Nineteen Persecution Deaths Verified in July (Photos)

According to reports on Clearwisdom.net in July 2004, it was confirmed that another 19 Falun Gong practitioners have died as a result of torture in the year 2004, which brings the overall death toll to 1,016. The oldest practitioner who died as a result of torture was Zhou Dehong, 78, from Hunan Province. The youngest practitioner was Ms. Wang Xiaodong, 34, who was a teacher at the Nantou Middle School in Shenzhen City. Eight of these practitioners were over 50 years of age, which accounts for 42% of the 19 deaths. Twelve were female, which accounts for 63% of the death toll. -

2004-08-12Whoever knew Zhang Xiaohong would only speak well of him. After he was taken home from detention, everyone was shocked about what had happened to him. Once a healthy young man, he had been tortured until he resembled a hunchbacked old man. He even had great difficulty speaking. He had completely lost the ability to take care of his needs. Despite the loving care of his family, his life could not be saved. Two months after he was taken home, he passed away. His death was completely unjustified and senseless. -
Meng Jincheng from Hebei Province Killed on the Day of His Arrival at Hehuakeng Labour Camp
2004-08-12Mr. Meng Jincheng was a 50-year-old practitioner from Hebei Province. He was arrested in November of 2002 while handing out materials that clarified the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Because he was steadfast in his belief, the Zunhua City "610 Office" sent him to the Tangshan City Labour Camp for further persecution. They ruthlessly killed Meng on July 7, 2003. -

Besides having been personally caused great mental and physical harm, the persecution against me has also greatly pained and burdened my family and friends, especially my mother. 2004-08-11Mr. Zhang Zhong, a Falun Dafa practitioner in Daqing, was tortured so severely just because he insisted on practising the Falun Gong exercises. As a result, he is unable to digest any food and he vomits whatever he eats. A prolonged period of vomiting then led to emaciation of his muscles and organs throughout his body. He has been on the brink of death several times and sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. Four doctors have placed him on the "imminent death" list. Still, Daqing Jail have refused to release him. -

2004-08-11Ms. Zhu Xia, 32, is a Falun Gong practitioner from Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, and has been jailed and tortured for a long period of time for practicing Falun Gong. She has been severely beaten, forcefully brainwashed, and constantly deprived of sleep. The prison officials labeled Ms. Zhu a criminal and paraded her around the streets to humiliate her. The abuse that she went through devastated Ms. Zhu both mentally and physically. She used to be a healthy and vibrant woman, but on April 2, 2004, Ms. Zhu returned home after suffering a mental breakdown. -
A Family Devastated by Persecution--Zhengzhou Police Abduct Daughter While Visiting Her Imprisoned Mother, Heartbroken Father Passes Away
2004-08-11Mother and daughter Xu Songduo and Shen Yanli of Zhengzhou City, Henan Province practise Falun Dafa. The mother, Xu Songduo, was sentenced to imprisonment in 2001. Her detainment was in violation of the Chinese constitution. Personnel from the Xinxiang Women's Prison and the Guancheng Police Division lured the daughter Shen Yanli to visit her mother in prison. They then went back on their promise not to harm the daughter and abducted her, torturing her cruelly. -
78 Year Old Falun Gong Practitioner Mr Zhou Dehong from Hunan Province Dies as a Result of the Persecution
2004-08-10Seventy-eight year old Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhou Dehong, from Hunan Province went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong in 2000. Police beat him brutally and tortured him. He suffered constant pain in his swollen chest and he often vomited blood. He could not eat properly. Zhou Dehong finally died with injustice in his heart After his release, Zhou stayed at home to recuperate but died on December 6, 2003. -

The Persecution I Suffered in a Chinese Prison
2004-08-10My name is He Lizhi. After suffering prison life for three and a half years in China, thanks to the help of the international community, I came to Canada this May. Practitioners and the Canadian Government made arduous efforts to rescue us. After my release, I was granted priority by the Canadian Immigration Ministry. Now I have reunited with my wife after three years and ten months separation. I was greatly moved by these kind people's actions for justice, and hereby cordially express my gratitude. -

2004-08-09I began my cultivation of Falun Dafa in the autumn of 1998, practising "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance" and cultivating my heart to be a good person. On May 11, 2001, I went to a Falun Dafa conference in Heilongjiang Province. I was abducted by two policemen, and followed by another two policemen, who didn't say anything but began beating me viciously, throwing me on the ground, and dragging me by my legs for over eighty feet before pushing me into a cage behind the police vehicle. -
Account of the Torture Yang Hong and Her Fellow Practitioners Have Suffered in the Masanjia Forced Labour Camp
2004-08-09Wang Zhimeng and three other policemen waited the whole night and abducted Dafa practitioner Yang Hong from Liaoning Province as she was walking down the stairs from her home at 4:00 a.m. on April 2, 2004. The policemen also abducted her 24-year-old daughter and stole their possessions valued at about 26,000 Yuan. They sent Yang Hong to a detention centre that same day. In protest, Yang Hong held a hunger strike for six days before she was sent to Masanjia Forced Labour Camp. -
Guangxi Forced Labour Camp Accounts for Over 1,000 Cases of Illegal Detention
2004-08-09In the Guangxi region, the police have detained a large number of practitioners. They are incarcerated mainly in the No. 1 Men's Forced Labour Camp and the Women's Forced Labour Camp in Nanning City. Based on my three-year experience in the men's forced labour camp, I estimate that about one thousand Falun Dafa practitioners were detained there. During this time, I saw and experienced how Dafa practitioners opposed the illegal detention by various means. -
Liaoning Province Dafa Practitioner Lian Ping Tortured to Death
2004-08-08Mr. Lian Ping, 29 years old, was from Liaoning Province. In 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa, and was arrested and detained twice afterwards. On April 10, 2002, he was arrested while distributing truth-clarification materials and sentenced to 6 years in prison. On July 10, 2004, he was tortured to death at the Liaoyang City Prison. His family members are under great pressure from the authorities, and they dare not say anything about his death.
