  • Seven Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested from Acheng, Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province

    Cheng Baoying's son was married in May of 2011. Several people, including Zhao Yuan from the wedding service company, were asked to be the wedding hosts. On July 10th, 2011, someone hired this company as their wedding host. Due to many Falun Gong practitioners being guests at the wedding, this drew the attention of the persecutors', and they reported it directly to the Heilongjiang Province Police Department. On July 16th, another person from Shuangcheng City hired this company as their wedding host. There were spies video taping the wedding secretly, and seven practitioners from Shuangcheng City were subsequently arrested. They are currently being detained at the Acheng District Second Detention Centre.
  • Ms. Liu Xiaohong Arrested in Sichuan Province, Her Father's Visitation Request Rejected

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Xiaohong came from Macheng, Hubei Province to Chengdu City, Sichuan Province for work. She was arrested by Chengdu police in June 2011. Her father came all the way from the countryside in Macheng to Chengdu to visit her, but none of the officers he met showed their badges or identified themselves. Instead, they nearly confiscated his ID and detained him.
  • Agents from Haicheng Domestic Security Division Tortured Mr. Tian Baowei

    The Haicheng Court in Liaoning Province put Mr. Tian Baowei on trial on August 26th. His family hired an attorney to plead not guilty for him. During the proceedings, Mr. Tian described the tortures he suffered. On April 2nd, 2011, Mr. Tian was distributing Falun Gong materials in Dagan Village, when villagers reported him to the police. Police then arrested him. In the police station, they punched and kicked him, resulting in a long wound on his leg. The scar is still clearly visible. The police grabbed his hair and pushed his head against the wall, pulling out handfuls of his hair. After being tortured for 12 hours, Mr. Tian was taken to Haicheng Detention Centre.
  • Ms. Wang Ruihua's Family Seeks Justice for Her Arrest and Assault by Police in Tianjin City

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Ruihua was arrested by police on February 26th, 2011, and later taken to a forced labour camp. Her family members went to the Banqiao Forced Labour Camp in Tianjin to visit her. Ms. Wang told her family that officers from the Shengli Police Station beat her, ransacked her home, seized her property, and attempted to sexually assault her. Ms. Wang’s family has filed a complaint at the police station.
  • Retired Elementary School Teacher Ms. Wu Guohui from Chifeng, Inner Mongolia Put on Trial

    Retired elementary school teacher Ms. Wu Guohui was put on trial at a Balinzuo Qi Court on September 14th. The lawyer entered a “not guilty” plea. Ms. Wu and her husband were arrested on June 5th, 2011 because they practise Falun Gong and have been detained for over 110 days. At present, she is extremely weak physically due to torture. She has symptoms of heart disease and anemia.
  • Falun Gong Practitioner Liu Ronghua Endures Two Years in Forced Labour Camp, Now Facing Additional Prison Sentence

    Falun Gong practitioner Liu Ronghua was due for release on September 22nd, after completing a two-year forced labour camp sentence. However, instead of a family reunion, her family received a phone call from the authorities informing them that Ms. Liu was being transferred from Masanjia Women's Forced Labour Camp to the Dalian Yaojia Detention Centre. She remained under arrest, awaiting sentencing. Her family was shocked and extremely upset by this blatantly illegal act. Inside the Masanjia Women's Forced Labour Camp, practitioners were forced to give up their beliefs and subjected to brainwashing, and also to perform heavy slave labour.
  • Ms. Zhao Li from Lanzhou, Gansu Province Faced Four Years of Torture in Prison for Practising Falun Gong

    In June 2007, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhao Li was arrested and sentenced to four years in prison for practising Falun Gong and having materials containing facts about Falun Gong. She faced four years of torture at Gansu Provincial Women's Prison until August 2010. At a detention centre, Ms. Zhao faced the torture of "Tiger Bench" for 3 consecutive days and 3 nights. In the end her limbs became stiff and she had difficulty walking. Ten days later Ms. Zhao bled profusely and lost consiciousness.
  • Former Head Nurse Ms. Wang Mingrong Dies in Less Than Ten Days at the Xinjin Brainwashing Centre in Chengdu, Sichuan Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Mingrong was arrested and taken to the Xinjin Brainwashing Centre around September 7th. (To disguise its true function to the outside world, the brainwashing centre is officially called the “Chengdu City Law Education Centre.”) Ms. Wang died of severe physical abuse and mistreatment around September 17th, less than ten days after being incarcerated. According to a witness, she was subjected to beatings and her body was covered in bruises. A funeral was held on September 22nd, and her remains were cremated on September 23rd.
  • Older Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Dai Zongqiu from Anqiu City, Shandong Province Dies as a Result of Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Dai Zongqiu was persecuted numerous times by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) agents. He died in July 2011 while he was living away from home to avoid the persecution. After the CCP started the persecution of Falun Gong in July 1999, Mr. Dai was arrested, detained, and subjected to home ransacking and forced labour.
  • Twelve Years of Atrocities at the Yunnan Province Women's Labour Camp

    Ms. Yang Suhong, a 24-year-old practitioner, was sent to the Yunnan Women's Labour Camp on November 30th, 2004 by police and Communist Party officials. Ms. Yang was emaciated and near death as a result of brutal brainwashing and torture. She was released in May 2005. She died about one month later, on June 11th, 2005. Ms. He Meihua was subjected to brainwashing and had to do forced labour at the labour camp. Her physical condition gradually deteriorated and her life was in danger. Labour camp officials finally released her, but she died soon afterwards.
  • Ms. Han Binying Severely Abused in Qianjin Forced Labour Camp in Harbin City

    Ms. Han Binying from Harbin City was arrested and taken to the Qianjin Forced Labour Camp in April 2010. The guards shocked her with electric batons and otherwise abused her. She also had more than 30,000 yuan extorted from her before she was released in April 2011. She recounts her experience: "I was reported to the police on March 21st, 2010, as I distributed information about Falun Gong. I was taken to Qianjin Forced Labour Camp in Harbin City. Division head Wang Min and political head Zhang Aihui tried to force me to write the three statements to give up my belief [in Falun Gong]. I refused to comply, so they tortured me. As a result, my legs were covered in bruises. They also shocked me with electric batons."
  • Various Torture Methods Used in Wuhan City Women's Forced Labour Camp

    Wuhan Women's Forced Labour Camp has used many torture methods on female Falun Gong practitioners. They removed the clothes from female practitioners in public, shocked them with electric batons, forced them to stand for long periods of time, deprived them of sleep, hung them up by handcuffs for several days, deprived them of toilet use, refused to let them meet with their family members, force-administered unknown drugs, and applied force-feeding techniques, just to name a few.
  • The Brutal Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in the Tilanqiao Prison in Shanghai

    One young male practitioner in Tilanqiao Prison refused to write a statement renouncing his belief in Falun Gong, so the assigned inmates forced him to sit still on a small low stool for extended periods of time. The practitioner was forced to keep one posture all the time with his hands behind his back. He was deprived of sleep as well, with inmates watching him in turns, hitting him with a stick on the head, back, arms, and legs every time he closed his eyes.
  • Mr. Wang Jinling Arrested on His Way to Work, His Whereabouts Unknown

    Mr. Wang Jinling went missing on the morning of August 26th. His wife looked for him everywhere and finally learned that he was arrested by Henghu City Domestic Security Division police. Mr. Wang's family has no idea where he is being detained. Since the persecution of Falun Gong started in July 1999, the couple have been subjected to persecution by local authorities. They had to live away from home to avoid the persecution in 2001. Hengshui City 610 Office agents searched for, followed and monitored the couple the entire time.
  • How the Guiyang Railroad Locomotive Factory Persecutes Falun Gong Practitioners

    Officials of the Guiyang Railroad Locomotive Factory have actively participated in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners over the past decade. They have dismissed practitioner employees and cut off their source of income. They followed Jiang Zemin's, [former leader of China and instigator of the persecution] three policies of “ruining their reputations, devastating them financially, and destroying them physically” in persecuting practitioners. According to law, forced labour terms should not result in termination of employment. However, the Guiyang Railroad Locomotive Factory fired practitioners who were sent to labour camps so that they could not make a living when they were released.
