Mr. Yan Hongjie of Harbin City Dies as Result of Persecution
2008-03-09
Mr. Yan Hongjie was 46-years-old. In November 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Gong and since that time endured unjust detainment and persecution. As a punishment for doing the Falun Gong exercises in Yimianpo Forced Labour Camp the guards forced him to carry heavy rocks. A full basket of rocks on one's shoulder could make a person fall and breathing was difficult. Even so, Mr. Yan was forced to run uphill with a full bucket of stones on his shoulders. This hard labour produced wounds all over his body.The persecution that Mr. Yan Hongjie was subjected to caused him physical damage and financial ruin. He passed away on February 24th, 2008. -
62-Year-Old Ms. Qi Changping of Suining City, Sichuan Province, Dies as a Result of Persecution
2008-03-09Due to the Chinese Communist Party's long term persecution of Falun Gong, Ms. Qi Changping, a 62-year-old practitioner was forced to leave her home. Ms. Qi was detained many times and sentenced to a forced labour camp twice because she refused to give up her practice of Falun Gong. She was caught appealing for justice for Falun Gong. Even her relatives were harassed, and the police ransacked their homes. Her husband had nowhere to go to appeal for justice and passed away. She had to live a life in the harsh environment of homelessness until her death on February 11th, 2008. -
More Information on the Death of Older Practitioner Mr. Hu Zengxiang from Ju County, Shandong Province
2008-03-09Mr. Hu Zengxiang was over 60 years old. Mr. Hu never gave up his belief in the principles of Falun Gong--"Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance"--even when the persecution launched by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) was most severe. He never stopped speaking out for justice for Falun Gong either. In 2005, he was detained for more than a month in Wangcun Forced Labour Camp. After he returned home, he was very weak due to the brutal treatment he was subjected to in the labour camp. Mr. Hu was again secretly arrested by CCP personnel on December 29th, 2007. Within about three weeks he was dead. -
Supplemental Information Regarding the Persecution-Caused Death of Ms. Li Wenxia in the Tanggu District, Tianjin City

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Wenxia was arrested in 2000 and taken to the Tanggu Detention Centre. She was incarcerated for nine months and was near death at her release. She was barely breathing and looked skeletal. She could not see clearly, and her hearing was bad. She also had difficulty speaking. Communist regime agents still continually harassed and threatened her. Li Wenxia thus lived in great fear and could not recover properly. She finally died in December 2006. -
Facts Regarding the Death of Ms. Huang Yaoying as a Result of Persecution in Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province
2008-03-05Ms. Huang Yaoying, a practitioner, died as a result of persecution in the Chengnan Police Station of Gaozhou City in 2000. Government officials claimed that the reason for Ms. Huang death was unknown, but recently it was disclosed that Ms. Huang Yaoying had most likely died as a result of police brutality. An insider revealed that Ms. Huang Yaoying was hung up with handcuffs and had likely been beaten or tortured until she lost consciousness. The room and corridor were stained with blood. One of the doctors who performed the autopsy on Ms. Huang's body stated that her body was still bleeding at the time. Ms. Huang Yaoying was pronounced dead and sent for an autopsy, but she may have still been alive. -
Ms. Zong Xiuxia Dies Suddenly under Police Custody in Shandong Province
2008-03-04On February 22nd, 2008, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zong Xiuxia was arrested when she was distributing leaflets in public explaining the truth about Falun Gong so that the Chinese people could understand the unreasonable persecution and what Falun Gong is really about, and she died on the same day. Her body has been frozen, and details are yet to be investigated. The police said that Ms. Zong died from jumping out of the elevator in the hospital. We find this very unreasonable, for three police officers were watching her in the hospital. How could she jump out of the elevator in a crowded hospital in the middle of the afternoon? If it was true, why weren't there any witnesses? -
Older Practitioner Mr. Xu Linshan from Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, Has Died as a Result of Persecution
2008-03-04In October 2002, Mr. Xu Linshan, 57, was sentenced to five years in prison. Guards tortured him by stabbing him with needles, force-feeding him highly concentrated salt water, locking him in strictly monitored cell, etc. By 2004, his femur was broken, making him bedridden. He developed swelling in his whole body, cirrhosis, ascites due to cirrhosis, kidney failure, purulent meningitis, etc. He was as thin as a skeleton, jaundiced, blurry minded, and suffered loss of memory. He was dying when he was "bailed out for medical treatment." Mr. Xu was picked up by his family on December 31st, 2005. He was totally paralyzed yet the local police and neighbourhood administration still harassed him many times. He died on February 11th, 2008. -
Mr. Zhang Shunjie from Weizhou Town, Wei County, Hebei Province, Died as a Result of Severe Persecution
2008-03-04Mr. Zhang Shunjie was 41 years old. Because he refused to give up the practice of Falun Gong, he was cruelly beaten many times by the agents of the 610 Office, police and Wei County Detention Centre. The backs of his hands severely swelled up from the beatings. The palms of his hands and his body had been burned by the stove hook and cigarette butts. His skin was burned and black where he had been shocked with electric batons. Mr. Zhang suffered from many serious diseases such as cerebral hemorrhage, heart disease, and pneumonia, and for several years he frequently felt dizzy, experienced chest pain, spat up blood and had asthma. Over time these symptoms became more severe. On December 15th, 2007, Mr. Zhang Shunjie died an unjust death due to the persecution. -
Mr. Liu Zenglin, in His Seventies, of Hebei Province Dies as a Result of Torture
2008-03-02Mr. Liu Zenglin, who was over 70 years old, was arrested in June 2004 when he was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong. Police tried to force him to write a statement renouncing Falun Gong, but Mr. Liu refused to do so. Consequently, he was brutally tortured until he displayed symptoms of a stroke. He then spent two years of brutal persecution in a labour camp, where Mr. Liu became extremely weak and emaciated. When Mr. Liu returned home, he was very weak, could not eat, and coughed terribly every day. After being tortured both mentally and physically, Mr. Liu died an unjust death on February 9th, 2008. -
Practitioner Mr. Bai Yingjie of Harbin City Died from Persecution
2008-03-01
Mr. Bai Yingjie was persecuted so extensively that he became critically ill in the Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp. After he was released at the end of 2004, officers of the local police station and staff members from the residential district office harassed and threatened him in his home. Under the long-term persecution of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), he passed away on August 30th, 2007. -
The Body of Practitioner Mr. Huang Fujun Remains Unburied
2008-02-28Mr. Huang Fujun was taken to the First Detention Centre of Acheng on July 24th, 2007, after being tortured by police. He had bone fractures as the result of the torture. The police at first refused to allow his family to see him, and when his family was finally allowed to see him on November 2nd, he was already on the verge of death. His family sought outside help to obtain his release. In order to avoid being held responsible for his death, the authorities allowed Mr. Huang's family to pick him up from the hospital. On November 4th, Mr. Huang was finally taken home. He couldn't utter a word or recognise his family members. On November 6th, his face suddenly turned green, his mouth and eyes opened, and he passed away. -
60-Year-Old Ms. Zhang Jinlan Died as Result of Being Injected with an Unknown Drug in a Shaanxi Province Mental Hospital
2008-02-27In December 2001, Ms. Zhang Jinlan, around 60 years old, went to Beijing to appeal against the persecution. She was arrested and sentenced to one year of forced labour. She was sent to a detention centre, where she wore heavy ankle shackles for five months, causing her ankles to bleed and fester. She was released when she could no longer move as a result of the brutal treatment. In July 2002, the police arrested her again and took her to to Ankang (Mental) Hospital. She was inhumanly tortured and injected with unknown drugs. After only one injection, she felt like she was having stroke and could not move half of her body. By September 2002, Ms. Zhang could no longer walk and had become mentally disordered; she was near death. She was totally paralysed, could not recognise anyone, and the lower part of body was severely infected. She died on February 1st, 2008. -
Elderly Mr. Hu Zengxiang Dies after Seven Days of Police Brutality in Shandong Province
2008-02-26Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Hu Zengxiang was around 70 years old. On December 29th, 2007, police arrested him from his home, ransacked his house, and took away two thousand yuan cash. They said they were searching for a Falun Dafa radio station. Later, the police tried to cover up and spread a rumour saying that they "did not arrest Mr. Hu Zengxiang, for he had escaped." In fact, they tortured him seven days in detention. When he was released home, his feet were swollen to 5 inches in diameter, and one of his toes fell off as result of frostbite, his collarbone was broken, and he could not take care of himself. He was first detained by the Village officials, and they did not allow anyone to visit. Mr. Hu was eventually found dead in his home. -
Ms. Zhang Guizhi Tortured to Death in Liaoning Province
2008-02-26On March 9th, 2007, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhang Guizhi was followed by police from the Pingshan District Station when distributing leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong and arrested. The police also ransacked her home and took her personal belongings. On June 11th, 2007, the Pingshan District Court sentenced Ms. Zhang. Her family saw her being carried by two people into the courtroom, for she was very weak. The court requested money from her family, saying it was for her medical treatment. They took Ms. Zhang to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison in Shenyang City. Around February 7th, 2008 the Prison Administration called her family to pick her up. Her family took her directly to the hospital for emergency treatment, but she died on February 13th 2008. -
50-Year-Old Mr. Liu Quanguo Dies from Torture in Heilongjiang Province
2008-02-24Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Quanguo was sentenced to forced labour twice and served his terms in the Changlinzi Forced Labour Camp. He became very weak due to the abuse he was subjected to in the camp. The Fifth Ward guard Zhao Shuang once said, "You will die as soon as you are released." Mr. Liu was released in the autumn of 2006. He became weaker and weaker, coughing nonstop, and had the symptoms of tuberculosis. Soon he lost consciousness and died on February 16th, 2008 at age 50.
