Persecution Account of Ms. Liu Yanhua from Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Yanhua has been abducted, imprisoned, subjected to brainwashing and “re-education” through forced labour, and suffered other forms of torture since the persecution of Falun Gong began in July 1999 under the Jiang Zemin, [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] regime. In February 2009, Ms. Liu was subject to the “Big Hang-Up” torture for four days. She was hung on a bed with her arms pulled straight out while handcuffed. This was the first time. The second time, she was hung up for five days. In October 2009, she was subjected to the “Iron Chair” torture for an entire month with her hands cuffed behind her back. -
Many Practitioners Arrested in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia
2011-09-28On April 18th, 2011, police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ren Suying, ransacked her home, and detained her in Wudan Town Detention Centre. Ms. Ren Suying is facing trial. Ms. Cong Pei'an, in her fifties, was arrested on her way home on August 21st, by police. She is being held in Yuanbaoshan District Detention Centre. Domestic Security Division chief Wang Heran and agent Feng Xiaohu interrogated her and tortured her. Agent Feng dragged her by the cuff into a police vehicle. She has wounds on her face, legs, and belly, and her blood pressure is high. -
Practitioner Ms. Tang Tianmin from Luzhou City Persecuted in Sichuan Brainwashing Centre
2011-09-28On July 12th, 2011, plainclothes police officers arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Tang Tianmin and took her to the Jiantaoshanzhuang Brainwashing Centre. Ms. Tang opposed the persecution by holding a hunger strike for eight days, until she was released. Ms. Tang was assigned two collaborators (former practitioners, brainwashed against Falun Gong, made to assist in brainwashing and torturing practitioners). They monitored her around the clock and forced her to listen to or watch propaganda which defamed Falun Gong. They also tried to force Ms. Tang to write statements renouncing her belief in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, using fear, pressure, corporal punishment, and threats of not being released. -
Director of Retirement Home Dies as a Result of Persecution in Panjin Prison, Liaoning Province
2011-09-27Mr. Fan Zhenguo was sentenced to eight years in prison in 2008 for practising Falun Gong. While in prison, he was subjected to forced labour, and he lost consciousness several times due to abuse. Three years later, on September 11th, 2011, he died as a result of persecution in Panjin Prison at the age of 50. On September 13th, prison authorities forced his family to cremate his body. -
Firsthand Account: Ms. Peng Xiumin from Qinhuangdao City Beaten and Subjected to Forced Labour
2011-09-27On July 21st, 2010, a fellow practitioner and I explained the facts [about Falun Gong] to workers at a construction site. Police arrested us. We were interrogated and searched. During the detention, several guards held me down on the bed. They held my head, pinched my legs, and struck my hands. One guard pinched my nose shut with his fingers. They forced my mouth open to pour in unknown drugs. My legs and arms were still black-and-blue 10 days later. Later, I was also forced to do slave labour for 15 and a half hours each day. -
Mr. Yang Zongquan Secretly Sentenced to Four Years in Prison by Jiaozhou Court in Qingdao City
2011-09-27Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yang Zongquan was arrested by the police on March 30th, 2011. Jiaozhou Court of Qingdao City recently secretly sentenced him to four years in prison. His family still doesn’t know where he is. His family went to the Jiaozhou Detention Centre numerous times demanding to see him, but each time they were turned away. When his wife asked where Mr. Yang was being detained, the answer was, “We don’t know.” -
Mr. Zhao Ziliang and Ms. Liu Yanmei from Yinan County, Shandong Province, Arrested
2011-09-27Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Zhao Ziliang and Ms. Liu Yanmei were arrested by agents from the Yinan County 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) on September 8th. Mr. Zhao was taken to the Linyi City Brainwashing Centre. Ms. Liu’s whereabouts are unknown. Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to persecute Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Ms. Liu has been arrested multiple times for not giving up the practice. To force her to “transform,” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] CCP agents had arrested her twice, held her in a forced labour camp and beat her. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zhao Jun from Xichang City, Sichuan Province Sentenced to Three Years Imprisonment
2011-09-26Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhao Jun, 53, from Xichang City, Sichuan Province was recently sentenced to three years of imprisonment. She has appealed to the Intermediate Court in Lianshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture. Ms. Zhao has greatly benefited in mind and body from practising Falun Gong. In order to explain the facts about Falun Gong, she often told people what she had personally experienced and the facts about regime's persecution. She was arrested and sent to the Xiaomiao Detention Centre in Xichang City on November 30th, 2010. -
After Serving Prison Terms, Three Falun Gong Practitioners from Yushu City, Jilin Province Remain Incarcerated in a Brainwashing Centre
2011-09-26Ms. Yu Aihua, Mr. Lu Xianfeng and Mr. Li Manting are Falun Gong practitioners from Yushu City, Jilin Province who are incarcerated in the Xinglongshan Brainwashing Centre in Changchun City. Mr. Lu and Mr. Li were directly taken to the brainwashing facility after having already served prison terms. Falun Gong practitioners are forced to watch video programmes containing hate propaganda against Falun Gong. They are frequently made to listen to hate speeches made by people who have been forced to renounce Falun Gong. They are frequently threatened with having their salaries or wages suspended and have to serve prison terms unless they renounce Falun Gong. If they refuse to give up their belief in Falun Gong, their family will not be granted visitations. -
Ms. Zhao Guirong Sentenced to Seven-Year Prison Term for Practising Falun Gong
2011-09-26Since China began its suppression of Falun Gong on July 20th, 1999, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhao Guirong's home has been repeatedly ransacked, and she has been repeatedly arrested and incarcerated in both forced labour camps and prisons. For handing out free materials containing important facts about Falun Gong and about the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) she was sentenced to a seven-year prison term by Balinyouqi People’s Court in Inner Mongolia in June 2010. She is now incarcerated in Hohhot No. 1 Women’s Prison in Inner Mongolia. -
Mr. Zhao Chunlei from Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, Arrested
2011-09-26At lunch break on September 8th, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhao Chunlei was about to prepare lunch at his workplace, when he suddenly heard urgent knocking at the door of his business. Looking through a window, he saw police vehicles outside. Mr. Zhao's company is a legal business, and his honest business practices and sincerity have earned recognition and praise from his business partners. The staff immediately knew that the police had come to harass them, so no one responded to the knocks. The police called for a locksmith and had the door opened. About ten police officers rushed in and sprayed hot pepper spray into the eyes of the employees, who were immediately in great distress. Mr. Zhao stood up to stop the police's evil deeds, and four officers ganged up to hold him down. Mr. Zhao and two other employees were arrested. -
Gao Huijie Files Lawsuit Against Liaoning Women's Prison After Being Tortured for Five Years
2011-09-25Practitioner Gao Huijie was repeatedly tortured in Liaoning Women's Prison, where she was held from 2005 to 2010. Her torture included being viciously beaten, deprived of sleep, and doused with cold water. After her release, in late December 2010, Ms. Gao filed a lawsuit against Liaoning Women's Prison for torturing her both physically and mentally during her imprisonment. On March 22nd, 2011, the prison denied all of her claims. Ms. Gao has since filed an appeal with the Shenyang Intermediate People's Court. -
Mr. Wang Zhidong Interrogated Under Torture and Sentenced to Forced Labour Camp
2011-09-25Falun Gong practitioner Wang Zhidong went to visit his friends on June 22nd, 2011, but was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division. The police officers took him to the basement, and tied his hands and feet to an iron chair. Another police officer came in and brutally kicked his legs with his steel-capped leather boots. Without giving his name, he was sentenced to two years in a forced labour camp. He was first sent to Chaoyanggou Forced Labour Camp in Changchun. After two months, he was transferred to Fenjin Forced Labour Camp in Changchun. His family did not know where he was or what had happened to him. -
Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labour Camp Guards Torture Falun Gong Practitioners with Electric Batons
2011-09-25Shijiazhuang Women's Forced Labour Camp guards Li Yaqin and others shocked Falun Gong practitioners with electric batons last month in attempt to “transform” [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] them, which left the practitioners covered with dark blisters. Guard Li Yaqin shocked Ms. Qi Junling for 40 minutes, resulting in Ms. Qi's face, mouth and body being covered with large dark blisters. Ms. Qi also suffered from oedema. -
Practitioner Jian Yicong from Deyang Area, Sichuan Province Develops Incontinence as a Result of Being Tortured
2011-09-25Practitioner Mrs. Jian Yicong was arrested on July 31st. After being held for two weeks in the detention centre of Jingyang District, she developed urinary and rectal incontinence as a result of being tortured. In order to avoid responsibility, the police told her family to bail her out for medical treatment. Meanwhile, they still planned to sentence her to prison.
