  • Sweden: Swedish Human Rights Organisations Protest against the Persecution of Falun Gong at the Chinese Embassy

    On August 8th, 2008, 1 pm, a rally was held by Reporters without Borders, several Swedish NGOs, as well as MPs. They were there to protest against the Chinese Communist Party’s human rights abuses in the lead-up to the Olympics, including violating the promise about freedom of speech it made to the International Olympics Committee.
  • Finland: Falun Gong Practitioners Commemorate Persecuted Practitioners

    On the evening of August 8th, 2008, Helsinki Falun Gong practitioners held a candlelight vigil on the roadside along the Boulevard la Croisette in the city centre to commemorate the Chinese practitioners who have been persecuted to death by the Chinese Communist regime in mainland China.
  • Belgium: Raising Awareness about Falun Gong at an International Folklore Festival

    On August 9th and 10th, Falun Gong practitioners from Belgium held an activity at the International Folklore Festival in Edegem. The aim of this festival was to bring people from all over the world together for expressing their culture through music and dance. At the Falun Gong booth practitioners demonstrated the Falun Gong exercises.
  • Belgium: Press Conference Condemns CCP's Persecution of Falun Gong

    On August 6th, the Coalition to Investigate the Persecution of Falun (CIPFG) Belgium Chapter held a press conference in Brussels to call for action to end the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Renowned human rights lawyer George-Henri Beauthier and a victim of direct persecution attended the press conference.
  • Croatia: Raising Awareness about Falun Gong to the Croatian Media

    In the days leading up to the Olympics, Croatian practitioners contacted local media in order to let them know the the truth about Falun Gong and the brutal persecution. Prompted by a documentary shown on Croatian National Television ( HRT ) in which Falun Gong was referred to as a "sect", directly repeating the Chinese Communist Party's slanderous propaganda, the practitioners immediately focused on intensively contacting the Croatian media in order to expose the CCP's lies and allow the Croation people to hear the truth.
  • Finland: Falun Gong Practitioners Call for an End to the Persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)

    On August 9th, Falun Gong practitioners in Helsinki held an activity to raise awareness about Falun Gong and expose the CCP's nine-year inhuman persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. In particular, the practitioners condemned the increased arrests of practitioners in the lead-up to the Olympic Games.
  • Sweden: "Truly, Falun Gong is Everywhere"

    “We cannot bring these leaflets back to China, but when we finish reading we will give them to other Chinese people in the hotel to read. Maybe you don’t know, but this material is spread very quickly among them! Although some people do not dare to take it themselves, they all want to read."
  • Norway: Peaceful Protest against the CCP at the Chinese Embassy in Oslo

    On August 8th, Norwegian Falun Gong practitioners went to the Chinese Embassy in Oslo to protest against the CCP using the name of the Olympic Games to kidnap large numbers of Falun Gong practitioners. They also called for an immediate end to the CCP’s ongoing crime of removing live Falun Gong practitioner’s organs and selling them. From June 7th to June 30th, illegal cases of arresting Falun Gong practitioners have numbered over 8037.
  • Scotland: "A beautiful and peaceful charm"

    The annual Edinburgh International Arts Festival is an important annual event in Scotland, attracting British people and many other tourists from around the world. The 2008 Annual Festival parade began on August 3rd. Falun Gong have been participating in this event for seven years.
  • Sweden: Raising Awareness about Falun Gong in Stockholm

    The words “Falun Gong”, written in Chinese and English on a yellow banner, were especially dazzling under the intense summer sunlight in Mynttorget Square, near the Royal Palace in Stockholm. When people from the tour buses or tourists passing by saw the banner, they couldn’t help saying the words out loud.
  • Slovakia: 'Million Signatures' Petition Receives Media Attention in Western and Middle Slovakia

    From Monday July 21st to Saturday July 26th, a 'million signatures' petition campaign took place in western and middle Slovakia, with the goal of informing more people about persecution of Falun Gong in China and about the recent activity to stop it. These signatures will be used to raise awareness about persecution of Falun Gong in China and bring it to an end.
  • Switzerland: "We want to learn Falun Gong"

    “I am a beginner. Many movements may not be accurate but I feel great”, said Asele happily after learning Falun Gong’s five exercises. Asele said she lived in Kyrgyzstan, near China. This was the first time she had heard about Falun Gong. She learnt this traditional Chinese cultivation practice at the Asian Festival of Berne in Switzerland on July 26th, 2008.
  • Switzerland: Raising Awareness in Zurich about the Persecution of Falun Gong

    Falun Gong practitioners held an information day in Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich. They not only let people know about organ harvesting by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), but also called for an end to the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong. Numerous people came to support the activity by signing the petition.
  • Turkey: Practitioners Raise Awareness about Falun Gong in a Seaside Town

    On July 5th and 6th, Turkish Falun Gong practitioners were invited to go to Antalya by a group of people who had visited the Turkish Falun Gong website in the past. Practitioners raised awareness about Falun Gong and the persecution of the practice by the Chinese Communist Party.
  • United Kingdom: Cambridge Assembly to Call for an End to the Persecution of Falun Gong

    Falun Gong practitioners went to Cambridge to join an assembly held in the square of City Hall to protest against the Chinese Communist Party's evil persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. The event was also to support the 40 million people who bravely quit the CCP and its related organisations.
