  • Ms. Sun Li from Liaoning Province Imprisoned, Her Whereabouts Unknown

    After police arrested Ms. Sun Li and her husband Mr. Bi Shijun, Ms. Sun was sentenced to a five-year prison term. After she was taken to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison, she went missing. Her husband was sentenced to seven years in Dalian Prison. There were five other practitioners who received sentences at the same time. The family still does not know Ms. Sun's current whereabouts.
  • Fujin Villagers Stand Up For Family of Falun Gong Practitioners

    Mr. Yuan Yulong, a villager from Zhongsheng Village, Heilongjiang Province, his son Mr. Yuan Shoujiang, and his daughter-in-law Ms. Gong Jinfen were taken away by police on December 21st because they practise Falun Gong. Subsequently, villagers from Zhongsheng Village submitted a joint letter to which more than 95 per cent of the residents signed their names. The letter vouches that the three members of Mr. Yuan's family are good people and didn't do anything illegal. They requested the three to be released.
  • Ms. Hu Miaomiao Still Mistreated After Suffering Sexual Abuse

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hu Miaomiao was detained at the First Section of Hebei Province Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shijiazhuang City. Under orders from Wang Weiwei, the section chief, several inmates severely tortured her. They used extremely base methods including using broom handles and their fingers to sexually abuse her. It caused tremendous damage to her both physically and psychologically. Three months have passed, but Ms. Hu still hasn't recovered from the trauma. She was taken back to the section after three months of solitary confinement and is being mistreated by the inmates under orders from the guards.
  • Mr. Tang Xiancheng Repeatedly Tortured at Changlingzi Forced Labour Camp in 2002 and 2003

    Mr. Tang Xiancheng was taken to Changlingzi Forced Labour Camp in August 2002 for practising Falun Gong. To force practitioners to renounce their belief in writing, police beat them, shocked them with electric batons, and put water over them before shocking them with multiple electric batons. Heart rending cries where heard at all hours. Some were held in solitary confinement cells or tied to an iron chair. Mr. Tang was forced to squat for a long time and not allowed to sleep until midnight, after which he had to squat again starting around 5:00 am. Prisoners would beat him if he moved.
  • 65-Year-Old Ms. Fu Shaozhen Imprisoned for Three Years

    Ms. Fu Shaozhen, an elderly Falun Gong practitioner, was released from prison on December 25th, after three years of detention. She was arrested in 2007 because she was handing out Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution to people at a supermarket. Because she refused to give up her belief in Falun Gong, she was deprived of sleep—being allowed to sleep only from 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. daily—and was verbally abused in the prison. While she had only a few white hairs at the start of her detention, all of her hair was white upon her release. Her back was also bent 90 degrees, and she had to be carried home by her youngest daughter.
  • I Witnessed the Torture Deaths of Two Practitioners in Custody

    Mr. Wang Wenju began practising Falun Gong in 2004. He witnessed the healing power of Falun Gong when his wife's diabetes disappeared as a result of the practice. He bravely spoke the truth about the persecution to his students. He was reported and arrested on October 26th, 2004. He was then sentenced to three years in prison. He was taken to Shenyang City around March 20th, 2005, then was transferred to Fushen City Nanhuayuan Prison where he was brutally force-fed when he was on hunger strike and tortured to death on April 27th, 2005, at only 38 years old
  • Several Falun Gong Practitioners from Tongren City, Guizhou Province Arrested and Persecuted

    In early November 2010, personnel from the 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong) arrested about 30 practitioners. They held a brainwashing session in the nursing home for the elderly in Dalong Town to persecute these practitioners. Practitioner Jiang Qirong had a warrant issued for his arrest, and was forced to leave his home in order to avoid persecution. He was arrested however on November 16th in Hunan Province. Mr. Jiang is currently detained at the Tongren Detention Centre. Because he couldn't endure the torture, he told police information about other practitioners in Tongren, who were then subsequently monitored and arrested by police.
  • Elderly Practitioner Ms. Li Yingju, from Keshan Farm in Heilongjiang Province, Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Yingju, 68, was arrested at home by police on May 14th, 2010, and given a five-year prison term. We learned that she will be sent to Tailai Prison within three days. The police are currently monitoring her home around the clock, cutting off her contact with the outside world. A police vehicle is blocking the door to her house, and police officers are taking turns monitoring her.
  • Entrepreneur Wang Qingzhong Arrested in Linyi, Shandong Province

    Mr. Wang Qingzhong, 54, a famous entrepreneur from Linyi City, Shandong Province, was a professor in the Department of Physics in Linyi Normal University, and is now the chairman of Xintianli Mechanical Ltd. in Linyi. Mr. Wang regained good physical health and spiritual well-being through Falun Gong practice. However, he was persecuted several times because of his belief. Mr. Wang was arrested for the third time on September 26th, 2010. The arrest was ratified recently and Mr. Wang's case will go though legal procedures.
  • Recognised Public Servant Feng Zhongliang Persecuted to Near Death

    Feng Zhongliang was an architectural design management official in the Panzhihua Construction Department. He was in good health after practising Falun Gong, and a recognised public servant. However, Mr. Feng was persecuted for four years because he practised Falun Gong. He couldn’t walk after being released from prison on April 28th, 2009. He suffered internal organ failure, and had difficulty breathing. He had no money or property left, and the human resources department of his city didn’t provide him with any funds since he had been arrested and imprisoned.
  • Engineer Mr. Lin Yongxu Tortured with the “Stretching Bed” at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp

    On December 7th, in the process of conducting the Education Division of the Provincial Forced Labour Bureau's annual exam, officials at Masanjia Forced Labour Camp in Liaoning Province printed and distributed examination papers containing questions that slandered Falun Gong. Following the principles of Falun Gong, practitioner Lin Yongxu told the truth about the persecution and answered the questions according to what he knows to be correct. This enraged Yu Jiang, head of the No. 3 Division. Around 7:00 p.m. Mr. Lin was summoned to a special room by Yu Jiang. He was tortured on the “stretching bed” for almost two hours. After that, Mr. Lin was continuously shocked with electric batons on his shoulders and inner thighs by several people until 3:00 a.m. the next morning.
  • Older Practitioner Ms. Li Shirong Spent Seven Years in Prison

    In 2003, Ms. Li Shirong, 60, was arrested and detained at Huaihua No. 2 Detention Centre because she practises Falun Gong and believes in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She was later sentenced by Hecheng District Court at Huaihua, and suffered for seven years at Hunan Women's Prison.While she was imprisoned, Ms. Li was monitored by criminal inmates around the clock. She was not allowed to close the door even when she went to the toilet or took a shower. She stayed in a room that was less than 2 square metres per person, and she ate, lived and did forced labour there. In October 2009, Ms. Li went home. It was time for her to receive her pension. However, because she is a Falun Gong practitioner, her pension was denied. Ms. Li now has no income to live on.
  • Beijing Lawyers Accuse Zhaoyuan City Police, Procurators and Court Officials

    Several lawyers from Beijing defended Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Kao Fuquan, Ms. Song Guihua and Ms. Yang Lanxiang in Zhaoyuan City Court. The lawyers jointly wrote a letter in December 2010 to the Yantai City Intermediate Court and Procuratorate, Shandong Provincial High Court and Procuratorate, Beijing Supreme Court and Procuratorate, Public Security Department, Political Consultative Committees and the People's Committees at all levels, accusing the Zhaoyuan Court officials, the Procuratorate and the police of jointly breaking the law, by preventing the lawyers from being able to meet with their clients, to have access to documents, and to attend court hearings.
  • Persecution Accounts from Shandong Province Women's Prison

    If a practitioner refuses to write "the five statements" to renounce practising Falun Gong at Shandong Province Women's Prison she is dragged to a small cell, where four or five criminal inmates take turns to pinch her all over her body. They attach papers on her with words that slander Falun Gong. They punch and kick the practitioner, and when she tears off the papers, they put the papers on her again and start another round of beatings, until the practitioner is exhausted. When the practitioner still refuses to write "the five statements," they press her against a table with her head twisted to one side so she cannot move her body. They grab her hand and try to force her to write. They also kick her private parts and chest.
  • Blindness and Broken Nose Among the Injuries Suffered by a Retired Female Engineer

    Ms. Wang Liuzhen was sent to a forced labour camp twice by Chinese Communist Party (CCP) authorities because she firmly refused to renounce her practice of Falun Gong. As a result of the abuse in the labour camp, she became blind. CCP authorities forced Ms. Wang's husband to divorce her and prevented her family from visiting her. In addition, they hired people to follow and watch Ms. Wang around the clock and limited her personal freedom. A few days ago, Ms. Wang was beaten by those who were monitoring her. As a result, her nose was broken and her eyes were swollen to the point that she could not open them.
