  • Fuzhou City 610 Office Prevents Lawyer from Meeting with and Reviewing his Falun Gong Practitioner Client’s Case

    Mr. Wang Yongjin is a 37-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. He holds a master’s degree in Ancient Chinese language and is an excellent writer. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began its suppression of Falun Gong in 1999, he was arrested for refusing to give up his belief. In August 2010, he was arrested and taken to the Fuzhou City First Detention Centre. Mr. Wang’s family hired a lawyer from Beijing after learning of his arrest. However, guards at the detention centre flashed a statement supposedly signed by Mr. Wang expressing his intention not to use a lawyer. The lawyer also had doubts about the validity, legality, and authenticity of the statement, but he was still refused a meeting with Mr. Wang.
  • An Appeal from a 65-Year-Old Mother

    In a few short years after the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong in July 1999, my family was torn apart. My husband passed away, my daughter-in-law is still detained and being tortured in the Hunan Province Women's Prison, and my son has left home. My daughter-in-law was arrested on February 16th, 2010, in a hotel in Kunming City. She was then taken to Chenzhou City Detention Centre. There, she went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. As a result, she was cuffed to a bed, brutally force-fed, and injected with unknown drugs until she was near death. When she lost consciousness, the guards pressed hard on an acupuncture point below her nose for more than 20 minutes until she regained consciousness. The inmates all cried in sympathy at what was happening to her.
  • Practitioner Ms. Liang Xiangjiao from Wuhan, Hubei Province, Given Five-year Prison Sentence

    Ms. Liang Xiangjiao, a Falun Gong practitioner, was sentenced to one year of forced labour for distributing Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution of Falun Gong in 2006. In March 2009, she was arrested for putting up stickers exposing the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to Tangjiadun Brainwashing Centre in the Jianghan District, Wuhan and detained for 15 days. Her left ankle was struck and fractured. Hanyang District Court tried Ms. Liang on June 22nd, 2010. On July 14th, the Hanyang District Court sentenced her to five years in prison, and she was taken to the Wuhan Women's Prison, Hubei Province.
  • High School Teacher Wang Hongxing Arrested

    Police came to the Daqing 17th High School and arrested Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Hongxing on December 17th. The officers interrogated him and intended to remove his belt, but Mr. Wang did not cooperate. They then kicked him with a lot of force, which caused him to lose his balance. At that time, his family stood outside and heard loud noises coming from the inside. They questioned the officers about why they were persecuting Mr. Wang for his belief in Falun Gong. The officers forcibly pushed Mr. Wang into a vehicle and sent him to the Dulitun Third Detention Centre in Daqing.
  • Mr. Yao Zhen Sentenced to One Year in Prison in Dongguan City, Guangdong Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yao Zhen was arrested by officers from Guancheng District Public Security Bureau on October 20th, 2010. Recently, Mr. Yao was sentenced to one year of forced labour. Mr. Yao's wife insisted on getting her husband released, so she submitted an application letter for administrative reconsideration. Mr. Yao Zhen also does not accept the persecution and handed in his administrative reconsideration application. Mr. Yao's wife went everywhere to try to free her husband. However, the National Security Brigade and the Bubugao Police Station shuffled his case between each other or avoided meeting with her.
  • Model Worker at Yuanjiang Paper Mill Faces Sentence in Hunan Province

    Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Ruan Fanghua was a model worker (workshop officer) at the Yuanjiang Paper Mill in Hunan Province. He was arrested by Changsha City police on August 3rd, 2010 and has been detained since then. During the persecution of Falun Gong by the communist regime, Mr. Ruan has been persecuted numerous times. After this most recent arrest, he was sent to a brainwashing centre. Agents from the Public Prosecution Office of the Yuelu District Prosecutorial Bureau in Changsha City have charged Mr. Ruan in the Yuelu District Court. So Mr. Ruan is now also facing sentencing.
  • Suzhou City 610 Office Confidential Document Exposes a Large Number of Communist Regime Agents Active in the Persecution of Falun Gong

    The 610 Office is an illegal organisation established by the Chinese communist regime specifically to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Shen Huiming, a vicious agent from the Political Office of the Taicang City Procuratorate in Jiangsu Province, was awarded by Suzhou City 610 Office as a city-level brainwashing specialist. This news has already been published on the Taicang City Procuratorate website. Another item on that website was a confidential document from the Suzhou City 610 Office, which names 29 agents who were actively involved in the persecution of Falun Gong. Marked as “confidential” the document is numbered Suzhou City 610 Office-2010-No. 46, and was issued on May 25th, 2010.
  • A Family of Three in Fujin City, Heilongjiang Province Is Taken Away

    Five undercover police officers drove to the house of Mr. Yuan Yulong on December 21st. As soon as they walked into the house, they started interrogating him: “Is Falun Gong good or bad? Do you still want to practise it or not? Where are your son and daughter-in-law?” They placed Mr. Yuan's Falun Gong books on the table and started recording them with a video camera. Another five officers came to ransack Mr. Yuan's house. The officers confiscated his notebook computer, an inkjet printer, three MP3 players, two mobile phones, some Falun Gong leaflets exposing the persecution and Falun Gong books. They then arrested him and he is currently being held at the Fujin Detention Centre.
  • What I Know of Beijing Deputy Mayor Ji Lin's Crimes

    On December 13th, Beijing's deputy mayor Ji Lin arrived at Taoyuan Airport in Taiwan. Ji is active in the persecution of Falun Gong in China. Two hours after landing in Taiwan, Falun Gong practitioners notified him in person that a criminal lawsuit had been filed against him. From 1999 to 2004, during the time when Ji Lin was the County Committee General Secretary at Miyun County and the Political Affairs and Regulations Committee General Secretary of Beijing, Miyun County became the area in Beijing that persecuted Falun Gong practitioners most severely. While he was the County Committee General Secretary at Miyun, Ji personally planned and conducted arrests and torture of Falun Gong practitioners. He was also involved in the examination and approval of each practitioner's sentencing.
  • Mr. Liu Guangzhi Wrongfully Imprisoned, Family Not Allowed to Visit

    In July 2007, when Mr. Liu Guangzhi took pictures for another Falun Gong practitioner in court, national security personnel from the Longtan District in Jilin City arrested and tortured him. Longtan Court, under orders from the Jilin City 610 Office (an organisation of special agents just for persecuting Falun Gong), sentenced Mr. Liu to six years in Gongzhuling Prison. Mr. Liu has been imprisoned since then. Both the prison and the 610 Office are trying to conceal information about Mr. Liu, and the prison refuses to let anyone visit him. No one has seen Mr Liu since he was arrested in July 2007.
  • Ms. Liu Meili from Wuhan City Arrested and Robbed by the Police

    Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Meili from Wuhan City, Hubei Province was arrested on November 4th, 2010. The police stole her retirement salary of 3000 yuan. They handcuffed Ms. Liu to a chair. When her family came to ask for her release, the officers lied and promised that they would detain her for only 15 days. After her family left, they shoved Ms. Liu into a police car and transferred her to the Wuhan City First Detention Centre.
  • Two Elderly Women Practitioners from Zhongyuan Oil Field Arrested

    Two elderly practitioners, Ms. Jin Runhua and Ms. Han Yongshu, left home together on December 22nd. By dinner time that day they still had not returned to their homes. Their families were so worried about them that they made many phone calls to try to find them. Not until around 9:00 p.m. that night when Zhongyuan Oil Field Security Section officers came to Ms. Jin's home to ransack it did Ms. Jin's family learn that their loved one had been arrested and detained. Those participating in the home ransacking included officers from the Liutun Police Station and from the Puyang County Police Department.
  • Heartless Practices Carried Out at Xindian Women's Forced Labour Camp in Shanxi Province During 2010

    Xindian Women's Forced Labour Camp in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, is a horrific place, where the communist regime persecutes practitioners. Many of the vicious thugs and the brutal tortures they have subjected practitioners to have been exposed on the Internet. Ms. Wang Xinrong, 68, is a practitioner from Beijing. After being forced to sit on a small stool for a long time, she became very weak. One day after standing up, she immediately fell down. Someone helped her stand up and she vomited blood. Nevertheless, the next day the guards continued to torture her.
  • Ms. Zhou Xiaoyan from the Hexi District, Tianjin City, Detained Multiple Times

    Ms. Zhou Xiaoyan was arrested by local police on December 29th, 2009, and she has been detained at the Hexi District Detention Centre and Hedong District Detention Centre for more than a year. In October 2010, Ms. Zhou was sentenced to three years of imprisonment by Hedong Court. She appealed the sentence. In November, Tianjin No. 2 Intermediate Court held a second trial. Both trials were held secretly, without informing Ms. Zhou's family members. Previously, Ms. Zhou was arrested and detained in 2008.
  • Ms. Yang Jie Tortured Brutally for Ten Years (Part 1)

    Ms. Yang Jie, 40, from Zhongwei City, Ningxia Autonomous Region, was employed at a life insurance company in Zhongwei. She began practising Falun Gong in 1997. Since the onset of the persecution of Falun Gong by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), Ms. Yang was imprisoned in the Ningxia Women's Forced Labour Camp and the Ningxia Women's Prison more often than not. She was tortured and fired for practising Falun Gong twice. To protest the persecution in the detention centre Ms. Yang went on a hunger strike and guards held her down on a bed and brutally force-fed her.
