Ms. Zhang Chunfang Dies as a Result of Torture in Beijing Women's Prison

In the beginning of 2004, Ms. Zhang Chunfang was reported while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution. She was detained in the Beijing Women's Prison for a three-year term. Because she was not allowed to do the Falun Gong exercises and because the guards mentally and physically tortured her, Ms. Zhang appeared to have many illness symptoms, such as high blood pressure, cerebral thrombosis, one side of her body going numb, nausea and vomiting. After being unconscious for more than ten days inside the Beijing Prison Management Hospital, she died on June 15th, 2007. -
Liu Liang's Death Raises Questions, 610 Office Obstructs Investigation
2007-07-05On December 26th, 2006, several agents from the local 610 Office and the police station broke into Mr. Liu Liang's home and arrested Liu Liang and his mother. The authorities attempted to sentence Liu Liang to prison, however due to lack of evidence, Liu Liang was released after a 20-day detention. On June 5th, 2007, Jiaozhou City Police Department went looking for Liu Liang intending to arrest him. Liu Liang met police on the village entrance path. Liu Liang, who was partially sighted, was frightened by the policemen and fell down the well together with his motorcycle. His body did not have bruises or injuries but his stomach was filled with water and it seems that he died from water inside his lungs. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Su Kezhen from Jingmen City, Hubei Province, Died As a Result of Persecution
2007-07-04Ms. Su Kezhen was in her 50s. The 610 Office arrested her several times. In prison, Su Kezhen protested with a hunger strike and suffered all kinds of brutal tortures. Several of her teeth were broken from the beatings, and due to the tight handcuffs, her hands were so seriously swollen that the police could no longer close the handcuffs. They had to clamp the handcuffs with metal wires to restrain her wrists. Furthermore, they hung her up by her arms and let her fall her to the floor again and again. Due to the torture while she was incarcerated and the frequent harassment and threats from the police, Ms. Su Kezhen passed away on the afternoon of May 24th, 2007. -
Senior Instructor Ms. He Yingqing of Changsha City, Hunan Province Died as a Result of Persecution in a Labour Camp
2007-07-03During the two years in the Baimalong Forced Labour Camp, Ms. He Yingqing was subjected to a variety of torture methods. In a period of about 60 days, she was only permitted to sleep for three hours per day. She was even prohibited from using the toilet. The guards shocked her with electric batons for an entire day, which made her arms black and blue with bruises. Ms. He Yingqing was handcuffed continuously in very painful positions for 40 days for more than 20 hours a day, excluding mealtimes. Later she was detained in the labour camp again. Under huge mental pressure and physical strain for many years, 41-year-old He Yingqing passed away on the night of June 24th, 2007. -
Authorities Continue Attempts to Destroy Evidence in the Case of a 33-Year-Old Engineer in Hebei Province Tortured to Death in 2001

The individuals responsible for torturing Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zuo Zhigang to death are again attempting to cremate his body, ensuring that all remaining physical evidence of their crimes is destroyed. Authorities try to have the body cremated against family wishes using the excuse that the family has "exceeded the body preservation time." Their behaviour arouses suspicions that by cremating Mr. Zuo's body they intend to destroy evidence of their crimes. They didn't notify Mr. Zuo's family. -
Ms. Liu Shujuan from Hebei Province Died under Persecution
2007-07-02On February 5th, 2006, Ms. Liu Shujuan went to the Xianghe County Police Department with more than thirty fellow practitioners to request the release of detained Falun Dafa practitioners. However, all of them were arrested and detained in the Dachang County Detention Centre. They were brutally beaten and some practitioners' teeth became loose and they still cannot chew. One practitioner was tied against the wall with all four limbs spread apart overnight. The practitioners were not allowed to wear jackets, even though it was freezing and the windows were open. She was forced to write a "guarantee statement" and was sentenced to forced labour. Soon after Ms. Liu Shujuan was released home she died on April 25th, 2007 due to the prolonged period of mistreatment she received. -
Additional Information Regarding the Persecution of Practitioners from Puning City, Guangdong Province
2007-07-02Ms. Liu Yanqing is 69 years old. The police constantly threatened and harassed her, and ransacked her home. In January 2000, when she went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong, she was arrested by the police in Guangzhou and imprisoned for 15 days at Wushi Prison in Puning City. The police also confiscated 4,000 yuan from her. In October 2004 she went to Tuyang Village to explain the true situation of Falun Gong to people. The public security personnel found out and as a result, Ms. Liu was arrested by police. She was then detained at the Puning City Detention Centre. Several months later, the Puning City court secretly sentenced her to three years in prison. She is currently imprisoned in the Huadu Women's Prison in Guangdong Province. -
Practitioner Zhou Shuhai Dies As a Result of Torture and Abuse at Daqing City Prison in Heilongjiang Province - His Remains Have been Cremated
2007-07-01Mr. Zhou Shuhai was reported to police for attending a conference held by practitioners from Tieli City. In April, 2006, he was sentenced to five and one-half years of imprisonment by the Yichun City Intermediate Court. His back was beaten, and he was hung up and forced to stand for a long time. The tortures were used in attempts to "transform" him. In late 2006, Mr. Zhou's family members were informed that he was seriously ill and they could come to visit him, but the prison would not release him. On May 27th, 2007, his sister and brother-in-law went to the prison and again asked for his release. Three days later, on May 31st, 2007, his family members got a call saying, "the person is dead." -
Three Falun Gong Practitioners from Liaoning, Heilongjiang, and Shandong Provinces Die as a Result of the Persecution
2007-07-01Mr. Zhang Wanmin was 66 years old. In 1999, after the persecution of Falun Dafa began, the authorities harassed him and levied several "fines" on him, totalling 1,300 yuan. In 2000, officials subjected Mr. Zhang Wanmin to physical punishment, forcing him to squat on the floor for a long time. Mr. Zhang was arrested and taken to the brainwashing centre several times. In 2001, he went to check in with the local authorities. Because he was late they scolded him and ordered him to curse Dafa. Mr. Zhang didn't comply, so Chen Yongdong made him stand for a long time. Following Mr. Zhang's release, he experienced heart problems. Having endured horrendous mental torment and physical abuse, a year later, on October 22nd, 2002, Mr. Zhang Wanmin had a severe heart attack and died. -
Ms. Fu Guiju from Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province Died from Force-Feeding in a Detention Centre
2007-06-30On the evening of May 12th, 2007, police arrested 12 Falun Dafa practitioners, including Ms. Fu Guiju. Most of the practitioners are elderly. Ms. Fu Guiju went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution and was released when she was close to death. on June 14th, the Qiaoxi District Procuratorate issued an "arrest" warrant for several practitioners including Ms. Fu Guiju. Plans were to severely sentence them. On June 18th, 2007, Ms. Fu Guiju died from force-feeding in the Shisanli Detention Centre, in Zhangjiakou City. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Zhang Xingcai Dies as a Result of Torture in Wumaping Prison in Sichuan Province
2007-06-30The local police in Panzhihua City arrested and tortured practitioner Mr. Zhang Xingcai in March 2004. In September 2006, they arrested him again and sent him to Wumaping Prison for further persecution. On March 30th, 2007, the prison phoned the family saying that Mr. Zhang had contracted septicemia and some kind of infection. His family saw him in Jianwei County Hospital on oxygen until the next day (March 31st), when he lost consciousness. At 7:00 p.m. on March 31st, the doctors came and told the family that Mr. Zhang had died. Just how practitioner Mr. Zhang Xingcai was persecuted to death at the Wumaping Prison has yet to be investigated. -
Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Chu Guilin, 56, Died as a Result of Persecution at Wangcun Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province
2007-06-29Mr. Chu Guilin, a practitioner from Shandong province, died on November 17th, 2006 due to torture at Wangcun Forced Labour Camp. Mr. Chu was injected with unknown drugs and became paralysed. Mr. Chu's family members demanded an explanation from the guards "How can a healthy person become handicapped overnight?" The guards did not accept responsibility. They claimed that the labour camp spent a lot of money on medical treatment for Mr. Chu. -
Horticulturist Meng Lingchuan from Shandong Province Tortured to Insanity; Suspected Killed
2007-06-29Mr. Meng Lingchuan was arrested and sent to Liuchangshan Brainwashing Centre in Jinan. He refused to cooperate or be brainwashed, and was sent to a labour camp for three years and brutally tortured. As a result, Meng became mentally ill. After he was released, he stopped talking to people, which was quite a contrast from his warm personality before. Even when he talked, his mind was not clear. Recently a body was found on Jiwang Highway near Guanzhuang Township. It had been hit by cars so many times that it was only a mixture of flesh and blood. Only a trainer and a foot inside the trainer were intact. Meng's wife suspected that the body may be Meng as the trainer matched the one belonging to him. -
Ms. Wang Yaqing from Miyun County, Beijing, Dies at Home after Being Injected with Unknown Drugs in a Forced Labour Camp Hospital
2007-06-27On August 15th, 2006, seven or eight policemen from the Binhe Police Station and the National Protection Team in Miyun County came to her hair salon and lifted Ms. Wang Yaqing up and threw her into a police car and drove away. She was first detained in the detention centre and then she was sent to the hospital within the forced labour camp. The doctor withdrew one syringe of fluid from her lower back and injected some unknown drugs. After the injection she felt dizzy and drowsy. She lived in pain for seven months before she passed away on May 27th, 2007. -
Older Ms. Li Yulan from Jilin Province Dies after Twice Being Detained in Forced Labour Camps
2007-06-2760-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Yulan had been detained in a forced labour camps twice. During the detainments she was severely tortured both mentally and physically. Upon release, police officers often went to her home to harass her family. She was forced to leave home and go from place to place to avoid further persecution. She passed away on June 18th, 2007.
