  • Photo Report: SOS! Global Rescue Walk from London to Brussels

    On September 9, the practitioners arrived at the Grand Place of Lille, the capital of Nord Province, where they received a warm welcome from more than 60 practitioners from Paris. It was also the Liberation Day of Lille and the city held a big ceremony. Many citizens got an opportunity to learn about Falun Dafa. Over 5000 flyers were distributed. Paris practitioners hired a tour bus in order to join the ceremony, and a double-rainbow accompanied them all the way there.
  • Two British Practitioners Complete the 415-kilometre walk (258 miles) SOS Walk from London to Brussels

    On the morning of September 13, two British members of the European Parliament received us in person outside the parliament building. Both parliament members clearly expressed their support for us, and hoped they could help us further in depth. Another Belgian parliament member arranged a room in the Parliament for us to have a press conference. She clearly stated that she helped to host the meeting because she supports Mr. Li Hongzhi, a candidate for the 2001 Sakharov Prize and the efforts to rescue the Falun Gong practitioners who are persecuted in China.

    The Department of Culture in Wurzburg City, Germany invited Australian Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Cuiying to hold a Chinese painting exhibition. Because people were aware of Zhang's artistic accomplishments and the cruel persecution she suffered in China as a Falun Gong practitioner, her arrival drew a good deal of attention.

    On Wednesday, September 12th, Falun Gong practitioners met with the Latvian Foreign Policy Advisor to the State President. The practitioners found him to be a man of integrity, and totally sympathetic to our SOS rescue mission. He assured the practitioners that the State President is firmly committed to human rights and that, in fact, she had just returned from the human rights meeting in Durban, South Africa.
