Brief Overview of the Recent Persecution of Practitioners in Ningde City, Fujian Province

Ms. Huang Cuijing was in a detention centre for two weeks and then subjected to two years of forced labour in 2000. She was held for eight months in a detention centre beginning September 15th, 2004, before she was released on bail. Mr. Chen Cijin, 65 years old, was sentenced to five years of imprisonment. Ms. Chen Shaidan, 70, was subjected to forced labour twice, totalling two years. -
Ms. Zhao Fengxia from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province, Relentlessly Persecuted
2011-01-05Ms. Zhao Fengxia, 57, was arrested when she went to Beijing to appeal against the persecution of Falun Gong. She was detained at the Wanjia Forced Labour Camp and told that if she did not give up Falun Gong, her children would not be allowed to go to college. After the guards realised they couldn’t break Ms. Zhao’s will, they started torturing her. They forced her to sit on a bench from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. every day. They ordered her to ask permission before walking anywhere and said that, while she was walking, she had to lower her head. Ms. Zhao wouldn't follow their demands and was beaten until she was unconscious. -
Ms. Yang Jie Tortured Brutally for Ten Years (Part 2)
2011-01-04Upon my arrival at the Ningxia Women's Forced Labour Camp, I went on a hunger strike to protest my detention. Hu Linxia, the division's deputy head, called in Liu Haiyan and Zhang Hongyan, two drug offenders, and ordered them to hold me down on the bed and insert a rubber tube thicker than a chopstick through my nose into my stomach. During the barbaric force-feeding, Hu Linxia and the inmates constantly insulted me with dirty words. The force-feeding was carried out twice a day. The drug offenders were most cruel. -
Daughter Detained, Mother Dies from Grief
2011-01-04A funeral was held for an elderly woman in Qingshui, north of Shenyang, in the winter cold. Villagers who knew her all said that she was such an innocent person and that if her daughter hadn't been arrested, she wouldn't have passed away. Residents of Qingshui all knew that Ms. Liu had a good daughter, Liu Sulan. However, because Liu Sulan practised Falun Gong she was arrested on September 29th. On December 14th, upon hearing that Liu Sulan was to be sentenced, her mother passed away without seeing her daughter. Liu Sulan did not know of her mother's death. -
Heartless Practices Carried Out at Xindian Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shanxi Province During 2010
2011-01-04Xindian Women's Forced Labour Camp in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, is a horrific place, where the communist regime persecutes practitioners. Many of the vicious thugs and the brutal tortures they have subjected practitioners to have been exposed on the Internet. Ms. Wang Xinrong, 68, is a practitioner from Beijing. After being forced to sit on a small stool for a long time, she became very weak. One day after standing up, she immediately fell down. Someone helped her stand up and she vomited blood. Nevertheless, the next day the guards continued to torture her. -
Ms. Zhou Xiaoyan from the Hexi District, Tianjin City, Detained Multiple Times
2011-01-04Ms. Zhou Xiaoyan was arrested by local police on December 29th, 2009, and she has been detained at the Hexi District Detention Centre and Hedong District Detention Centre for more than a year. In October 2010, Ms. Zhou was sentenced to three years of imprisonment by Hedong Court. She appealed the sentence. In November, Tianjin No. 2 Intermediate Court held a second trial. Both trials were held secretly, without informing Ms. Zhou's family members. Previously, Ms. Zhou was arrested and detained in 2008. -
Ms. Zhao Shuyun from Inner Mongolia Imprisoned for Eight Years Because of Her Belief
2011-01-03Fifty-six year old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhao Shuyun worked in the finance industry in Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia. In the past eleven years, she has been held six times at detention centres, brainwashing centres, and police stations for a total of eight months, and she has been detained at forced labour camps three times for a total of eight years. -
Ms. Yang Jie Tortured Brutally for Ten Years (Part 1)
2011-01-03Ms. Yang Jie, 40, from Zhongwei City, Ningxia Autonomous Region, was employed at a life insurance company in Zhongwei. She began practising Falun Gong in 1997. Since the onset of the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Ms. Yang was imprisoned in the Ningxia Women's Forced Labour Camp and the Ningxia Women's Prison more often than not. She was tortured and fired for practising Falun Gong twice. To protest the persecution in the detention centre Ms. Yang went on a hunger strike and guards held her down on a bed and brutally force-fed her. -
Su Nan, Former Second Artillery Corps Official, Subjected to Extreme Brutality
2011-01-03Ms. Su Nan and her husband Mr. Zheng Xujun, Ph.D have been suffering continuous and ruthless persecution because they practise Falun Gong. Ms. Su Nan was sentenced to a three-year prison term. She consequently suffered from skeletal deformation and crooked right hand fingers, causing her to be unable to grip anything with her hands or straighten her fingers. She was incarcerated at the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Shenyang for over two and a half years, resulting in her becoming physically very weak. Just before her term ended, it was extended for another ten days. -
Ms. Song Guifen from Huadian City Is Arrested Again
2011-01-03Ms. Song Guifen started practising Falun Gong in 1996. She has been frequently arrested since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong in 1999. She went to Beijing to appeal in July 1999. She was arrested and held at the Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp in Changchun City, for one year. In 2001, police arrested her again. Police handcuffed her to a wall, punched and kicked her, and smashed her head against the wall. She was also shocked with electric batons, and a plastic bag was put over her head to suffocate her. Ms. Song was later taken to the Huadian Detention Centre, and was then sentenced to two years in Heizuizi Forced Labour Camp. Her eyesight deteriorated significantly and her vision became blurred. -
Older Practitioner Ms. Liu Guixiang from No. 858 Farm in Heilongjiang Province Persecuted to Death
2011-01-02Ms. Liu Guixiang, a 64 year old Falun Gong practitioner, was arrested on September 10th, 2010 at No. 858 Farm. Eighty days after she was held at the Detention Centre of the Land Reclamation and Cultivation Mudanjiang Police Department, she died on November 28th as a result of persecution. She previously weighed over 170 lbs and was very healthy. Within less than three months, when she was persecuted to death, her weight had decreased by 40 lbs. On November 29th, her husband, her younger brother and her son saw her body at the mortuary. She had a swollen abdomen, and was partially naked. Her whole body was swollen and her face was gaunt. Her trousers were wet with urine. She had only one shoe on and the other one was left in the coffin. Her body was distorted. At that time, they saw a layer of purple spots on her shoulders. -
After Being in Prison for Nine Years, Ms. Fu Yan Is Confined in a Small Cell Again
2011-01-02Because Ms. Fu Yan refused to give up her belief in Falun Gong, she was sentenced to 13 years in prison. In May 2003, she was sent to team six, area nine of Liaoning Province Women's Prison. Currently she is again in solitary confinement in a small cell. It has now been nine years since Ms. Fu's arrest. She has suffered from brutal torture in Liaoning Women's Prison. Upon her arrival, she was shocked with electric batons because she would not admit to being guilty. Later she was forced to do hard labour. She used to be very healthy, but now suffers from heart disease and high blood pressure. She has suffered from psoriasis several times, and it spread all over her body. There have been times where she has vomited blood, becoming extremely weak. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Yang Guifang and Daughter from Gucheng County, Hebei Province Both Sentenced to Labour Camp
2011-01-02Falun Gong practitioner Yang Guifang and her family live in Beijing. They make their living as labourers. From January 23rd-25th, 2008, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) personnel in Beijing suddenly arrested over 40 practitioners. Yang Guifang and her oldest daughter Liu Yan were arrested by police from Beijing's Dongcheng District Public Security Bureau. They were held for two months in Beijing and were sentenced to a labour camp. Yang was sentenced to two and a half years, and her daughter was sentenced to two years. They were then transferred to the Hohhot Women's Labour Camp in Inner Mongolia. -
Ms. Xu Suxia Tortured in Gaoyang Labour Camp in Hebei Province for Years
2011-01-02Ms. Xu Suxia is a Falun Gong practitioner from Chengde City Hebei province. She began practising Falun Gong in 1998. Because of refusing to renounce her belief, she was detained at Gaoyang labour camp from 2000 to 2003 and brutally tortured. Because Ms. Xu shouted, "Falun Gong is good!", the head immediately came over and covered her mouth. Li Yu and other guards took her back to the dark isolation cell. They beat, kicked and shocked her with electric batons. Guard Zhang (female) kicked her face with her leather shoes. They tortured her until midnight. Ms. Xu Suxia was so weak that she could not walk. Her face was swollen. -
Ms. Hu Miaomiao's Family Finally Allowed to Visit Her in Hebei Province Women's Forced Labour Camp
2011-01-01Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hu Miaomiao was arrested by a group of police officers on the morning of June 15th, 2010, and her home was ransacked. They secretly sent her to Hebei Province Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shijiazhuang City to serve a one-year term on June 26th, and did not inform her family. Guards tortured Ms. Hu severely. They forced her to stand still for long periods of time. They beat her and repeatedly thrust a broom handle into her genital area. Three months after the assault, she still could not walk or stand up straight.
