  • Additional Information on the Arrest of Ms. Geng Caixia from Luan County, Hebei Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Geng Caixia was reported to the police when she went to the Xiaomazhuang area to tell people the facts about Falun Gong on July 7th, 2010. Police arrested her and took her to the police station for interrogation. Police demanded information about her son and her mother. Ms. Geng didn’t tell them anything. Then one officer slapped her face three times and grabbed her hair, trying to lift her. Two other officers also got involved. One used his legs to immobilise Ms. Geng’s head while the other one used rope and wrapped it around her head, binding it so tightly that she had difficulty breathing.
  • Hunan Practitioner Ms. Peng Donglian Dies at Li County Detention Centre

    Police arrested Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Peng Donglian, 58, at her home without a warrant on November 9th and took her to Li County Detention Centre. She died at the Li County Detention Centre just eleven days after her arrest. Her family rushed to the detention centre and saw her body. There were blue and purple scars on the soles of her feet. Her body was warm when they touched her. Police told them that she died due to a heart attack. However, she did not have any history of heart disease and she was in good health when she was arrested. According to an insider, Ms. Peng was tortured during her detention. Autopsy results showed that her heart was ruptured, and lots of blood filled her abdominal cavity.
  • Practitioner Liu Yuanbo in Critical Condition at Huaihua City Brainwashing Centre, Hunan Province

    On November 3rd, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Yuanbo was arrested and put in Huaihua Brainwashing Centre. There they told Mr. Liu to write and sign a guarantee statement to stop practising Falun Gong. Mr. Liu went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. After ten days, Mr. Liu's weight dropped from 67kg (150 pounds) to 40kg (88 pounds). He is now in critical condition. After more than ten days, Mr. Liu's family went to the brainwashing centre and asked for Mr. Liu to be released, but were denied.
  • Daughter Sentenced to Forced Labour, Mother Beaten

    Ms. Cai Guijiao, mother of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Chen Min, was beaten by the police from the Domestic Security Division of the Yueyang City Junshan Police Department when she appealed for her daughter's innocence. Her face and legs were covered with bruises. Ms. Chen was arrested by police on October 11th. Ms. Chen was then sentenced to three years of forced labour. Ms. Chen's family received some documents stating her “illegal” activities but they were all false information.
  • Mr. Li Wolong Arrested for Exposing the Crimes Against Him in Jinshi Prison

    Mr. Li Wolong was released from Jinshi Prison on July 4th, 2010, after being detained there for three years. On August 26th, he was arrested again for exposing the crimes committed against him to the international community. The Procurator of Pingjiang County held a trial on November 30th to try to send him back to prison. From May 2009 to June 2010, Mr. Li was tortured in many ways. He was slapped in the face, kicked, shocked with electric batons, force-fed human excrement, and had cold water thrown over him during the winter. He was punched and beaten for not wearing the prison uniform or following orders. He was also punished for practising the Falun Gong exercises. Inmates once punched him continually for a long period of time to cause internal injuries.
  • National Model Worker Ms. Zhu Ying from Xinxiang City, Henan Province Persecuted to Death

    Ms. Zhu Ying was a Falun Gong practitioner in Xinxiang City, Henan Province. She was also a former member of the National People's Congress and a national model worker. On September 27th, police officer Wei Guanglei deceived her out of her home, arrested her, and took her to a detention centre. Ms. Zhu Ying was then persecuted to death at 4 a.m. on November 30th. To cover up the evidence of how she was killed her body was cremated in Xinxiang City Crematorium on December 2nd.
  • Ms. Xu Hui Tortured Until She Became Disabled

    Ms. Xu Hui, 60 years old, was retired from the Jiutai Pharmaceutical Company in Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. She was sentenced to two years and tortured at the infamous Masanjia Forced Labour Camp, resulting in physical injuries. In November 2007, Ms. Xu was disabled after being hung up and stretched for extended periods of time. She no longer had use of her hands or arms. The flesh on her wrists was torn from the handcuffs and she was unable to sit up straight. She had become an invalid. Ms. Xu was released on August 3rd, 2009, after she had become disabled. She was diagnosed with peripheral nerve damage of the arms. Her blood pressure, blood vessels and excretory organs were also severely damaged.
  • Lawyers Accuse Liaoning Court of Breaking the Law

    On November 23rd in Fengcheng, Liaoning Province, a court session was held to sentence four Falun Gong practitioners: Liang Yuncheng, Qu Shanlin, Wu Juan and Sun Zhongqin. Four lawyers came from Beijing and defended them for four hours. They pointed out that according to the laws related to freedom of speech and freedom of belief detailed in the Chinese Constitution, practising and promoting Falun Gong are completely legal. Therefore, the Falun Gong practitioners had not broken any laws, and by bringing them to court and punishing them, the judicial system was breaching the Constitution.
  • Officers from the Liucheng Town Police Station Arrest Ms. Li Guozhi Again

    on December 6th, nine police officers went to the home of Ms. Li Guozhi in Yaoeryingzi Village. Two of them climbed over the wall and entered her yard while the others stayed outside. After seeing that Ms. Li was at home, they told the others to come in. They pushed the door open and arrested Ms. Li Guozhi. She asked officer Ding how they could arrest her without a warrant. Ding said no legal procedures needed to be followed to arrest a Falun Gong practitioner. Previously, Ms. Li was arrested and taken to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp for a one-year term.
  • Liaoning Women's Prison Makes Huge Profits by Using High-Intensity Forced Labour

    In 2002, I was sentenced to 3 years of prison because of my belief. I was imprisoned at Liaoning Province Women's Prison for three years. There were over 3,000 people imprisoned there, including innocent Falun Gong practitioners. I was assigned to a machine-sewing assembly group. We produced uniforms, sheets, bedspreads, pillowcases, curtains, all kinds of clothes (including jeans, sleepwear, shirts, children's clothes, skirts, and so on), pillows, pads, slipcovers, piano covers, table covers, television covers, and covers for drinking water dispensers. Sometimes we also hand-sewed gloves, sweaters, toys and more. Detainees in the prison are subjected to extended hours of forced labour, usually 15 hours per day. Sometimes people are so tired that they faint, feel sick, or vomit.
  • Imprisoned Three Times, Older Practitioner Ms. Huang Naiwei Is Now Being Persecuted in a Brainwashing Centre

    Practitioner Huang Naiwei, 62, was sent to forced labour camps three times. The last time, she was supposed to be released on September 16th. However, the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) of Luwan District refused to free her and instead transferred her to a brainwashing centre because the government was running the 2010 World Expo. She has been held in the brainwashing centre since then.
  • Mr. Yuan Fanghua, 59, Arrested and Detained

    On the evening of August 3rd, 2010, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yuan Fanghua was attacked by several plainclothes police officers at his home. The police had turned the electricity off to his home, and attacked Mr. Yuan when he opened the front door to check what had happened. They dragged him into a car, and took him to a brainwashing centre, which is under the control of the Hunan 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). The practitioners held there were surrounded by four or five agents, who took turns shouting at them for the whole day. They constantly slandered Falun Gong and its founder, and threatened the practitioners with forced labour or prison if they did not cooperate and renounce their belief
  • Older Practitioner Ms. Gongbi Wu from Tongliang County, Chongqing City Imprisoned for Seven Months

    Four police officers from Chongqing City forced their way into the home of Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wu Gongbi on April 22nd, 2010. They ransacked the place and took Ms. Wu to Tongliang Detention Centre. She was put on trial on September 22nd, and is currently detained by the local 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong). When the persecution started in July 1999, Ms. Wu went to Beijing to appeal to the central government. She was sentenced to one year of forced labour in 2001.
  • Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Cao Yixiang, 56, Brutally Tortured at the No. 2 Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shandong Province

    Ms. Cao Yixiang is 56 years old and her health greatly improved through the practice of Falun Gong. To help people see through the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) lies, she distributed Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution. Malicious people fabricated stories about her and reported her. On October 17th, 2008, she was sentenced to one year in Shandong Province No. 2 Women's Forced Labour Camp. She suffered unimaginable torture. She explains, "I asked to go to the toilet. They refused to let me go. Eventually I couldn't hold it any longer and I had to urinate in my trousers. Inmates ran up to me and hit me so hard that I fell down. They kicked me and stomped all over me. After beating me, one pulled my feet and the other pulled my arms to drag me around and throw me on the floor. They used my body to mop the floor."
  • Mr. Long Tingfan's Family Torn Apart by the Persecution

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Long Tingfan, about 50 years old, and his wife, Zhou Ping, is in her 40s. They were seized and sent to forced labour camps because they practise Falun Gong. The couple returned home from Shayang Forced Labour Camp in Hubei Province in 2001. The wife was again sentenced to five years at the end of November 2001 for telling people, "Falun Gong is good!" She was sent to the Wuhan Women's Prison and fired from her company. Ms. Zhou was nearly paralysed as a result of being tortured in Wuhan Women's Prison. Currently, they are displaced from their home due to the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
