Chengdu City "610 Office" Extort "Confessions" by Torture at a Brainwashing Class

In 2002, all employers of Falun Gong practitioners had to pay 20,000 Yuan per employee per month for the brainwashing class. In 2003, the employers were forced to pay 5,000 to 6,000 Yuan per employed Falun Gong practitioner per month. They not only sent gangs to beat up practitioners, but also ordered them to steal farmers' harvests in the fields at midnight. -

2004-01-14Over the past four years, out of loyalty to Jiang Zemin's Regime, Wang Shuchun has carried out Jiang's genocidal policy of "ruin Falun Gong practitioners' reputations, devastate them financially and destroy them physically." Lingyuan City Dafa Practitioner, Mr Wu Yuan, Emaciated Beyond Recognition, IsTortured to Death
2004-01-13On December 8, 2003, Mr. Wu's son, Wu Gaoliang, received an unsigned letter from the 11th Confine Section of Chenyang Dabei Secondary Prison, stating that his father had oesophageal cancer and was to be released back to his family. On the morning of December 10, Wu Yuan's wife arrived at the hospital ward in Chenyang Prison and saw her husband's emaciated figure rolled up on a hospital bed. She didn't recognise him at first and had to ask him whether he was her husband. Wu Yuan nodded with difficulty. Crying, she embraced him for the last time. When he said something, the police interrupted and urged her to complete the procedures for bailing him out for medical treatment. She was forced to leave after only 30 minutes of seeing her husband. -

The police officer present shamelessly yelled at her children, "Liu Zhifen cultivated to the point of insanity and is dead!" Her family was shocked by the news and wanted to pursue justice for her. The police oficer shouted again, "She has already been sent to the crematory. You can go to see Jiang Zemin!" -
Since Changchun TV Broadcasts Exposing Human Rights Violations against Falun Gong Practitioners, Jiang's Regime Escalates Brutal Persecution to Unprecedented Heights
2004-01-13On March 5, 2002, Falun Gong practitioners in China's northeastern city of Changchun broadcast programmes over China's state-run airwaves, exposing the systematic atrocities against Falun Gong practitioners and Jiang Zemin's attempts to cover them up. This exposure of the truth produced fear in the highest levels of the regime. Enraged, Jiang Zemin ordered to "kill without pardon" those responsible for the broadcast. Over the next few days, more than 5,000 people believed to be practitioners of Falun Gong were detained during an all-out and unprecedented police sweep in Changchun, and the city was under near-martial law. Dozens were killed as a result of police brutality during the round up. A total media blackout severely hampered many attempts to contact locals and confirm individual reports. -

2004-01-13The Jiamusi Labour Camp continually forces Dafa practitioners to perform intense labour, and most of the time the work goes beyond a regular working day. They did not discriminate about what kind of work they would force us to do, as long as it made them money. Recently they got a contract with an individual who sent us piles of dirty flax materials that could only be found in refuse piles. The labour camp forced us to use these dirty materials to make cushions for car seats, which would not meet any reasonable quality standard at all. They did not mind hurting consumers in order to make themselves a profit. -

2004-01-12These false fronts can easily deceive the foreign media and investors and lead them to believe that the forced labour camp is a comfortable resort - with deer even! Heilongjiang Province Dafa Practitioner Ms. Pang Siyuan Passes Away as a Result of Abuse and Torture
2004-01-12On January 21, 2001, Pang Siyuan was transferred out of the brainwashing centre, together with her daughter. They were forcibly sent to the notorious Wanjia Labour Camp for one year of forced labour. Her husband was sent to the Changlinzi Labour Camp. A happy family was broken apart. Ms Siyuan had to endure more torture. She was detained again in November 2002, when she was cruelly tortured, both mentally and physically. Her physical condition kept deteriorating after she was released three months later. She died from the effects of these abuses and torments in May 2003. -

2004-01-12My family then paid the money to the labour camp in exchange for my mum's release. However, the labour camp officials didn't release my mother as they promised. Two weeks later, the local police notified us that my mum was at the police station and could be released to us for an additional amount of 3,000 yuan. My family was really angry at their blatant corruption, yet had no choice but to pay them the money in hopes of reuniting my mother with the family. Those local officials! They don't help or serve the local people but instead take every opportunity to extort money from good people for their personal gain. -

2004-01-11Staff members from Nanyang City Political and Legal Committee "610 Office" have held many brainwashing sessions to persecute and extort money from practitioners. Every time a brainwashing session was held, the executive officers would appropriate large amounts of public money for the operation of such sessions. These funds are hard-earned money paid by the people of the district. However, on top of these extensive funds the brainwashing facility staff members force practitioners to pay 30 yuan in the name of room and board even though they are detained against their wishes and do not volunteer for these classes. -
Life of Falun Dafa Practitioner Tian Xiaofei in Grave Danger After Several Months of Torturous Forced-Feeding
2004-01-11His health is deteriorating from the torturous forced-feedings he endures four or five times each day. He has now become so emaciated that when his family came to visit him, he required the assistance of several people in order to walk. To cover up their crimes of torture, the prison administration now refuses all visitors, and has said they will not allow him any medical parole for treatment of his internal injuries until all of his internal organs are totally malfunctioning. -

Chengdu City Factory Dismisses Worker to Force Him to Divorces His Falun Gong Practitioner Wife
2004-01-11They asked for my husband to come to the factory for a conference and announced that he was not allowed to come to work. They told him that he could not come back to work until he was divorced. They further told him that I would no longer be allowed to live in Factory 5701 after the divorce and if anyone found me in the factory, my husband would be charged with providing shelter for a criminal. Thus, so my husband and son could avoid "guilt by association," we were divorced, and a happy, harmonious family was broken apart. -
How Liu Chengjun Was Tortured to Death in Jilin Prison (Photo)
2004-01-10Liu Chengjun, a 32-year-old man from Nongan County, Jilin Province, was one of the people in Changchun and Songyuan who broadcast programmes over China's state-run airwaves exposing the systematic cover-up of atrocities against Falun Gong practitioners arrested for tapping into cable TV networks, for which he was arrested. He was sentenced to 19 years in Jilin Prison. Liu was severely tortured in the prison and died at 4:30 in the morning of December 26, 2003. -
Seventy-Year-Old Lady Passes Away in Sichuan Province Due to Long-Term Torture
2004-01-10While in detention, Liao was monitored around the clock. Every month she was forced to turn in 300 yuan in the name of so-called "food expenses," another 300 yuan in the name of an "administration fee" and "utility fee." Moreover, she had to pay 900 yuan to cover the so-called "room and board" for those who monitored her. With a small pension of 800 yuan per month, Liao was under tremendous financial burden.
