
Older Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wu Yuqin Died in 2003 as a Result of Persecution in Inner Mongolia Eight Years Ago
2011-06-13Practitioner Ms. Wu Yuqin died as a result of persecution by the State Security Brigade of the Public Security Bureau of Xilinhaote City. Because of Ms. Wu Yuqin's faith in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, she was secretly arrested and held at the Xilinhot City Public Security Bureau building on December 23rd, 2003. On December 24th, Ms. Wu Yuqin's corpse was thrown from the Xilinhot City Public Security Bureau building and left there. There is an ongoing investigation on how and what kinds of torture Ms. Wu Yuqin endured before her death. -
Ms. Du Juan Persecuted to Near Death at Beijing Women's Prison
2011-06-13Ms. Du Juan has been tortured to the point of near death at Beijing Women's Prison. She suffers from late-stage cancer that has spread throughout her body and relies on taking painkillers daily to relieve the pain. Her family requested a medical release, but prison officials have refused to release her because she has not given up her practice of Falun Gong. Meanwhile, they also claimed that her illness is terminal and attempts at curing her are futile, so they do nothing more than offering painkillers and refuse to let other hospitals treat her. -
The Persecution of Engineer Wang Yongming in Tianshui City, Gansu Province
2011-06-13Since the Communist regime started its persecution of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Mr. Wang Yongming, 45, has been arrested and detained many times. His most recent sentence was 11 years in December 2001. He suffered tremendously at the Tianshui Prison. The guards forced detained practitioners and other inmates to weave rugs every day. One day the guards put Mr. Wang in shackles. Zhang Yanming yanked the shackles hard, causing him to fall to the ground. Around five people came to shock him all over with electric batons. Guard Liu Jiangtao even inserted his baton into Mr. Wang’s mouth and didn’t stop until it ran out of charge. After Mr. Wang was finally released on medical parole in February 2010, Beidao District Police Department agents still constantly harassed him. -
Ms. Lian Taotao Monitored at Home after Release from Brainwashing Centre
2011-06-13A group of Furong District 610 Office agents (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), seized Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Lian Taotao outside her apartment building on May 5th, as she was on her way out. She was immediately taken to the Changsha Legal Education Centre. The local authorities set Ms. Lian free two days later on condition that her family agree to have her personal belongings confiscated and her freedom restricted after her release. She is now closely monitored at home. -
High School Teacher Ms. Yu Changli, from Nongan County, Jilin Province, Persecuted to Death
2011-06-12Practitioner Ms. Yu Changli was a maths teacher at the Fourth High School in Nongan County, Jilin Province. On May 2nd, Ms. Yu Changli and Ms. Yang Shumei, both detained in the Nongan County Detention Centre, were rushed to the emergency department at the Second Hospital of Jilin University, Changchun City. Ms. Yu Changli passed away that same day. She was only 44 years old. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started its persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, Ms. Yu went to the National Appeals Office in Beijing in February 2000, but was arrested. Over the years Ms. Yu was arrested, detained in detention centres and tortured for continuing to follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in her life. -
Liaoning Women's Prison Forced to Release Jiang Yanling Due to Her Critical Condition Resulting from Persecution
2011-06-12On December 22nd, 2009, police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Jiang Yanling. She was sentenced to 13 years by the Yi County Court in 2010. She was first locked up in Jinzhou City Detention Centre where she developed serious symptoms resulting from being persecuted for almost 10 months. Then she was transferred her to the Liaoning Women's Prison around September 11th, 2010. She was tortured there and developed a tumour in her uterus, heart disease, and blood vessel tumours. They sent her to the prison hospital. A few days later the prison called Ms. Jiang's family to come take her home because she was on the verge of death. She returned home on April 30th, 2011. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Niu Huimin Persecuted at Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labour Camp
2011-06-12Falun Gong practitioner Niu Huimin was arrested by police on June 12th, 2010. During the arrest officers broke Ms. Niu's kneecap and ankle, and dislocated her lower spine. They dragged her by the hair and slammed her head against a wall, giving her concussion. Officers handcuffed her behind her back and took her to Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labour Camp. She was brutally beaten in the labour camp. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Cui Jianjun from Pingdu City, Shandong Province Physically Tortured with Hanging by Handcuffs
2011-06-12Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Cui Jianjun was arrested by the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) on July 14th, 2008. On July 29th, without notification to his family, he was sent to the Shandong Province Second Forced Labour Camp where he was imprisoned for a year. During his detainment, he was subjected to hanging torture for three days because he wrote “Falun Gong is good.”
