Ms. Zhou Huafang from Qingyang City, Gansu Province Dies as the Result of Torture
2007-08-05
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Zhou Huafang, 58, went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa, and was arrested on Tiananmen Square. Detained in Gansu Second Forced Labour Camp, Ms. Zhou Huafang endured cruel torture and forced brainwashing to the point of her suffering a nervous breakdown. She was as thin as a skeleton, and even her eyes looked slow and glazed over. She was beaten constantly, deprived of her right to eat, and forced to stand in the rain. She was transferred to the Jiuzhou Development Zone Prison in Lanzhou City, where she was tortured with electric baton shocking and other methods. Unknown drugs were forcibly injected into her. She went into a vegetative state. Ms. Zhou Huafang died on July 3rd, 2007. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Chen Hanchang from Qidong City, Jiangsu Province Died After Long-term Detention and Torture
2007-08-02Mr. Chen Hanchang, 54, was detained at Qidong Detention Centre, Fangqiang Labour Camp and various brainwashing classes for a long time. Because he refused to give up his belief, he was transferred to other areas to suffer further persecution after serving his detention in the local area. While in detention, he suffered from inhumane torture, including beatings and was forced to do long-term, intense physical labour. When he was released on November 20th, 2003, he was in an extremely weak condition and lost consciousness. He passed away three days later, on November 23rd, 2003. -
Older Practitioner Ms. Fu Guiju from Hebei Province Tortured to Death after Suffering from Eight Years of Persecution

On May 12th, 2007, Ms. Fu Guiju was arrested and tortured in a detention centre until her life was in danger. On June 4th, she was arrested again and tortured further. On June 19th, police notified Ms. Fu's family that Ms. Fu had died on June 18th. She was 58. When her family asked how and where she died, the person was unwilling to accept responsibility by telling them, "I don't know anything about it. You have to go ask the detention centre authorities." -
Five Falun Gong Practitioners from Hubei, Shangdong, Guangdong, Jilin and Hunan Provinces Pass Away as a Result of the Persecution
2007-07-30Ms. Liang Tianying, 68, began practising Falun Gong more than ten years ago. Her illnesses disappeared after she began the practice. Since the persecution of Falun Gong began, she had been detained by the local 610 Office and detention centre. She was also constantly harassed and persecuted. The police constantly followed her. Her family was harassed in May of this year. The elderly lady was under pressure for many years, which caused her mind and body to become exhausted. Her health declined dramatically and she passed away on May 19th, 2007. -
Three Practitioners from Liaoning Province, Hubei Province, and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Died as a Result of Persecution
2007-07-30Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Guo Yuzhi went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa in 2000. She was arrested in Tiananmen Square and brutally beaten by police. The thugs tied rope around her breasts and pulled very hard, causing her breasts to be severely damaged. After 15 days of torture, she was taken back to Yichang City and detained in the Yichang City First Detention Centre for 15 days. The detention centre authorities saw that she was dying, so they released her. At that point her breasts had become badly infected. Ms. Guo suffered for several months before passing away. -
The Deaths of 20 Falun Gong Practitioners Confirmed in June 2007 (Photo)
2007-07-29Ms. Wang Yaqing was a 46-year-old hairdresser who lived in Miyun County, Beijing. She started to practise Falun Gong in the Spring of 1999 and was kindhearted and honest. She was so skillful that people often waited in line for her services. She was given unknown drugs during two months of detention, which caused the deterioration of her eyesight and memory, retardation, asthma, and oedema [swelling] throughout her body. She was no longer able to care for herself. Wang Yaqing passed away on May 27th, 2007, after enduring seven months of excruciating pain. -
Ms. Tang Xingyun from Shenyang Dies from Electric Shock Torture --Police Use Threats to Silence Her Family

Tang Xingyun, a Dafa practitioner from Shenyang City, was distributing Dafa leaflets exposing the persecution on March 10th, 2007. That evening a person reported her and she was arrested by Shashan police. At the police station, ten policemen shocked her with eight electric batons and Ms. Tang died on the spot. She was 65 years old. On March 13th, during the funeral ceremony, police said to her family:"If you tell people the truth, the whole family will be detained!" -
Ms. Wang Puhua from Chaoyang District Beijing Passed Away as a Result of Persecution
2007-07-29Dafa practitioner Wang Puhua died as a result of persecution on June 13th, 2007. Police went to harass Wang Puhua on a monthly basis before she passed away. She was close to sixty years old. In February 2006, she had been sentenced to two years in a labour camp and sent to the Beijing Reform-through-Labour Dispatch Department, where she was forced every day to watch programmes that slandered Falun Dafa, even though she had vision problems. She was also tortured with the "Sitting Board" for over 10 hours a day. In October 2006 the police arrested her for the second time. Her health condition declined quickly. She again developed pain throughout her body and began to cough up blood. After Wang Puhua returned home, she could not take care of herself anymore. -
Mr. Sha Naiyu Tortured to Death: Additional Information
2007-07-29The police found Falun Dafa materials in Mr. Sha Naiyu's home and brutally tortured him. At around 6 p.m. on July 14th, 2007, Mr. Sha Naiyu was found dead on the ground outside the police department building. Doctors discovered that his internal organs were smashed, and there was a large amount of blood inside his stomach. He was dead. The police claimed that Mr. Sha jumped from the third floor while being interrogated, but the local people did not believe that. They instead believe it was not possible for him to die from falling from that height, and that the police may have thrown his body out the window to create a false scene. The police said themselves several days earlier when harassing Falun Dafa practitioners at home, "Our upper level bosses said we need kill a batch of practitioners before the Olympics." -
Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners at Liaohe Oil Field in Liaoning Province
2007-07-27Mr. Xin Minduo, 33, was a technician at the Liaohe Oil Field, and was the backbone of the operational technology department. Because of his belief in Falun Gong, he was sentenced by the Liaohe Public Security Bureau to 3 years of forced labour in Panjin Forced Labour Camp. On August 3rd, 2005, Mr. Xin was arrested by police officers from Panjin Public Security Sub-bureau. Xinglongtai District Court in Panjin City sentenced him to 13 years in prison, and locked him up in Nanshan Prison in Jinzhou. On the night of September 1st, 2006, Mr. Xin died as a result of torture. His body was cremated by Nanshan Prison authorities on the morning of September 3rd. -
Exposing the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners in Wumaping Prison, Sichuan Province
2007-07-24The prison has solitary confinement areas, and the "Assembly Division" has big and small cells where many people have been tortured to death. It is indeed a hell and is used to "destroy the bodies, wreck the souls, and extinguish human nature." According to those inmates who have been detained in the prison for years, 50 per cent or more of those sent to the solitary confinement areas or the big and small cells were tortured to death. If one luckily came out alive, he often suffered internal injuries and died several months later. The big or small cells were designed like a water dungeon. Each is a small pit, about one metre below the ground. It has a concrete bed and frozen water. The victims were thrown on the concrete bed without any cover. If the victims cried out from the extreme pain, those in charge would add more freezing water, and the crying would immediately stop. -
Authorities in Dachang Town in the Baoshan District of Shanghai Are Persecuting Falun Gong Practitioners
2007-07-24Ms. Huang Qiaolan, 58, was arrested on November 20th, 2001, while she distributed information about the persecution of Falun Gong in residential areas. Authorities held her at the Luodian Detention Centre in the Baoshan District for one year. In order to rescue her, her family had to pay nearly 50,000 yuan, and do things such as buy meals for the officials. After this extortion, these officials sentenced her to three years of custody to be served outside of prison, from November 20th, 2001, to November 20th, 2004. Ms. Huang underwent extreme physical and spiritual suffering, and was diagnosed with lung cancer. She died on October 29th, 2004, while still serving the jail term. -
Examples of How the Police "Arrest" Falun Gong Practitioners in Wuhan City, Hubei Province
2007-07-24In March 2004, Jin Zhiping, the chief of the Qiaokou Police Precinct, led other officials to secretly arrest Falun Gong practitioners Huang Zhao and Liu Ning at their home and search it. Huang Zhao was tortured to death within 24 hours at the Qiaokou Police Precinct office. The police blocked all information about this. Even Huang's family was not informed. Liu Ning escaped from the police office and told her parents that she had been arrested. At that time, none of them were informed about Ms. Huang's death. Her father immediately went to see Jin Zhiping at the police precinct office and asked for her. Jin was astonished: "How do you know Huang is here?" Jin then deceived her father by saying that she was fine. Actually, she had passed away days earlier. After two weeks, the police could no longer cover up the case. Finally, they informed Ms. Huang's family that she had died, but lied and said that she had committed suicide. -
Elderly Practitioner Mr. Li Shuxiang Dies, Leaving Behind Many Riddles
2007-07-23Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Shuxiang, in his 70s, went out at around 5 p.m. on April 16th, 2007, to distribute leaflets exposing the persecution. He never returned home. At around 5 p.m. on April 17th, the local police asked his family to identify his body, which had been found on a farm road. Before Mr. Li's family rushed to the scene, the police had the funeral home conduct an autopsy on the body, and they told his family he died from falling from the upper level to the lower level of the road. Before cremating the body, the family changed Li's clothes and they found many coin-sized bruises on his back. His left shoulder had a palm-sized bruise. Local folks said the upper level of the road is only 3-4 metres higher than the lower level. No one had died before from falling. -
Mr. Sha Naiyu from Jilin Petroleum Field Tortured to Death
2007-07-23In July 2007, when Mr. Sha Naiyu rode his motorcycle to distribute leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong, his licence plate number was reported. Police officers from the Liangjia Town Station arrested him at his workplace on July 12th, and took him to the Da'an City Police Department on July 13th. His family went to visit him on July 14th, but they found out that he had been tortured to death. The details are yet to be investigated.
