Details of the Recent Arrest of Ms. Ji Yan of Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province

At 6:40 a.m. on April 14th, 2007, after practitioners Ms. Ji Yan and Mr. Wei Danquan drove through the Shanhaiguan toll station, their car was stopped by two police cars. Ms. Ji's belongings were confiscated, she was handcuffed and taken away in a car. Lu Ping, the director of Qinhuangdao City's National Security Group, asked, "Who is Ji Yan?" When Ms. Ji turned around to answer, Lu Ping immediately punched her in the face, pulled her hair, and pushed her down to the ground. He started to beat her further but was stopped by the guard. Then the police officers took off Ms. Ji's glasses, covered her head with a black bag, and took her down to a car, while Lu Ping was shouting, "Never dream of getting out of here, I've got to kill you today!" -
Twelve Practitioners Taken into Police Custody after Luo Gan's Secretary Visited Chicheng
2007-05-20On April 21st, 2007, the secretary of Luo Gan (one of the primary perpetrators of the persecution) went to Chicheng, Hebei Province. When he passed the Dahaituo Tourist Area in Chicheng County, he saw the large banners posted by Falun Dafa practitioners to inform people about the true nature of Falun Gong. After he returned to Beijing, he reported this to his boss. He then pressured the government officials of Chicheng County accusing them of not being able to suppress Falun Gong effectively. As a result, the 610 Office of Zhangjiakou set up a special team. They went to Chicheng County and worked with the local police department to persecute practitioners. In every town in the county, the police arranged someone to keep surveillance at night. Police vehicles patrolled the streets everywhere. -
Ms. Liu Yanmei from Shangdong Province Tormented for a Year, Labour Camp Authorities Refused to Let Her Husband Visit Her
2007-05-20Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Liu Yanmei from Dagou Village, Puwang Town, Yinan County, Shangdong Province, was arrested in May 2006 when she was distributing pamphlets about Falun Gong. She was later sentenced to three years in Shangdong Forced Labour Camp located in Jinan. News from the labour camp reported that she was seriously tortured. Her family tried to visit her many times but was refused by the camp authorities. -
Policemen from Wanquan County of Zhangjiakou City Arrest Several Dafa Practitioners
2007-05-20Police surrounded practitioner Zhao Wanying's home. Although he was not at home, his wife and daughter were there and the police stayed for more than 40 hours. Police ransacked their home and took away Mr. Zhao's wife and his daughter, who are not practitioners, to the county police department. It has been over a week now, and the child is still not allowed to go to school. According to some witnesses, Mr. Zhao's wife suffered a heart attack. Their current whereabouts are not known. The policemen monitored Mr. Zhao's residence for two days, hoping to capture Mr. Zhao and any practitioners who go to his home. The policemen have been camped out inside his home and eating his food. -
I Became Disabled in Jiamusi Forced Labour Camp in Heilongjiang Province
2007-05-19On January 25th, 2005, I explained the facts about the true nature of Falun Gong to a person called Liu Lijie. He reported me, I was arrested and sentenced to two years of forced labour. In the evil den that is Heigemu Forced Labour Camp, the food and living conditions were horrible. We were only given soup for all meals, with nothing but a few vegetable leaves or chunks of turnip in the soup. One day, I even found a dead mouse in the soup. Besides the horrid living conditions, we were forced to do 10 hours of labour every day. To do the labour, we were forced to sit in a dark, cold workroom for a long time and no one was allowed to move or talk. If one couldn't finish the task, one had to work overtime. And the guards would constantly beat and verbally abuse us every day. I was under intense mental and physical stress for a long time. -
Recent Incidents of Cruelty Against Practitioners in the Suihua City Forced Labour Camp in Heilongjiang Province
2007-05-18On March 14th, 2007, because practitioner Mr. Peng Shuquan persisted in cultivating Falun Dafa after being imprisoned by the Chinese Communist Party at the Suihua City Forced Labour Camp, the guards tortured him with the "Handcuff Hanging Torture", sealed his mouth with adhesive tape to silence him, inserted three boxes of lit cigarettes as well as garlic and hot pepper in his nose, completely burned all of his pubic hair, burned his finger with a lit cigarette and a cigarette lighter until it was completely charred, and also shocked him with electric batons. -
After Three Years of Torture in a Forced Labour Camp, Mr. Qi Mingli Is Transferred to Fushun City Brainwashing Centre in Liaoning Province
2007-05-18Mr. Qi Mingli is a practitioner from Liaoning Province. After detaining him in a forced labour camp for three years, the police transferred him to a brainwashing centre located in the Luotai Mountain Retreat area of Fushun City, where those in charge continue to torture him. Due to the persecution, Mr. Qi became disabled long ago and his vision is getting worse and worse. He is only able to see things within a range of less than two metres (6.5 ft). -
Ms. Ma Youjuan Is Detained, Her Non-Practitioner Father Sent to a Forced Labour Camp
2007-05-18On October 15th, 2006, after being homeless for over four years, practitioners Ma Youjuan and Yu Kejun were arrested. In the evening of the same day, their eight-year-old daughter was also taken to the West City Police Station and detained there. The following day, Ma Youjuan's father, Ma Yiqing, took the child home. One month later, Yu Kejun was sent to a forced labour camp for a year, while Ma Youjuan has been detained at the Weifang City Detention Centre to this day. Because Ma Yiqing, who is a non-practitioner, went to the police to appeal for the release of his daughter, he was arrested and sent to the Changle Forced Labour Camp for a one year term. -
Mr. Zheng Zhicheng Arrested for the Third Time Along with His Wife, Ms. Cheng Chao
2007-05-17On April 14th, 2007, police arrested Mr. Zheng Zhicheng and Ms. Cheng Chao. Zheng Zhicheng had already been imprisoned in Hehuakeng Forced Labour Camp for three years. The guards there are brutal in their efforts to "reform" practitioners. One of their methods is "Stool Sitting." Every day, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. they force practitioners to sit on a 10-cm (4-inch) wide and 20-cm (8-inch) tall stool. Everyone has to sit still; no one is allowed to use the toilet or eat outside the fixed schedule. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are ten minutes each. Each person is entitled to use the toilet twice a day for five minutes, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. During their many days of "Stool Sitting" the practitioners are forbidden to change clothes, brush their teeth, or wash. Some get lice. -
Guard Tied Ms. Cui Huanying to a "Death Bed" and Whipped Her Across the Eyes with a Saw Blade at the Brainwashing Centre in Wangdu County, Baoding City, Hebei Province
2007-05-16On January 3rd, 2002, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Cui Huanying was taken to the brainwashing centre in Wangdu County. When she did not follow the authorities' orders, she was barbarically force-fed, beaten, and whipped with a saw blade across her eyes. She has lost sight in her left eye. the guards tied up Ms. Cui on a "Death Bed", pulled her arms straight, and tied them to wooden clubs in the shape of a cross. Both of her arms became disabled. She can no longer take care of herself. -
Falun Gong Practitioner Wang Lingzhi Details Torture by Policeman Feng Jitang in Letter to Procurator
2007-05-16"I am a Falun Gong practitioner. Because I posted flyers that informed people about the persecution, I was arrested on February 9th. I was taken to Daobei Police Station. In about 20 minutes, Feng Jitang appeared. Before he said anything, he kicked me in my back. He handcuffed me to a bedpost, cursed me and took one of his leather shoes and hit my head and ears like a madman. He also said, "I am going to beat you to death today!" He beat me so hard that he broke two clubs. He got another one and continued beating me. I cried out from the severe pain. I am suing Feng Jitang for the excruciatingly painful torture he used on me. -
Police From the Fengtai District 610 Office in Beijing Arrest Liu Yonghui, His Wife and His Mother
2007-05-16On April 24th, 2007, policemen arrested Mr. Liu Yonghui and his wife, Ms. Zhai Huiling, while he was working. At around 2:00 p.m. on April 24th, a group of police officers took Mr. Liu to his home. His mother, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Yang Tiezhen, refused to open the door, so the officers broke in and ransacked his home. Afterwards, they took him away. His mother, and his mother-in-law, who lives in another city and had come to visit them, and his and his wife's baby, who is less than two years old were left at home. Two days later on April 26th, the police returned to arrest Ms. Yang Tiezhen. -
The Hidden Brutality at Weining Forced Labour Camp in Benxi, Liaoning Province
2007-05-15Weining Forced Labour Camp in Benxi City is a place where the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) dictatorship carries out its brutal policies. Every newly arrived practitioner is "cared for" by the guards upon arrival, who pretend to be kind and warm. They constantly air videos that slander Falun Gong and praise the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Two "brainwashing" personnel watch the practitioner all the time, even when he goes to the toilet. If these methods don't work, they will threaten him. "If you don't change your mind, we will transfer you to Dabei Prison." If none of these tactics work, then they will act more brutally. They prohibit practitioners from sleeping and send the practitioners to the "severe treatment team" and put them on a "dead person's bed" to stretch their limbs. A healthy person can be damaged to the point of a mental breakdown from this treatment. -
Ms. Yang Wenjie Tortured for Five Years In Custody of the 610 Office and Brainwashing Centre in Zhaoyuan, Shandong Province
2007-05-15Ms. Yang Wenjie is 45 years old. At the beginning of the persecution, her employer fired her because she refused to renounce Falun Gong. She went to Beijing to appeal for justice and was held in a detention centre for eight months. After that, officials from the 610 Office sentenced her again to three years in a forced labour camp. Ms. Yang was tortured for five years because she refused to renounce her belief. When she was finally released in March 2007, she saw her son for the first time in five years. He had grown up and looked like an adult. Everyone who witnessed this cried. -
Ms. Men Xiumei and Her Family Suffer Ruthless Torture
2007-05-14In May 2001, my son, Cheng Peiming, was sentenced to eight years. He recounted: "The police punched me in the face, inserted heated skewers into my nails, shot at my lips with rubber bands, scratched a belt buckle up and down my ribcage, clipped my nipples with steel clamps, beat me with batons, forcefully dug into my collar bone, and used a torture called "Nama" on me. "Nama" - two police pushed really hard on the gap between my legs and lower abdomen; two other police squeezed really hard on my ribcage from my lower rib up to my arm pits. It was extremely painful and it exhausted me. "Space Hat" - the police put a plastic bag on my head, tightened it, and put a helmet on my head. They heavily banged a 7 pound hammer on the helmet until I partially lost consciousness due to the fierce impact. They repeated this during interrogation.
