  • Ms. Gao Ruixia Died as a Result of Persecution in Liaoning Province

    Ms. Gao Ruixia began practising Falun Gong in 1998. She studied the teachings of Falun Gong and did the exercises every day. She lived a fulfilling life, experienced great improvements spiritually, and all her diseases went away. But after the persecution began on July 20th, 1999, her happy life turned to one of countless harassments. Police went to Ms. Gao's home to harass and closely monitor her. They deprived her of a peaceful practice environment. Gradually, Ms. Gao's health deteriorated and her sickness recurred. The police did not stop harassing her even when she was in critical condition, until the day of her death on October 17th, 2007.
  • Ms. Chen Yumei Beaten to Death by Police in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province

    On the morning of July 4th, 2008, officers from Chang'an Police Station in Dadong District, Shenyang City tried to arrest Ms. Chen Yumei, 48, on Pangjiang Street near Ms. Chen's neighbourhood. They brutally beat and kicked her. Many bystanders witnessed the brutality, and saw that Ms. Chen passed out from the beating. At around 9 a.m. on the same morning, a police vehicle arrived at Ms. Chen's home, and her family was asked to identify her in an ambulance. She died at around 8:30 p.m. on July 4th.
  • With Husband Killed and Daughter in Prison, Ms. Yao Caiwei Is in Dire Straits

    Practitioner Mr. Zhang Tao from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province was tortured to death by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) His daughter, Ms. Zhang Jianhui, was sentenced to prison for ten years and is currently being held in the Harbin City Women's Prison. His wife, Ms. Yao Caiwei, has been arrested many times, sentenced to forced labour camps twice, and longs for her husband and the return of her daughter. These experiences have caused her to show the symptoms of cerebral thrombosis.
  • Elderly Ms. Zeng Pinglan, from Miyi County, Sichuan Province, Died after Being Harassed by Chinese Communist Party Officials

    On June 18th, 2008, seven or eight Chinese Communist Party (CCP) members from Salian Town, Miyi County, Sichuan Province, broke into and searched Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zeng Pinglan's home. Ms. Zeng was a practitioner in her sixties, and she was sick in bed at the time of the break-in. The CCP members harassed her, which aggravated her illness. Ms. Zeng died three days later on June 21st, 2008.
  • Ms. Lu Aicui, a Kind Elderly Woman, Passes Away Due to the Persecution

    Ms. Lu Aicui, my uncle's wife, was a kind older woman who was known to have a big heart. But since 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started its persecution of Falun Gong, police always went to my uncle's home to harass them. They finally forced my uncle and his wife to write guarantee statements, saying that they would give up practising Falun Gong, and to hand in all their Falun Gong books. Ms. Lu's son has been subjected to torture since the CCP started persecuting Falun Gong. He has been taken into detention, fined, and even been under residential surveillance after being released. Because of the stress from all these hardships, Ms. Lu's old illnesses returned. Finally, because of her illnesses and all the stress, Lu Aicui passed away.
  • Mr. Li Zhengling Dies of Torture in Deyang Prison, Sichuan Province

    Mr. Li Zhengling was sentenced to three years in a forced labour camp, where he was subjected to being locked in a small cell, forced overtime work, forced standing for long periods of time, hanging by handcuffs, brutal beatings, and shocks from electric batons. In 2005 Mr. Li was sentenced to five years in prison. In October 2007, when Mr. Li Zhengling's family went to Deyang Prison to visit him, they saw that he was disfigured, emaciated, and blind in both eyes, and he could not take care of himself. On June 24, 2008, police officers notified his family that Mr. Li had died in Shuangliu Police Hospital. His family does not know any details of his death.
  • Mr. Wu Xinming Tortured to Death in Shaanxi Province

    Mr. Wu Xinming was twice detained in a forced labour camp for distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong. The guards in Zaozihe Forced Labour Camp tied him up with rope. Mr. Wu went on hunger strike to protest the persecution, and the guards force-fed him with a highly concentrated salt solution, chilli powder water, and even laundry detergent. Mr. Wu still refused to give in. The guards tortured him by tying up his body, and then whipped him with wire, resulting in his whole body being covered with bruises. The camp authorities were afraid he would die there, and he was released. Mr. Wu Xinming died on June 26th, 2008.
  • Older Practitioner Ms. Ma Yong'an Dies from Torture at the Sanshui Forced Labour Camp in Guangdong Province

    In September 2007, Ms. Ma Yong'an, 60, was arrested while distributing leaflets exposing the persecution and telling people the facts about Falun Gong in a supermarket, and was taken to the Sanshui Women's Labour Camp after being sentenced to one year of forced labour. One day in April 2008, she vomited up white bubbles after a meal. The Labour Camp doctor had a nurse collect three tubes of blood from her for testing. Guards brought her a bucket of water and wanted her to drink it. Ms. Ma passed out right after drinking the water. Several days later, one of the guards notified her family to pick her up. She died less then one month after returning home, on May 23rd, 2008.
  • Changchun Practitioner Ms. Wang Yuhuan Was Subjected to Extremely Harsh Torture Before She Died

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wang Yuhuan, 52, along with several dozen local practitioners, were arrested by the police on May 9th, 2007. On the night of October 9th, a police officer called Ms. Wang's family and said, "Wang Yuhuan has vomited blood. The doctor failed to save her life after trying to resuscitate her. She is already dead." According to sources, the elderly Ms. Wang had died two weeks earlier, on September 24th.
  • Older Practitioner Ms. Lang Fengxian Dies in Beijing as Result of Being Persecuted

    Ms. Lang Fengxian, in her 60s, was sentenced to forced labour by 610 Office agents because she refused to give up her faith in Falun Gong, and her old sickness recurred. She was bailed out for medical parole. Police often harassed her by going to her home. From January to May 2008, Ms. Lang was arrested three times in only four months, but each time she was released due to her physical condition. She died in the middle of June 2008 during a time when local 610 Office agents were constantly harassing her at home.
  • Additional Information on the Death of Ms. Wang Shuxia in Liaoning Province

    Ms. Wang Shuxia, 45, was arrested and detained several times by police for practising Falun Gong. In 2002 she was sentenced to three years of forced labour, and taken to the Masanjia Labour Camp. Her mental state worsened. They locked her in solitary confinement for the first three months and tortured her by hanging her up by her wrists in rings. The scars on her wrists were still visible after six years. In January 2008, the court sentenced Ms. Wang to three years in prison. On June 5th, 2008, the prison guard notified local police that Ms. Wang had died. When her family rushed there, they found her body freezing cold, but they could still see bruises on her neck and chest. It was clear she had not died naturally; she was tortured to death.
  • Ms. Wang Shuxia Tortured to Death While in Custody in Liaoning Province

    Ms. Wang Shuxia, 45, played a video exposing the persecution of Falun Gong at a booth she was operating. Police arrested her, ransacked her home, and took away her TV set, DVD player, and Falun Gong books. On January 15th, 2008, the Diaobingshan City Court held a secret trial, and sentenced her to three years in prison. On May 3rd, 2008, they took her to the Shenyang City Prison. On May 5th, 2008, the prison guard called her family and said she had died from a stroke. When her family went to see her body, they saw all the injuries. Ms. Wang's family was very sad because she was tortured to death in less than 48 hours!
  • In Memory of Ms. Gao Rongrong, Who Died Three Years Ago

    On June 16th, 2005, Ms. Gao Rongrong was killed while in detention as a direct result of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) policy of "eradicating the practice of Falun Gong." Three years have passed, and the injustice has not been exonerated. Through reading the Clearharmony website, people can see that the CCP is still intensely persecuting practitioners, and continuing to mislead people around the world.
  • Mr. Xu Changqing Dies as Result of Persecution in Inner Mongolia

    In 2000, practitioners in Dayangshu Town distributed leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong using their very limited incomes. Li Shuliang ordered officers to arrest Mr. Xu Changqing, and cruelly tortured him, and detained him for 18 months. In February 2002, Mr. Xu was sentenced to three years in prison, with a three year probation period. Mr. Xu was forced to live out of town to avoid being arrested due to his beliefs. He had been living in poverty and was homeless, leaving him in poor health. He developed cirrhosis of the liver and died on June 14th, 2008.
  • Remembering Mr. Yu Zhou and His Wife, Ms. Xu Na

    I first met Mr. Yu Zhou and his wife, Ms. Xu Na, on a mild winter afternoon. Ms. Xu had just been released from Beijing Women's Prison. She was thin, but her eyes were bright. I knew some of the suffering she had gone through during her five years in prison. Yu Zhou was tortured to death by the Communist regime on the eve of the Chinese New Year.
