  • Communist Regime Agents Take 62-Year-Old Ms. Li Zhongming to a Brainwashing Facility in an Ambulance

    On July 15th, 2011, an ambulance stopped 20 metres away from Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Zhongming's home. Ms. Li was seen being carried down from the fourth floor by two men, shoved into the ambulance, and restrained on a stretcher inside it. Her family went to the Gaoba Police Station to demand her release, but officer Yang Jianguo refused to disclose her whereabouts. She was taken to a brainwashing centre. Guards played videos slandering Falun Gong daily and forced Ms. Li to watch. Afterward she was forced to write her thoughts. Ms. Li wrote “Falun Gong is good” and explained the facts about Falun Gong to the staff in the brainwashing facility. The staff hysterically cursed and threatened her, calling her “anti-Party” and saying, “You're counterrevolutionary,” and other things.
  • Three Elderly Female Practitioners Sentenced in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province

    The Wucheng District Court in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, sentenced three female practitioners for practising Falun Gong and telling others the facts about the persecution. The practitioners are appealing to the middle court. Ms. Bao Xiaomei, 74, was arrested on June 25th, 2010. Several policemen broke into her home, seized her property and Falun Gong books. Police took her to the Qiyi Farm Brainwashing Camp from June 25th to August 7th, 2010. The court sentenced Ms. Bao to seven years in prison.
  • Mr. Liu Yongwang, an Engineer from Beijing, Sues Jidong Prison Guards for Torture

    Recently, it was made known from Jidong Prison that Mr. Liu Yongwang is suing the lawless guards in Jidong Prison, which is having the good effect of exposing the illegal actions prison guard Zheng Yajun committed against him and other detainees. The prosecution department of Jidong Prison recently informed Mr. Liu Yongwang that the prison decided to punish guard Zheng Yajun. Mr. Liu's attorney called the prosecution department of Jidong Prison and was given confirmation that this was so.
  • Ms. Qing Guangrong from Pengzhou, Sichuan Province Beaten and Force-Fed in Sanshengsi Brainwashing Centre

    Police surrounded Ms. Qing Guangrong's home and ordered her to open her door. Several of them then forcibly broke into her home and confiscated her Falun Gong and other materials, as well as 5,000 yuan in cash. They then drove Ms. Qing to Sanshengsi Brainwashing Centre where she has been detained for over four months. Party secretary Wan Wenxue slapped Ms. Qing, and officer Tang Lu grabbed her head and rammed it against the wall. Clumps of Ms. Qing's hair came out. Police then severely beat Ms. Qing until she fainted. Ms. Qing went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. Police force fed her. Ms. Qing had difficulty breathing during the forced feeding and they injured her mouth, leaving her in pain for over a week.
  • Dongfeng County Police in Jilin Province Stun Ms. Zhu Deyan with an Electric Baton and Steal Her Belongings

    Two village heads and four police officers broke into practitioner Ms. Zhu Deyan’s home on September 14th. Two policemen brutally beat Ms. Zhu, shocking her with an electric baton twice. After Ms. Zhu was stunned and unconscious, the police found a locked cabinet. Assuming that there were valuables inside the cabinet, the police searched everywhere for the cabinet key. When Ms. Zhu regained consciousness, the police stunned her again. The police not only broke into and entered a private residence, but they also openly and unscrupulously robbed an innocent woman of her personal belongings. The police took many of Ms. Zhu's belongings.
  • Ms. Geng Ruizhi Sentenced to Four Years in Prison, Her Daughter Arrested and Threatened

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Geng Ruizhi was sentenced to four years in prison by a local court. She was taken to the Inner Mongolia No. 1 Women's Prison at the end of August. Police interrogated and tortured her while she was in custody. They tied her to a customised metal chair and deprived her of sleep for six days; in addition, He Cai severely beat Ms. Geng. As a result, the joints in Ms. Geng's wrists were seriously damaged, and her health deteriorated. When Ms. Geng was arrested at home in February, her daughter objected to the police taking her mother away. The police proceeded to arrest both of them.
  • Mr. Cao Dong Still Detained in Prison Beyond His Sentence

    When Ms. Yang Xiaojing sent the Vice President of the European Union, Mr. Edward McMillan-Scott, her favourite wedding photo taken with her husband Mr. Cao Dong, in an attempt to rescue her arrested and detained husband, she herself was constantly being threatened by the Chinese Communist Party's 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). Afterwards, for over a year, Ms. Yang went everywhere, from Beijing to northwest China, appealing for her husband until she developed cancer. She passed away on October 1st, 2009, and died without seeing her husband again. Now her husband is still detained in Gansu's Tianshui Prison. He has been held beyond his prison term.
  • Thirteen Practitioners Arrested in Ruichang City, Jiangxi Province

    Thirteen Falun Gong practitioners were recently arrested by officers from the Ruichang City Police Department in Jiangxi Province. Ms. Zhu Xiaomei and Liu Juzhen were arrested by police on May 21st, while they were out putting up posters exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked and their families were forced to pay 10,000 yuan each in cash. The practitioners were released on June 5th, but were put under surveillance at their home.
  • A Sham Trial Against Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Yang Xueyan from Qingdao City, Shandong Province

    On May 13th, 2011, Ms. Yang Xueyan was arrested by police because of her personal collection of Falun Gong books and materials containing important facts about Falun Gong and about the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). She was then detained in Dashan Detention Centre in Qingdao City. She was tried at Laoshan District Court on September 9th. After having witnessed the sham trial against his daughter, Mr. Yang shouted angrily as he exited the courthouse, “The Communist Party is worse than the mafia!” She was tried again on September 19th at No. 1 Court of Dashan Detention Centre in Qingdao City.
  • Ms. Hu Shenhua from Yi County, Hebei Imprisoned for Over Eight Years

    During the Communist regime's 12-year persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Hu Shenhua spent eight and a half years in prison, where she experienced brutal torture. She recounts her experience in detention: "Guard Ji tried to force me to say slanderous words about Falun Gong but I refused. He then hit me in the chest and stuffed my mouth with lit cigarettes. As a result, the inside of my mouth was burned and covered with many blisters. After several consecutive days of being tortured and interrogated this way, I was unable to stand, eat or drink.”
  • Neighbours Protest as Police Brutally Beat Sichuan Practitioner Mr. Zhao Xinghe

    On April 8th, 2011, Mr. Zhao Xinghe was writing “Falun Gong is good” on a street light pole when patrol police spotted him. Soon after, three police vehicles showed up and seven or eight officers got out. They brutally beat Mr. Zhao, slapped his face, stripped off his trousers, and took him to Gongping Police Station. Mr. Zhao's neighbours came to stop the police. “Why are you hitting him? He is very naive. Do not hit him.” “I watched him grow up. He does not do bad things.” A policeman said, “He practises Falun Gong.” The neighbours asked, “How come is it not good to practise Falun Gong? They are good people.”
  • Over 30 Practitioners from Jinshi City, Hunan Province Arrested and Their Homes Ransacked

    More than 30 practitioners from Jinshi City in Hunan Province were arrested on September 5th, 2011. The police ransacked their homes and confiscated many of their personal belongings. Some practitioners have been transferred to other counties and cities. Several practitioners, including Ms. Ou Shulan, Fang Xiaopeng and Ms. Ding Xuecui, have managed to escape and returned home. Ms. Liu Qingxiu’s older sister, who is a not a practitioner, was also taken into custody and tortured. With the help of her family’s strong protest to the authorities, she was released five days later.
  • Facts of the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zhang Ping from Lanzhou City, Gansu Province

    Due to practising Falun Gong Ms. Zhang Ping was sentenced to five years of forced labour and lost her job at the Hualong Security Department of the Gansu Province Trust and Investment Company. While walking down Baiyin Road in Lanzhou City on August 13th, 2002, Ms. Zhang was seized by policeman Wei Dong and other officers from Lanzhou City Police Department. Wei snatched the more than 2,000 yuan in cash she carried with her. Because she shouted “Falun Gong is good,” Wei and another man beat her savagely, leaving her head covered with bumps and her mouth and nose oozing blood, which stained her clothes. Her left ear drum was broken and she suffered a minor concussion. Wei also made a rope by twisting a strip of cloth and gagged her mouth with it for four straight hours.
  • Chengdu Falun Gong Practitioner Gu Huaibing Sentenced; His Family Is Appealing

    Wuhou District Court in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, sentenced seven practitioners to imprisonment. Mr. Gu Huaibing was sentenced to seven years, Zhou Yaping to two years and four months, and Liao Jianpu to two years and six months. Zhao Haiping, Wang Hongbo, Wang Jianguo, and Li Xiaoyan received three years each. The seven practitioners all said that they would appeal their sentences because practising Falun Gong does not violate the law.

    Ms. Hu Zhenru was recently sentenced to one year of forced labour. Ms. You Bo, who is Ms. Hu's daughter, was held at a brainwashing centre. Ms. Hu's family was trying to safeguard their legal rights by means of the law. Officer Zhou Guoyi threatened Ms. Hu's husband, “We will punish harshly whoever hires a lawyer!”
