Among those present were journalists from the biggest newspaper in Gothenburg, and TV station Västnytt. The Chairman of Sweden’s Association for Human Rights was also at the press conference and showed great enthusiasm. He asked several questions and revealed that he hopes to begin working together with Falun Gong practitioners to end the persecution in China. -

Sweden: Falun Gong Practitioners Invited to Participate in School Open Day

The students and the teachers were all very keen on Falun Gong. Several of the children asked the practitioners to teach them the exercises. The students made comments like, "This is one of the best things I’ve seen" and "I feel very comfortable doing the exercises." Practitioners felt that teaching the exercises to the children was a great way to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day. -

2003-05-24Since its establishment, WOIPFG has received reports from various sources regarding the self-immolation incident. According to reliable information from inside the Chinese government and the Police Bureau, the "self-immolation" was staged to frame Falun Gong. The incident occurred after 18 months of Jiang's persecution of Falun Gong, which was consuming huge amounts of state resources. France: European Practitioners in Strasbourg Call on the Council of Europe for Help to Stop the Persecution

A few days earlier, some practitioners had visited representatives from 15 European countries in Strasbourg. They delivered a copy of some documents on the genocide lawsuit filed against Jiang Zemin. They also requested help in rescuing Ms. Xiong Wei, a student from Berlin Technical University, who is currently illegally imprisoned in China. -

2003-05-23"He began working at the military hospital in 1957, but was branded a "counter-revolutionary" in 1968 at the height of the Cultural Revolution. He was banished to feed horses at a military-run ranch in the northwestern province of Qinghai. In 1999, the 10th anniversary of the army crackdown on student-led democracy demonstrations, Jiang accused authorities of lying when they claimed not a single protester was killed on Tiananmen Square. SCMP (South China Morning Post): Ambushes on the information highway
2003-05-23By sending messages to various internet forums, researchers were able to determine that certain pornographic or politically sensitive terms, such as "June 4" (the date of the Tiananmen Square crackdown), "human rights", "Taiwan independence" and " Falun Gong" are banned. Messages containing these words are automatically screened out. Messages that do not contain banned words normally appear but, if their content is considered sensitive, they are soon removed. -

2003-05-22"Thailand is supposed to be a democratic and independent country but it seems that the Thai authorities are violating both national and international laws and human rights. Two weeks ago a diplomatic note was issued by the Swedish Embassy in Thailand to the Thailand authorities, but there has been no reply as yet. I am extremely concerned about the situation of Mrs Svensson and other Falun Gong practitioners."
