Ms. Pan Jingxian Persecuted to Disability in a Forced Labour Camp

In November 2006, Ms. Pan Jingxian was sentenced to a forced labour camp because she wouldn't give up her belief in Falun Gong. In Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City, the guards savagely beat and abused her. Ms. Pan was persecuted to the point of having muscular atrophy in the forced labour camp. Three years after she was released, her legs still haven't fully recovered. She has trouble walking and she often falls down. -
Account of the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioner Tan Chengqiang Before His Death
2010-08-15Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Tan Chengqiang gave up smoking, drinking, gambling, and other bad habits through the Falun Gong practice. In 1999 Mr. Tan went to Beijing to appeal for justice for the practice. He was arrested and held in the Shuangcheng Detention Centre, where he was tortured and beaten by guards and inmates. Guards forced practitioners to work in a quarry, collecting stones to fill up cargo trains. The labour was intense and dangerous, since there was a high risk of being injured by the stones rolling down the hill. The guards shouted: "As long as you are breathing, you have to work! Your family is responsible for your medical bills if you are injured!" Mr. Tan died as a result of the persecution on July 19th, 2003. -
Ms. Wu Suqiong and Her Daughter Again Suffer Persecution
2010-08-15Ms. Wu Suqiong is 43 years old. All three members of her family practised Falun Gong before the nationwide persecution started. After July 1999, the entire family endured persecution multiple times. They were arrested, had their home ransacked, and were detained in a brainwashing facility, detention centres, and labour camps. After rounds of harassment, Ms. Wu's husband Huang Wenqiang bent under the pressure of brainwashing, turned against Falun Gong, and began to assist the 610 Office. Currently, he wants to divorce Ms. Wu. Ms. Wu's daughter Huang Juan was subjected to repeated intimidation at a young age, which caused her to become mentally unstable. -
Persecution of Ms. Yang Chunyuan in Chongqing Women's Forced Labour Camp
2010-08-15Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Chunyuan, 40, was arrested at her home by members of the Chinese Communist Party, and is now being held at Chongqing Women's Forced Labour Camp. As a result of the severe torture she has suffered, she cannot eat, she has difficulty in standing up and her lungs are badly damaged. She has made many requests for medical parole, but her requests have been ignored. -
Elderly Ms. Song Yaqin Dies as a Result of Persecution
2010-08-14Seventy-seven-year-old Ms. Song Yaqin from Jilin City, Jilin Province, began practising Falun Gong in 1998. She gained spiritual and physical benefits from the practice, including recovery from arthritis. She then suffered a decade-long persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) for her belief since 1999, leading to her death on July 18th, 2010. -
The Chinese Regime Attempts to Coerce Innocent Citizens Into Recanting their Beliefs
2010-08-14During July Qu Changbo, the director of village security, tried to force Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Hongyan to write a guarantee statement promising to stop practising Falun Gong. Two days later, other officials broke into Ms. Zhang's home and once again tried to force her to sign the statement. They said, "If you don't sign, we'll make your husband's work supervisor fire him, and he'll be re-hired only after you have signed the guarantee statement. We'll also tell the students at your child's school to swear at and abuse your children, so they will be too embarrassed to go to school." -
Ms. Chang Shuxia, 52, Imprisoned Three Times at the Heizuizi Women's Forced Labour Camp in Jilin Province
2010-08-14Ms. Chang Shuxia, 52, has been imprisoned three times because she practises Falun Gong. She recounts her experience in a labour camp: "Guards pushed me to the ground and handcuffed my hands behind my back, with one hand pulled over my shoulder to meet the other hand twisted up from the back. A tall and sturdy man then stomped on the handcuffs with his leather shoes. They also shocked me with three electric batons simultaneously. The handcuffs cut deep into my flesh, and I was bleeding badly. My hands became very swollen. Even after I returned home the scars were still visible on my hands. I couldn't do any physical work for more than a year." -
Model Worker Ms. He Guihong Persecuted by Domestic Security Division of Xianning City in Hubei Province
2010-08-14On July 1st, 2010, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. He Guihong was arrested by Xianning City 610 Office [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong] personnel and police officers from the Xianning City Domestic Security Division when she was working at the "1+8" retail chain store in the Xian'an District. On July 2nd, Jiayu County 610 Office personnel and Domestic Security Division personnel sent her to the Banqiao Village Brainwashing Centre of Wuhan City. She was proclaimed a "model worker" for the whole city and county many times. -
Computer Engineer Persecuted to Death in Guizhou Province
2010-08-13Falun Gong practitioner Liu Bo had liver disease for over twenty years, but completely recovered after becoming a Falun Gong practitioner. In 2002, Liu Bo was arrested and taken to the police station where he was beaten by several officers. His legs were shackled, then spread wide onto a metal door for over ten hours. He was taken to the local detention centre the next morning, where he was beaten and terrorised. Mr. Liu was persecuted for three years in the Zhongba Forced Labour Camp. Because of the long duration and severity of the persecution, his mental and physical condition had seriously deteriorated, and Liu Bo passed away on April 14th, 2010. -
Ms. Chen Zhilian and Her Daughter Repeatedly Imprisoned and Tortured
2010-08-13Ms. Chen Zhilian and her daughter have been repeatedly arrested, detained and viciously beaten since July 1999, because they practise Falun Gong. In 2003, Ms. Chen was sentenced to six years imprisonment by officials from Renshou County Court, and her daughter was sentenced to three years imprisonment. Guards in Renshou County Detention Centre pinched Ms. Chen's daughter, made her stand facing the wall, forbade her from sleeping, forced her to take medication, hit her with clubs, pulled her hair, and threw her against the wall. She was also tied to a "death bed" for four days. -
Older Practitioner Ms. Cai Huilian Persecuted for Many Years
2010-08-13Through practising Falun Gong, Ms. Cai Huilian recovered from recurrent inflammation that had bothered her since childhood. However, she has been subjected to severe persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) due to her belief in Falun Gong over the past 11 years. She has been repeatedly arrested, detained and tortured. Her home was ransacked many times, and her Falun Gong books and farmland were confiscated. -
Eyewitness: Shanxi Province Women's Prison a Processing Facility for Counterfeit Drugs
2010-08-13In 2007, the Shanxi Province Women's Prison was rated as a "Civilised Prison," but based on what I saw there, I think it would be more appropriate to call it a "processing site for counterfeit drugs." I was detained in the prison's processing facility. The workshop facility processes almost everything, from food and clothing, to items used on a daily basis. Two rooms on the second floor were used to package many different kinds of fake drugs. The majority of the drugs processed were used to treat heart disease and high blood pressure. -
"Small Stool" Torture Method Used on Practitioners in Yunnan Province Second Women's Prison
2010-08-12Guards in Yunnan Province Second Women's Prison force Falun Gong practitioners to sit on a small wooden stool that is one square foot in size from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. This is a cruel torture that even healthy young prisoners cannot endure, let alone 60- to 70-year-old women. If a practitioner refuses to give up her faith, she is forced to sit like this for a long time, even until her term ended. Sometimes, the buttocks fester, and some practitioners' trousers rot, their blood pressure rises, and their limbs or even their whole body swells due to this torture. -
Crimes Committed in Ward 8 of Liaoning Province Women's Prison
2010-08-12Guards in Ward 8 urge criminals to abuse and torture practitioners, mainly in the wash room, toilet, and reading room. The torture methods for the most part involve severe beatings, pouring cold water on practitioners' bodies, hanging practitioners up and beating them, stomping on them on the ground, tying the practitioners up and forcing them under a bed in a painful, folded over position, sleep deprivation, and even gagging the practitioners with underwear. The tortures don't stop until the practitioners write a "reform" [forcibly renounce Falun Gong] statement. -
Mudanjiang City Prison Guards Torture High School Teacher Mr. Gong Chengge and Extort Money from His Family
2010-08-12Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Gong Chengge is a former maths teacher. In 2008, he was sentenced to three and a half years years in prison and sent to Mudanjiang Prison. Mr. Gong was tortured with electric batons. Mr. Gong was forced to perform slave labour in prison. He had to stick eyelashes onto toy dolls. Due to his very severe short sightedness, he could not do many dolls in one day and only a few were acceptable. Ward head Xie Xiaofeng and team leader He Guanghai used convicts to extort funds from Mr Gong. When that failed, they ordered prisoners Sun Jinghua and Li Yunye to viciously beat him. Mr Gong's teeth fell out as a result of the beatings. Guards threatened his family members that if they did not give them bribes, the guards would increase Mr. Gong's workload. Consequently, Mr. Gong's parents gave Xie Xiaofeng 1000 yuan.
