  • Persecution of Falun Gong Continues in Inner Mongolia

    An engineer, a teacher, and two other Falun Gong practitioners were sentenced by the Baotou City Court at a show trial in Inner Mongolia on October 24th. The terms ranged from four to seven years. The four practitioners had already been detained for one and a half years prior to the sentencing. Chen Jianyong described the brutality of his incarceration in 2011: “I have been surviving unbearable tortures and tests of life and death."
  • Details Revealed: Brainwashing Centre Associated with September Arrests of Over 30

    Over 30 Falun Gong practitioners were arrested on September 2nd in Tonghua, Jilin Province. Twenty were sent to brainwashing sessions arranged by various local 610 Offices (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). The arrests and brainwashing centre detentions are consistent with the “final battle” plan of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), as reported by the Epoch Times in November 2013. A collection of 56 circulars from official agencies across China revealed that a renewed, nation-wide campaign to eliminate Falun Gong is underway.
  • Guizhou Woman Dies after 10 Years of Suffering, Family Suspects Forced Drug Administration in Labour Camp

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Jun, 42, died on September 18th, 2014, after 10 years of suffering from mental and physical disabilities. Family and friends suspected that she was fed or injected with drugs while being held at the Guizhou Province Women's Forced Labour Camp. Her lips, ears, and fingers turned black upon her death. Ms. Zhang was arrested in 2000, for sending appeal letters to the local government calling for justice for Falun Gong.
  • Paralysed from Torture in Prison, Older Jiamusi Woman Dies

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Qiu Yuxia, 59. was paralysed by the time she was released from Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison in July 2011. In prison, she was once tied to bed for more than two weeks, after which she developed high blood pressure, her body felt numb, and she had difficulty walking. She was forced to watch videos slandering Falun Gong. For the next two and a half years, she was bedridden and experienced agonising pain. She passed away on December 9th, 2013.
  • Arrests Increase by 42% in First Nine Months of 2014 Compared to 2013

    As the persecution of Falun Gong in China continues unabated in its 15th year, confirmed arrests during the first nine months of 2014 increased by 42% compared to the same period in 2013. Between January and September 2014, 61 Falun Gong practitioners were tortured to death, 643 were tried, 19 were sentenced to more than 8 years in prison, 663 were taken to brainwashing centres, and 4,925 were arrested.

    When Ms. Wang Jianhui's sister was finally allowed to visit her in August 2014, she was surprised by what she saw: Ms. Wang—once young, healthy, and full of life—now looked like a frail old woman who had difficulty breathing and could hardly walk. “I was put in solitary confinement for refusing to do forced labour,” recalled Ms. Wang. An inmate kicked Ms. Wang repeatedly, while yelling, “If we kill you, it's within the death limit, and we're not responsible.”

    “Steaming” in this article refers to a torture method used by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), where the victim is locked in a sealed off, hot room for long periods of time. “Roasting” refers to a torture method where the victim's body is exposed to fire, various heat sources, or the scorching sun for extended periods of time. One practitioner reported: “A 2,000-watt light bulb was placed about a foot away from my face. After a while, I was sweating profusely. The pain was unbearable.”
  • Family of Executed Prisoner Exposes Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Organ Harvesting Crime

    “The Chinese Communist Party is carrying out savage deeds. Our son is an executed prisoner, and all of his internal organs were removed. Yet we were asked to pay an exorbitant price for his body,” said the family of the executed prisoner. The man's family told how their executed family member had his organs harvested in 2001, at the Wafangdian Detention Centre in Liaoning Province.
  • Older Ms. Liu Yuxian Died Just Months after Release from a Detention Centre

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Yuxian from Jilin City, Jilin Province recently passed away in September 2014, after long term persecution. She was 56 years old. Ms. Liu was arrested again in April 2014 after she was reported for talking to people about Falun Gong and the persecution and taken to Jilin City Detention Centre. After the persecution began on July 20th, 1999, Ms. Liu was repeatedly arrested and detained.
  • 13 Arrested for Demanding a Falun Gong Practitioner's Release

    Thirteen people were arrested outside a brainwashing centre for asking for the release of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ye Shumao on October 18th, 2014, two days after Mr. Ye was arrested. Mr. Ye was taken to the Shangying Brainwashing Centre. Of the 12 who remain in custody, several received a 15-day detention notice.
  • Arms Disabled after Enduring Handcuffing Torture for Three Hours

    A Falun Gong practitioner in her fifties was arrested in 2000, in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. When Li Xiejiang from the Jinzhou 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) interrogated her, he handcuffed her arms behind her back for three hours, in a way that left her permanently disabled.

    On June 16th, 2005, our sister Gao Rongrong was persecuted to death. Rongrong was brave. We don't know what happened to her in her last three months, except that she had been kept alone.     A 57-year-old Falun Gong practitioner, Mr. Zhang Wenlong, was sentenced to a three-year term and sent directly to prison 15 days after his arrest on February 18th, 2014. When his family went to see him on October 13th, 2014, he was incoherent and didn't recognise them. The “crime” he was sentenced for was distributing literature that exposed the persecution of Falun Gong.
  • College Professor Locked in Solitary Confinement for Seven Days, Subjected to Freezing and Starvation

    Guards at Daqing Prison recently put Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Baosheng into a solitary confinement cell for seven days and tortured him various ways. Mr. Zhang, 52, is a former professor at Heilongjiang College of Construction. He was sentenced to five years in prison in 2012 for singing a Falun Gong related song at a wedding. He has been detained in Daqing Prison since October 2012.
