  • Ms. Cui Zhanyun, 69, Dies Less Than Two Months after Release

    Ms. Cui Zhanyun died on November 3rd, 2014, less than two months after being released from a brainwashing centre. She was 69 years old. When she got home, she couldn't eat due to the severe pain in her arms, neck, and back. She told her family that her injuries were the result of being tortured and force-fed unknown drugs. Ms. Cui had been arrested 14 times and put in forced labour camps twice since the persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999.

    Simply for upholding their belief in Falun Gong, a family of six in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia has been repeatedly arrested since the Chinese Communist Party launched a nationwide campaign against the peaceful self-cultivation practice in 1999. The six family members have spent a total of 41 years in detention at the time of this writing. The father was tortured to death back in December 2009. Most recently, the middle daughter was put on trial for possessing Falun Gong books.
  • Primary School Teacher Dies from Breast Cancer That First Appeared in Prison

    Ms. Wang Min, 60, a teacher from Shenyang, died from breast cancer on November 1st, 2014. The cancer first appeared while she imprisoned for five years, from 2001 to 2006. After years of torture in prison, Ms. Wang developed a mammary gland tumour in 2004, the initial stage of breast cancer. When she was released in 2006, the tumour had grown and was festering.
  • Mother Dies Shortly After Police Harassment While Daughter was Detained

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Ning Qin's ill mother passed away on October 24th, 2014, after police harassment, and being forced to make a false statement against her daughter. Ms. Ning was not allowed to attend her mother's funeral. The family holds Fu Shuhua and Zeng Shuchuan responsible for Ms. Zhou's death.

    Sixty-four-year-old Ms. Niu Guixiang became a target after the persecution began in 1999. She was monitored for six months before her most recent arrest in April 2014. After tracking her for distributing Shen Yun DVDs [a New York-based world-class traditional Chinese cultural show], police officers deceived her by posing as water commission agents at her house. They barged in, ransacked her home, and then sent Ms. Niu to a detention centre the next day.
  • Doctor Dies after Protest Hunger Strike, Authorities' Refusal of Medical Parole

    Falun Gong practitioner Dr. Kong Qiuge, 67, from Urumqi passed away on October 22nd, 2014, at Urumqi Prison Hospital in Xinjiang. Dr. Kong was arrested by two dozen police officers on June 21st, because she was a Falun Gong practitioner. Immediately after she was arrested, Dr. Kong went on a hunger strike to protest the arrest. Police threatened her, saying that they would not release her even if she died. Her condition deteriorated rapidly until her death in Urumqi Prison Hospital.
  • Mr. Li Guangfan, 59, Dies as a Result of Long Term Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Guangfan passed away on September 18th, 2014, after long term persecution. He was 59 years old. His wife, Ms. Wu Fengyan, passed away at the age of 51 in 2010. She had also been repeatedly persecuted for her belief in Falun Gong. Mr. Li agonised over his wife's death, and the frequent harassment by the police increased his mental stress. He became paralysed and bedridden in the beginning of September, but the police continued to harass him at home.
  • Persecution of Falun Gong Continues in Inner Mongolia

    An engineer, a teacher, and two other Falun Gong practitioners were sentenced by the Baotou City Court at a show trial in Inner Mongolia on October 24th. The terms ranged from four to seven years. The four practitioners had already been detained for one and a half years prior to the sentencing. Chen Jianyong described the brutality of his incarceration in 2011: “I have been surviving unbearable tortures and tests of life and death."
  • Details Revealed: Brainwashing Centre Associated with September Arrests of Over 30

    Over 30 Falun Gong practitioners were arrested on September 2nd in Tonghua, Jilin Province. Twenty were sent to brainwashing sessions arranged by various local 610 Offices (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). The arrests and brainwashing centre detentions are consistent with the “final battle” plan of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), as reported by the Epoch Times in November 2013. A collection of 56 circulars from official agencies across China revealed that a renewed, nation-wide campaign to eliminate Falun Gong is underway.
  • Guizhou Woman Dies after 10 Years of Suffering, Family Suspects Forced Drug Administration in Labour Camp

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Jun, 42, died on September 18th, 2014, after 10 years of suffering from mental and physical disabilities. Family and friends suspected that she was fed or injected with drugs while being held at the Guizhou Province Women's Forced Labour Camp. Her lips, ears, and fingers turned black upon her death. Ms. Zhang was arrested in 2000, for sending appeal letters to the local government calling for justice for Falun Gong.
  • Paralysed from Torture in Prison, Older Jiamusi Woman Dies

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Qiu Yuxia, 59. was paralysed by the time she was released from Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison in July 2011. In prison, she was once tied to bed for more than two weeks, after which she developed high blood pressure, her body felt numb, and she had difficulty walking. She was forced to watch videos slandering Falun Gong. For the next two and a half years, she was bedridden and experienced agonising pain. She passed away on December 9th, 2013.
  • Arrests Increase by 42% in First Nine Months of 2014 Compared to 2013

    As the persecution of Falun Gong in China continues unabated in its 15th year, confirmed arrests during the first nine months of 2014 increased by 42% compared to the same period in 2013. Between January and September 2014, 61 Falun Gong practitioners were tortured to death, 643 were tried, 19 were sentenced to more than 8 years in prison, 663 were taken to brainwashing centres, and 4,925 were arrested.

An inmate kicked Ms. Wang repeatedly, while yelling, “If we kill you, it's within the death limit, and we're not responsible.”

One practitioner reported: “A 2,000-watt light bulb was placed about a foot away from my face. After a while, I was sweating profusely. The pain was unbearable.”

    “The Chinese Communist Party is carrying out savage deeds. Our son is an executed prisoner, and all of his internal organs were removed. Yet we were asked to pay an exorbitant price for his body,” said the family of the executed prisoner.
