"I used to be a doctor. In early 1994, a policeman who was carrying a gun illegally opened fire when he was arguing with someone over personal issues. The bullet hit my spinal column, and I became paralysed from the chest down. I've been confined to a wheelchair since that day 11 years ago. I started to practise Falun Gong in May 1999. Very soon after that, miracles happened. My legs stopped suffering from oedema and atrophy. In March 2004, over twenty policemen arrested me and took me to the detention centre. At the detention centre, I followed the legal procedures and requested a lawyer and an administrative re-examination of my case. Both of my requests were turned down. On March 14, 2005, the Procuratorate sent someone to my home and wanted to take me, even though I could not walk or take care of myself, to the court for sentencing." -
Mr. Tang Deliang and His Wife Wang Hongmei Sentenced to Six and a Half Years in Prison
2005-04-30Mr. Tang Deliang and Ms. Wang Hongmei are farmers from a village near Chongqing City. The couple has been repeatedly arrested, detained, tortured and sent to forced labour camps because they practise Falun Dafa. In August 2003, Mr. Tang and his wife were arrested at a Falun Gong centre producing leaflets exposing the persecution. They were sentenced to six and a half years in prison. Their 11 year old son is living in poor conditions with his grandparents. -
Three Falun Dafa Practitioners Die Following Brainwashing
2005-04-30Ms. Liu Xianglan, 61, was from Beijing. In March, 2002, Ms. Liu was arrested by police. She was detained, cursed, beaten, and tortured. She refused to give up cultivation, and the 610 Office arrested her and took her to a brainwashing class held at the police academy. She subsequently suffered symptoms of a stroke. The police did not release her, and she died. -
Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms Gao Rongrong Is Missing, Possibly in Retaliation for Exposing the Persecution She Went Through
2005-04-28Recently, a practitioner named Gao Rongrong, who suffered electric baton burns on her face was re-captured and sent to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp, when the news broke of her disfigurement. Her parents went to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp and asked to see their daughter. The Director said that although Gao Rongrong had been sent to Masanjia, she is not in Masanjia now. She did not disclose any information about Gao Rongrong. -
The "610 Office" and Guangzhou City Court Conduct an Unfair Trail of Ms. Xie Kunxiang
2005-04-26In August 2004, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Xie Kunxiang was reported to the police because she was distributing leaflets exposing the persecution. The police arrested her and took her to at detention centre. On January 24, 2005, the Haizhu District Court held Ms. Xie's trial. When the defence lawyer requested to examine the contents of the leaflets that Ms. Xie Kunxiang had handed out, instead of providing the leaflets to the court, the "610 Office" only provided a piece of paper which they said could not be made public. When she said a few words in defence of Falun Dafa the judge got angry and said, "Xie Kunxiang, it looks like if I don't sentence you to 3 years, you are not going to be compliant." -
Police Force Pregnant Falun Gong Practitioner to Undergo an Abortion
2005-04-24The authorities forcibly took me to the Family Planning Office in Guangdong Province. There, an ultrasound was done, and I was then sent to the operating table. I held onto the door and didn't want to enter the operating room. Five or six men put me up on the operating table and didn't leave until two women held me down. I was so scared! After the surgery, they took me back to the police station. The personnel there didn't want to keep me, so they sent me home. I lay down on the bed with a blank mind. These evil people deprived a two-month-old life of its opportunity to live! -

Liu Yongjing Brutally Tortured by the 610 Office and Linyi City Detention Centre
2005-04-20Liu Yongjing was arrested on June 10, 2004. He was beaten black and blue and thrown into the Linyi City Detention Centre that night, with hands and feet shackled. He held a hunger strike to protest this persecution. On about the fourth day of his hunger strike, policemen from the detention centre force-fed him by pushing a tube into his stomach. The tube was not the thin, silica gel tube required by hospitals, but a thick, rubber tube. It was very painful having such a tube forced into his body. The perpetrators then pushed the tube in, then pulled it out, and repeated this torture. This nearly resulted in Liu Yongjing's death. His cries for help were heard at the beginning then faded away. Liu Yongjing was on the verge of death after that torture. -

A Family Struggles for Justice After Shangzhi City Court Secretly Sentences Ms. Zhang Shuzhi to Prison
2005-04-16Since the Shangzhi City Court tried practitioner Ms. Zhang Shuzhi on February 4, 2005, her family have continued to ask the detention centre for information about her health and whereabouts. But to no avail. Her family have had no choice but to go to the Shangzhi City Court. The staff member Ma Yuyan told them that Zhang Shuzhi was sentenced to four years in prison. The family said, "Why didn't you inform us right away? On what did you base the four-year sentence?" Ma Yuyan said, "We did everything according to our laws. The family then went to the Court Appeals Office. Unexpectedly, Judge Zhang ferociously said, "Four years imprisonment is not severe enough for her. She should be sentenced to death." -
A German Student Urgently Appeals to Rescue her Mother who was Kidnapped in Beijing
2005-04-15On 5th April 2005, the Falun Gong Information Centre received an SOS letter from Liu Fang. She wrote in her letter that her mother, Ms. Liu Yawen was arrested on Thursday 31st March by the local police in Beijing when distributing Falun Gong Video-CDs and her whereabouts is unknown. Afterwards, the street committee Members and the local police came and searched Liu’s home together. Because Ms Liu Yawen lives by herself, Liu Fang could only find out about her mother’s welfare through friends and family, but they have been unsuccessful and couldn’t get through the information blockade. -
Practitioners Forced into Slave Labour at Shandong Women's Prison, At Least Two Have Died from Illness and Exhaustion
2005-04-15The Shandong Province Women's Prison has the official name of Shandong Province Xingye Development Corporation Ltd. The prison authorities force illegally detained Falun Gong practitioners to work from 15 to 18 hours a day, and overnight as the workload increases. Sometimes the practitioners cannot sleep or wash themselves for several days and nights. Practitioner Ms. Li Fang died from illness and exhaustion on April 27th 2002. Another practitioner approximately 58 years of age died on her way home. -
Six Falun Gong Practitioners from Beijing and Hebei Province Died under the Persecution
2005-04-15Ms. Ji Yongfang, 85 years old, was a resident of Xinchengzi Village, Xinchengzi Town in Miyun County, Beijing. Before practising Falun Gong, Ms. Ji suffered from various kinds of illnesses and was critically ill on several occasions. After she started to practise Falun Gong in 1996, all of her illnesses disappeared. In March 2000, when she was practising the Falun Gong exercises at home, personnel from the local police station forcibly took her away and persecuted her. After she was released, she had a relapse of her old illnesses. She passed away in May 2001. -

Sixteen Falun Dafa Practitioners Lost Their Lives As a Result of Persecution
2005-04-14Ms. Ni Shuqin from Liaoning Province was arrested and detained by the police several times because she refused to renounce her belief in Falun Dafa. In 2002, she was sentenced to 4 years of imprisonment. She was tortured to the point of being critically ill and extremely weak in Dabei Prison of Shenyang. On October 16, 2003, Ms. Ni was released on bail for medical treatment. She died on March 13, 2005. During those days of persecution, Liu Guofu, the head of the Hekanzi Town Police Station, extorted 1,000 yuan from Ni Shuqin. When she was in Dabei Prison, Ms. Ni's family members had been illegally fined over 10,000 yuan by the prison.
