Ms. Zhou Yafang, A Practitioner from Hunan Province Dies From Torture-Related Injuries Sustained in Police Custody

Ms. Zhou Yafang resided in Hunan Province. She was only thirty years old when she died. Simply for practising Falun Gong, Zhou Yafang was detained for over two years by the Qidong County Public Security Bureau. Ms. Zhou was beaten by the labour camp guards until her face was shapeless and the torture eventually reduced her to an emaciated shell. As a result of the torture, she lost consciousness. She was released when she was on the verge of dying and she died in her home at the end of September 2004. -
As of Early 2004, At Least Seven Falun Gong Practitioners Known to Have Died from the Persecution in Jieyang City
2004-11-08During the past five years in Jieyang City, Guangdong Province, the number of Falun Gong practitioners known to have died from the persecution has reached at least seven. The number of practitioners illegally detained was at least 14, and those illegally put into labour camps was at least 60. At least two practitioners were illegally put into the Provincial Legal and Law Institute, and at least four are currently being held in detention centres. Over 3,000 practitioners have been detained, arrested and put into brainwashing classes, including those who were detained more than once. -
After Repeatedly Suffering Unjust Persecution for Remaining Steadfast in Her Belief, Ms. Zheng Xueqiong from Dazu County Died in March 2004
2004-11-08Ms. Zheng Xueqiong, 65, was a resident of the Zhonghe Street Neighbourhood Community, Longshui Town, Dazu County, Chongqing City. She started practising Falun Gong in the spring of 1997. Falun Gong healed her partial paralysis and she no longer needed to take medicine. Ms. Zheng was sincere, kind, tolerant and generous. A lot of people perceived the greatness of Falun Dafa in her. -
61 Year Old Falun Gong Practitioner Yao Jingmin from Shaanxi Province Dies as a Result of Torture in March 2004
2004-11-07Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yao Jingmin from Shaanxi Province was 61 years old when he was sent to a forced labour camp, although the legal age limit for forced labour is 60 years. After more than four months of solitary confinement and torture, Yao Jingmin's whole body became swollen, his face became severely distorted and he could not take care of himself. He died as a result of torture in March 2004. -
Additional Information About Mr. Xiao Pifeng, Who Was Tortured to Death in 2003 for His Belief in Falun Dafa
2004-11-07Mr. Xiao Pifeng was from Shandong Province. Beginning on July 20, 1999 when the persecution began, he went to Beijing to declare that Falun Dafa is good and to urge the government to stop persecuting practitioners. For that he was jailed four times, detained six times, and sentenced to a labour camp for three years. On August 24, 2003, Mr. Xiao was tortured to death in the Qiugu Forced Labour Camp. -
Father and Husband Disclose More Details of the Death of Ms. Li Shuhua in 2003
2004-11-06Ms. Li Shuhua's father Li Fuchen, sixty years of age, works for the Environmental Department in Yushu City. In October 2003, his daughter Li Shuhua died as a result of the persecution, his son-in-law Yang Zhanjiu was unjustly detained, and Li Fuchen's wife Cui Zhanyun was sent to a forced labour camp. During that time Li Fuchen lived a miserable life with his two young grandsons. -

2004-11-05“At the end of February 2001, Ms Zuo Shuchun, myself and another fifteen steadfast practitioners were detained in a separate building. In the first half of March we started our hunger strike to protest the torture. On the seventh day of the hunger strike, guards started to force-feed us. Zuo Shuchun was the first person who was called out by the police, but she never came back. We asked the guards about her, but they tried to avoid talking about it and then we knew something bad had happened to her.” -
A Family of Practitioners is Severely Persecuted in Weifang City, One Beaten to Death
2004-11-05On the morning of October 14, 2004, Weifang City Police Department and the "610 Office" broke into elderly practitioners Li Hengnan's and Zhang Yufang's house. They abducted the couple and another visiting practitioner, Ms. Zhang Huiping, who is about 40 years old.They ransacked the house. According to witnesses, the three were pushed into a car with their arms twisted behind them, and Li Hengnan's buttons were torn off. Currently they are being detained in a brainwashing class. -
Mr. Ma Jijun, a Practitioner from Xinjiang Province, Is Tortured to Death
2004-11-04Mr. Ma Jijun was about forty years old. On March 4, 2004, the local "610 Office" abducted him and took him to a local brainwashing centre. Later they sent him to a mental hospital, where they continued to persecute him. In the middle of September, the hospital unexpectedly called his family and asked them to pick him up. When his family saw him, they found that Ma Jijun had serious oedema all over his body and that he was extremely weak. On September 27, 2004 Ma Jijun died. -
Practitioner Wan Liji Dies as a Result of Persecution in Nanchang City; His Daughter Is Left without a Father
2004-11-04Falun Gong practitioner Mr Wan Liji, 34, died as a result of persecution, leaving behind his four-year-old daughter, who is now being cared for by her maternal grandmother. Liji used to be a member of the special police at the Nanchang Public Security Bureau and part of the Donghu Police Squad. He was mentally and physically persecuted for five years for practising Falun Dafa. He passed away on February 9, 2004. -
Ms. Hu Qinglan, a Practitioner in her Fifties from Gansu Province, Died from the Persecution in 2001
2004-11-04Ms. Hu Qinglan, in her fifties, was a practitioner from Gansu Province. She went to Beijing to appeal to higher authorities on behalf of Falun Gong. She was arrested and brutally tortured. During that time, the guards didn't allow her to drink water, even though she was forced to do hard labour under the scorching summer sun. When she was finally released in the middle of August 2000, she was extremely weak. She was hospitalized in March 2001 and died at the end of April 2001. -
Stories about 50 Year Old Chongqing Dafa Practitioner Ms. Tang Meijun, Who Was Relentlessly Persecuted to Death in 2003
2004-11-03On December 28, 2003, the forced labour camp informed Tang Meijun's family that they could come get her from the Army Hospital in Chongqing City. When her family saw her, she had been dead for two days, but she still looked as though she had firm and unshakable resolve in her belief in Falun Dafa. After suffering the cruel persecution and torture by Jiang Zemin's regime for over two years the Chongqing Falun Dafa practitioner was killed. Tang Meijun was just 50 years old. -
Hebei Province Falun Gong Practitioner Mr Cui Fengqi Dies as a Result of Persecution
2004-11-0240 year old Mr. Cui Fengqi became fit and healthy after he started practising Falun Gong in 1998. After the unjust suppression of Falun Gong began in July 1999, he continued to promote and clarify the truth about Falun Gong. He was detained at his workplace many times. He was later subjected to abuse by the Tangshan City Detention Centre, where he was seriously injured both physically and mentally. He was fired from his job, harassed and humiliated by police. Due to the physical and mental torture that he suffered, Mr. Cui passed away on October the 15th 2004. -
Torture and Harassment Led to Death of 49 Year Old Guangdong Province Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Yang Mingxia
2004-11-02Ms. Yang Mingxia, 49 years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner from Guangdong Province. She was arrested and sent to the Sanshui Forced Labour Camp in Guangdong Province for three years of forced labour. She suffered from severe physical tortures and spiritual abuse in the labour camp. Ms. Yang was released in January 2004 and went home. She continued to be monitored, harassed and threatened. As a result, four months later, in May 2004, Ms. Yang Mingxia passed away. -
Weak from Torture, Police Apply Pressure on 60 Year Old Ms. Liu Yuying Until Her Death in September 2004
2004-11-02Ms. Liu Yuying, about 60 years old, was a resident of Henan Province. In December 2000, she travelled to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong and was arrested and detained in a forced labour cam for eight months. By that time, Ms. Liu had become extremely weak from the persecution, was emaciated and could barely walk. After she returned home, police continued to harass her at home. Under such tremendous mental pressure, Ms. Liu's health condition further deteriorated. She died on September the 17th 2004.
