The Path is Difficult - We Need to Cultivate More Diligently
2004-06-21I realised that what I heard in the past few days had been mentioned by Master in the Fa. What Master has taught our Dafa practitioners are not limited to just these things! It looked like my effort in studying the Fa was not enough, thus at a crucial moment, I took a detour and wasted quite some time, and was not able to directly receive enlightenment from what has been taught to us by Master in the Fa. It might also have to do with the issue of being firm in one's belief. Master has told us that the test in this aspect will always exist until the end of cultivation. -
Relationships among Fellow Falun Gong Practitioners Should Be Free of Attachment
2004-06-21.When some practitioners worked together for a while, they would develop feelings for each other and would be reluctant to part with one another. I feel that other than sharing understandings of the Fa and cooperating with one another in our work, there should not be any personal relationships among practitioners. A true cultivator should not confine him/herself to such a narrow frame of mind and treat fellow practitioners differently, treating this one well, not the others, or being closer with this one and not the others. -
Falun Dafa Brings Miraculous Recovery from Late-Stage Lung Cancer
2004-06-20When it was dinner-time, my dad held me up and sat behind me to support me so I would not fall down. Although I didn't need anybody to feed me, I was just barely able to put the food into my mouth. At that time, I was taking a lot of medicine. Nothing could help me, and my condition was becoming increasingly worse. I had to take a lot of painkillers to ease the pain. Because of the side effects of the medicine, I was in a nearly comatose condition most of the time. I almost forgot who I was. -
All My Relatives Know the Truth and Support Falun Dafa
2004-06-20We introduced the great benefits of Falun Dafa to our relatives and sent them truth clarification materials about the persecution of Falun Gong in China. We thus helped them know that Falun Gong practitioners are all striving to be good people, to be considerate of others in every way they can, to be selfless, altruistic and to assimilate to the standards of the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Our relatives gradually got to know about Falun Dafa and they all support Dafa. -
A Few Stories from Practising Outside
2004-06-19The second day I went out to practice, I really felt I was practising here and doing exactly what my fellow practitioners in China are suffering for the right do to. It is this exact environment to be able to practice and cultivate openly and freely that we are all working so hard to restore. Practising outside felt like a way of denying the persecution. It was the first time that I remember feeling so close to the practitioners in China, and I truly sensed that we are all one body that morning. -
Doing The Right Thing
2004-06-19Being truthful does not exclude controlling my tongue and does not give me license to be rude and unfeeling toward others. Being compassionate and patient, even with nosey or boring people is also “doing the right thing.” As in all uncomfortable situations, injecting a bit of humour or lightheartedness into a potentially confrontational encounter always helps a great deal. -
Clarifying the Truth to a Group of Colleagues at the Workplace
2004-06-18I used a louder voice and chatted lively with her about the persecution of Falun Gong. After a short while, I heard many sighs from behind me. When I turned around I saw many pairs of eyes gazing over their cubicle walls. They were all looking at me. Because a pillar was in the way, a new colleague even got out of his cubicle and was leaning on the cubicle wall listening intently. As he saw me looking at him he said at once, "Don't worry, I am not going to report you. I just want to hear about it." I replied, "I am not worried. Our workplace doesn't have such a tradition. We are all good people!" -
Experiences Clarifying the Truth in Jilin Province: In One Village Practitioners Now Practice Openly
2004-06-18People automatically went to practitioner's homes seeking information on the truth Falun Gong and some even started to practice Falun Dafa. This atmosphere also encouraged local Falun Dafa practitioners. More and more practitioners have been able to put away self-interest and go out into the community to clarify the truth, saving sentient beings. Practitioners cooperated together to form one harmonious indestructible body. This also influenced and encouraged fellow practitioners in the surrounding area. -
Only With Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Faith Can We Have Righteous Actions
2004-06-17Recently, symptoms of "illness karma" appeared amongst my fellow practitioners, including myself. There were two severe cases, of which one had to stay in the hospital, while the other, after going to the hospital and having a needle inserted, nearly lost his life. I will discuss these cases based on my current understanding. -
Heartening Days, Cherished Memories -- Remembering Teacher's Lectures in Jinan
2004-06-17The place for the first class in Jinan City was the small auditorium of the Shandong Young Cadres' College, on Jingshi Road in the Lixia District. There were several hundred people who attended. According to some practitioners, this was the smallest class Teacher had ever taught. However, Teacher did the same thing as he did for the other classes. He gave nine lectures in nine consecutive days and the tenth day was for answering questions. The classes ran for two hours per day and the fee was only fifty yuan for the whole lecture series. -
A Suggestion to Chinese Media: Report the Scandals Occurring in China, Not Just Those in Other Countries
2004-06-16All the major US newspapers published pictures of the US soldiers' abuse of the Iraqi prisoners. Does Jiang's group dare to publish in Chinese newspapers the bloody pictures of Falun Gong practitioners who have been tortured? During the nearly five years of this persecution, some western reporters have taken pictures of Chinese policemen cruelly persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. They have been arrested and had their film confiscated. This kind of thing happens all the time! -
The Story of a Young Practitioner "White Dove"
2004-06-16White Dove is a very pretty and adorable little girl. Her whole family was persecuted severely by Jiang's regime because they had the courage to step out and validate Dafa under any circumstance. After her father was illegally sent to a labour camp, a police officer from the local precinct would follow and harass her every day even though she was only an eight year old first grader at the time. The policeman was trying to pressure her to disclose her mother's whereabouts so that he could arrest her too, and soon, her school also began to pressure her. -
The Experience of Giving Lotus Flowers to the Neighbours of a Chinese Consulate
2004-06-15We have frequently been in front of the consulate over the past four years, which has more or less brought some inconvenience to the neighbourhood. Therefore, we decided to do something for the neighbours of the consulate. Many elderly practitioners were personally involved in making the paper lotus flowers. Through making and unfolding the flowers for an extended time, however, some practitioners' fingers hurt so much that they could not even button their clothes. Never before have I realised that the lotus flowers are so beautiful. -
Rectifying Our Standards
2004-06-15One day when I erected my hand to send forth righteous thoughts, I felt deep in my mind that sending forth righteous thoughts is a manifestation of Teacher's boundless trust in Dafa practitioners. Teacher bestowed this responsibility on practitioners! An extremely sacred and dignified power filled my heart. Yes, I thought, isn't Teacher's trust the most compassionate power bestowed on us and the most sacred praise? What excuses do we have to keep us from being diligent?
